Do you want different results in life but still find yourself doing the same things you've always done? A lot of us have done that in our lives. In fact, that was my story for many, many years until the Lord began showing me a different way to live.

The most exciting part? As I started making the changes He showed me and sharing those changes with others, their lives changed too!  Pretty sweet!

In this episode of 5-Minute Mentoring, and in my blog article on the same topic, I'm going to be sharing some practical things you can do to stop the cycle and start moving forward in your life and your art.

Have you ever wanted to have someone in your life who you could ask real questions about your art, your business, and even your walk with the Lord? Well, that's exactly what we do every Friday here on Five Minute Mentoring, where I answer one question from one of my awesome podcast listeners in order to help you start really thriving as the artist you know God created you to be. Well, hey there, my friend. I'm so glad that you're with me today here on 5-Minute Mentoring. You know, if we're honest, I think a lot of us have been in places in our life where we're like, gosh, the life that I'm living right now, the things that I'm going through, I really wish it would change, but I'm not really willing to change anything in my life in order to make things change. I've struggled with weight over the years and my eating. I'm just now starting to get a handle on that in my life. But I think for years, my goodness, I would like to be skinnier I would like to have more muscles and be more physically fit. And yet I was not willing to change my eating or change my habits in order to do that. I mean, that's just the bottom line. I think a lot of people don't like that with their art too. They like the idea of wanting to be an artist. They like the idea of God using them in their life, but they're not really to the point yet where they're willing to make a change, where they're willing to do different actions in order to get Different results. Now, I don't know if that's you or not. Some of you are probably saying, I'm going to switch to the next podcast because this is not very encouraging yet. Others of you are maybe saying, yeah, this is the amen corner, Matt. You're talking to me. Listen, we've all been there. All right. No shame. But, you know, I think about myself. There are probably a couple of different reasons. why people find themselves in that situation. One is fear, obviously. Fear of failure, fear of misunderstanding, fear of just the unknown. You know, what if I fail? What if it doesn't go this? What if this happens or that happens? What if I don't achieve everything that I believe is going to happen? What does that mean about me? All of the drama that goes around in that. Of course, the enemy's right there to blow that up like a big old IMAX film for you to freak out about. Also your mindset. I mean, you know, if you've never learned really to take control of your thoughts and cultivate, or as the Bible says in Romans, renew your mind according to God's word, then yeah, you probably got a lot of stinking thinking going on. Probably a lot of ideas about what's possible and who you are and what God's plan for your life is and what's possible with your art and, you know, all of that sort of thing is probably really skewed based on maybe your experience. or what others have said to you as opposed to the actual truth. Your thoughts are probably based on your normal as opposed to what could be normal in the kingdom if you begin to align with that. So those are a couple of things that I think a lot of times people find themselves in when they're dealing with this idea of wanting different results but not pursuing different actions. Also, just lack of knowledge. I mean, I think sometimes people just don't know what they don't know. They don't know the right questions to ask. They don't know anybody else is really doing something like they want to do. So they don't know who to ask. They don't know where to get encouragement from. Maybe nobody else in their circle of influence is doing anything like they're passionate about. You know, maybe they live in a rural area or live somewhere where nobody at their church or not very many people are artists or even have an idea about art, much less God wanting to use us as artists in the kingdom. And so they're just the lack of knowledge and feeling alone and feeling isolated. It's just like, gosh, I just, I had these dreams, but I just don't know how to pursue it. Well, listen, my friend, I wanna just, I wanna bring this to a head for you right now because you are never gonna get different results in your life unless you begin to take different actions. And that's not something that's just one day in the by and by. Oh, yeah, I might do this one day or, oh, maybe when I'm ready or, well, when it's the right time or not. It starts right now. It starts right now with a gut decision inside of you that says, you know what? No matter what I'm fearful about, no matter how scary this seems, no matter where I find myself in the world, no matter if I'm the only one, I am determined to to begin to see the results that I believe God has for me in my life in the context of being a thriving Christian artist, spiritually, artistically, in business, seeing my art transform others and sell and bless me and become a person of influence. That absolutely can be your story, but it starts with one thing, with you making the decision to