Earlier this month, Victoria’s Local Government Minister Shaun Leane announced that he intends to appoint municipal monitors to three Victoria councils in the coming weeks. Monitors at Darebin, Moira and Wodonga will join those already in place at South Gippsland, Yarra and Strathbogie - bringing the total number of councils with monitors to six.

In this special edition of the Roundup, Chris Eddy speaks with Clare Keenan, the CEO of Moira Shire Council about the events that have led to the recent announcement; and  Kat Bennett who recently resigned as a councillor at Wodonga, and has welcomed the news of a monitor as a necessary step.
