Episode 37 Supply Chain Diversity - What is it and why should you care? Sandra D'Souza CEO Ellect
Sandra D’Soza is the Founder and CEO of Ellect whose focus is helping businesses to achieve their Environmental Social and Governance Goals in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Ellect offers two products being the Ellect Stars in Gender Equality and the Supplier Diversity Marketplace.
Sandra and I spoke after the interview about our conversation and there were not many references to ‘how to’ and it was more about the purpose and feelings towards the subject. It was more serious than both of us expected but right now it probably needs to be taken seriously.
Maybe in another 5 years the conversation around supply diversity will be one questioning why you don’t have it, and you’re missing out on opportunities
The work that Sandra does is incredibly important and I’m buoyed that the senior executives see this area as a focus for the years to come.
I know that as I grew up I was fortunate to be surrounded by multi-culturalism and the 10 years in worked in Papua New Guinea taught me many skills that I would not have gained here in Australia and have been incredibly valuable as I help business owners scale their business.
It’s shaped how I see things. I think it gave me the opportunity to see things through a different lens.
The opportunity here is for small businesses is to create value for their business through a diverse workforce and as a result will be of value to larger organisations who are also walking down this path.
