Revelation 7: Jesus, the First Begotten of the Dead: Because He Lives, You Will Live Too! (1:5)
Mar 26, 2022

Have you ever done an in-depth study of the importance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and what that means for the life of every believer?

Today, I share how Jesus is "the first begotten of the dead."   For any believer facing persecution and martyrdom, having the assurance of life after death is critical!  For that reason,  this name of Jesus must have given His witnesses boldness to proclaim the faith, despite the many challenges they faced.   When you come to know this name at a deeper level, I'm confident it'll strengthen and embolden you as well!

In this episode, I explore the various issues of Christ's resurrection and how that foreshadows our resurrection.  I also focus on a "type and shadow of Christ" from the Old Testament that not too many people know about:  the waving of the sheaf offering.  If you have no idea what that is,  and why it's important to your resurrection, listen to the broadcast to learn more.

If you need to strengthen your sense of faith in what's to come and the power of the resurrection for your own life, this episode is for you!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

1.   Jesus said, speaking of His death, that if a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it'll give birth to many other grains.  (my paraphrase of John 12:24)  What does it mean for you to be "born again" from the seed of Christ?  If we came from his seed, what characteristics should we have as the "sons and daughters of God?"

2.  How would you describe the importance of Christ as the waving of the sheaf offering to be accepted by God on our behalf?  When it comes to Christ, why was it important for Him to be accepted by God first, before the harvest of the others could continue?  (Think Hebrews 9.)

3.  How could having security, assurance, and faith in your own resurrection, after the pattern of Jesus's resurrection, help you to live life to the fullest for God today and into the future?

4.  Why would it be important to meditate on the verses about the resurrection?

ACTION STEPS