change others. the habits and the actions that you have employed up until this time and make a change so that you can begin to move in a different direction. Now, I would be remiss not to invite you to be a part of our Created to Thrive artist mentoring program and let that be a part of this incredible decision that you can make right now to become the person that God has called you to be. But listen, it doesn't just happen magically. I can't, listen, as much as I would love to, like come into your home, sit down at your coffee table, walk you through everything that you need to do in your life to change and to really thrive. And I guess I could do that. It'd be very expensive to fly all over the world. You'd have to feed me, you know, and all that sort of thing. But listen, That's not possible. But it is possible for me to help you online. It is possible for me to help you in the context of our Created to Thrive Artist Mentoring Program. We only open it up twice a year, all right? In January and in September, usually. We also open it up during our Created to Thrive Experience Course that happens in the spring. But that's the only time. Other than that, it's closed. We're focused on helping our members get incredible transformation in their life. And here's the deal. The stories of transformation are absolutely incredible. If you've been listening to the podcast this month, you know the stories of Philip and of Trent and Kate and of Laura and of Marguerite and Gabriel and all the other people that I've interviewed over the years on this podcast, members of the mentoring program who have seen God do incredible things when they choose to step out, give God their yes, and trust me, to walk with them on their journey, to give them the practical things they need to start thriving as an artist, spiritually, artistically, and in business. But guess what? All of that starts with your decision to become a part of the mentoring program. Now, listen, I would love for you to become a part. You can actually click the link right here in the show notes to get all the information. You can watch a ton of great videos from people that have been on the podcast. You can see their stories, see them in their studio, hear from their voice, the things that God has done in their heart, on their journey, in being a part of this incredible community of almost 1,300 artists right now that we have from all over the world and just about every creative medium. People just like you who at some point in their life said, you know what? If I'm the only one, I'm going to step out and be who God's called me to be. I'm going to ask for help. I'm going to link arms with other artists. I'm going to trust that Matt is who he says he is, that he can help me do this just like he's done for all these other artists, and I can start thriving. And that's my invitation to you today, that you would invest in yourself and in your journey so that you're not a year from now or six months from now, sitting in the same frustrated, struggling place, trying to figure all this stuff out, trying to juggle it all by yourself. You don't have to do that. There's a roadmap that I've developed over the years that will walk you through your heart and mind life, your spiritual life, your art life, your business life. You're developing a brand to attract people, cultivating a life that is balanced and fulfilled and how to create a business that is both profitable and serves the life that you believe that God's created you to live financially in time, freedom and impact. Listen, it's absolutely possible. It is possible for you. And I want to invite you to be a part of it. So click the link down here inside the show notes. Find all out about all the details about the mentoring program. Doors are closing very, very soon. We only open the doors for a few days. Again, just a couple of times a year. Now is one of those times. We don't talk about it a lot on the podcast because we only open the doors a couple of times a year. But this is your opportunity. And there's nothing, there's no reason, really. I mean, with all the different payment options that we have, a monthly option, a yearly option, a lifetime option, there is an option for you to become a part. And so I want to invite you, just ask the Lord. After you get off of this podcast, just ask the Lord. Say, Lord, is this for me? Is this the next step of my journey? Is this the thing that you're calling me to step out in, even though I'm scared, even though I've never done anything like this, even though I may have never invested in myself before? Is this the next thing for me? And is this the next thing for me now? And if it is, I want to invite you to act quickly and become a part of the Created to Thrive Artist Mentoring Program. And listen, in whatever you're doing, realize that nothing's going to change in your life until you step out in faith, give God your yes, and begin to move in a different direction. Because different results always require different. actions. All right. My friend, I love you very much. It's always my pleasure to be here with you every week. I hope you'll become a part of the mentoring program, become a part of that incredible community. I hope I get to welcome you in, see your name coming in, get to hear your story. And I just hope that we get to really see some incredible things happen in your life this year inside the program. All right. I love you very much. Until next time, remember you were created to thrive. All right. Bye-bye.
