Host: Welcome to the Renewable Energy SmartPod. My name is Sean McMahon. I’m your host and I’m also SmartBrief’s Director of Content for Energy… Infrastructure and Finance.  Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Oh great, that’s just what the world needs … another podcast.” I hear you. I really do. But this show is a little different.

If you are looking for a fun and informative podcast that focuses specifically on the people, technologies and trends powering the energy transition … this is it.

We’ve got some great guests lined up, including key policymakers and C-suite executives from leading renewable energy firms. We’ll also hear from experts about how renewables can continue to attract new corporate and residential customers.

It seems like every day another corporation or government declares a new net-zero goal. In fact, sometimes entire industries set such goals. So we’ll hear from experts who will share their insights on what it takes for all those bold promises and predictions to become reality.

So - while the renewable energy sector might be enjoying a wee bit of momentum – pick your pun … the sun is shining on the industry … or the wind is at its back – nevertheless, there are major questions and challenges. For example  - How will new technologies change the way workers operate while also maintaining infrastructure that is crucial to continued growth?

And speaking of workers … big promises have been made about how renewables projects can create jobs … jobs … and more jobs … but will all those jobs materialize? And if they do … if that “Just Transition” truly begins to take hold, what will make up the renewables workforce of the future?

So yeah … the Renewable Energy SmartPod is gonna cover a lot of ground. If you work in the renewables industry or just care about the future of renewables, I think you’ll enjoy the show.
