DISCLAIMER: This episode is a conversation that predates the Candid Thoughts Podcast. It addresses a very marginalized topic that must be discussed.

In today's society, there's a push for mental health advocacy. Not many people know that narcissism is an actual mental disorder classified in the DSM-5. When having the conversation regarding narcissistic behaviors, the common discussion focuses on male narcissistic tendencies. However, women are just as likely, if not more than men, to have psychological conditions. According to a 10-year study conducted by Medco Health Solutions, 25%, or 1 in 4 women had been proven to be prescription drug users for antidepressants and antipsychotics. This, contrasted to 15%, or 1 in 7 men. Study details were written in this HuffPost article: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/women-and-prescription-drug-use_n_1098023.

Considering the mental health statistics, however, common conversation predominantly maintains that narcissistic behavior is relegated to men. Numerous men are silent victims of narcissistic women, who can abuse and manipulate men, which can often lead to divorce, false accusations, among other consequences. Here's a personal account of such behavior in this Medium article: https://medium.com/@AlphaPhantana/fellow-survivors-of-narcissistic-abuse-2b84137d9faa.

This video's discussion, hosted by Isabelo Pascual, with comedians Michael C. Hall & Zach Handa, addresses first-hand accounts of the largely unaddressed topic of narcissistic women, and the damages they can do to themselves and others.

You will also learn how to identify the red flags of narcissism in both men and women.
