SPEAKER_00:

So many artists live lives fully paralyzed because they're just scared to step out and do something they've never done. Fear, anxiety, all this self-doubt, it comes up and it's like a wave, like a wall that blocks them from being all that God's called them to be and doing all that God's called them to do. Maybe you're struggling with that. I know, listen, I've struggled with that a long time in my life until God began to show me some simple strategies how to move through that. I'm going to show you those today here on Five Minute Mentoring. Have you ever wanted to have someone in your life who you could ask real questions about your art, your business, and even your walk with the Lord? Well, that's exactly what we do every Friday here on Five Minute Mentoring, where I answer one question from one of my awesome podcast listeners in order to help you start really thriving as the artist you know God created you to be. Hey, my friend. I'm so glad that you're with me here on the podcast today. You know, all of us, if we're honest, struggle with this fear of stepping out into the new from time to time. We've all been there. I know for me, because I grew up in a kind of situation that wasn't the best emotionally and relationally with what was going on in my life as a kid. It really caused me to be very, very protective, self-protective, so that I didn't do anything unless I knew exactly what the outcome was going to be. And in some ways that was, you know, it led me into some success in some areas because I really played to my strengths. But in a lot of ways, it kept me from stepping into new experiences because I never wanted to do anything that I didn't know exactly how it was going to turn out. So I never tried anything new. And listen, that was a real paralyzing factor for me. This whole fear of failure, ridicule, even the fear of success. What if I succeeded too much and people found out who I really was? You know, this whole idea of being an imposter, the imposter syndrome, we call it. And then all that morphing into self-sabotage. Listen, that is a very, very real cycle that a lot of people struggle with. Maybe you can totally identify with what I'm talking about. And the enemy uses that. He uses our past, our fear, this sort of IMAXing of what could happen, you know, this wounded view of ourself and isolation. He uses all of those things to really drive a wedge in between the promise of what God has for us and the reality of where we are now. And the thing I've learned over the years is that change only happens when my faith is And my willingness to step into the promise of God becomes bigger and more powerful than the fear of the unknown. I'll say that again. Change only happens when the faith in God's promise and who he says I am, all right, what he has for me, when that becomes bigger than the fear of the unknown, the fear, the doubt, the anxiety, all the things that the enemy is sowing. See, artists who try to thrive on their own rarely ever do. Why? Why is that? You know, a lot of us are lone rangers, but like, why is it that I'm trying on my own and I can't thrive? Well, it's because we're not designed to. We're not designed to just white knuckle it by herself and try to just do, you know, have these external solutions to internal problems. See, thriving is about much more than just marketing techniques or marketing your art. That's why I always laugh, you know, people that say, man, all this, you know, inner head work, heart and mind work that you talk about, all this kingdom stuff, that's great, but I just need to know how to sell my art. I'm like, listen, if you'll actually get your heart healed and start aligning your heart and your life with the truth of God's word and let him build confidence in you and join with others on the same journey. I promise you, I see it over and over and over and over again. Art sales and the growth of a business will take care of themselves. As you begin to grow in confidence and grow in embracing who God's called you to be, you're now in a place to receive The strategies and the knowledge that God's had for you all the time, but you couldn't receive it because you had fear and anxiety and self-doubt and all that other stuff that was clogging up the pipes. See, it's about having an identity that's rooted and grounded in Christ, and that sets the stage for everything else in our life. And it's also about, again, not trying to do that by yourself, but walking together in a mutually supporting, in a supportive community with other artists and other believers that are walking on the same journey. And listen, as you do both of those things in tandem, confidence builds. Your vision clarifies. Faith grows. Acceleration starts happening. Listen, that's what this podcast is all about. I do nothing every week but come to you with stories of people who are having their heart healed, having their mind renewed, having their identity reset in Christ, learning the things that they need to learn in their business, in their art, to do the things they need to do, and watching the acceleration happen. That's what we do. And listen, that's what we do inside the Created to Thrive Artist Mentoring Program. That's the whole reason we have the mentoring program. We help you get your heart healed. We help you come out of agreement with all those lies and all that stinking thinking and reform your heart and mind to align with the truth of God's word. And then guess what? We give you all the practical stuff you need to thrive artistically, to build your brand, to connect with clients, to find the people that actually have the means and the desire to buy your work, find out how to build a brand, build your website, actually start a business or a ministry that's profitable, that will provide for you so that you have the freedom and the opportunity, the time and space to do the thing that God's called you to do so that your life can make a difference, so that you can be a person of influence, kingdom influence and transformation in the lives of people through the gifting of art that God's given you. You know, I love our mentoring program because it is a proven pathway that allows artists to thrive artistically, spiritually, and in business without having to try to figure it all out themselves. You know, again, one of the biggest strategies the enemy tries to use is this lie that, you know, you don't need him. You don't need them. All you need is Jesus. And all you need is just to stay on your own and keep following your own path. Well, listen, you can do that, but it will take you a long, long time to do that. Why? Because you're going to have to make all the mistakes yourself. When you learn from a mentor like me and you learn from a community of other artists, hundreds, even thousands of artists that are all over the world that are walking the same journey, all of a sudden you have the benefit of learning where all the holes are and where all the triggers are that release acceleration. So you don't have to make the mistakes that we've all made. You can learn from those and get change and get breakthrough in your life a whole lot quicker. Listen, my friend, we only open the doors to Created to Thrive a couple of times a year. If you're a regular listener to the podcast, you probably know that. And if you're sitting there right now and you're thinking, you know what? I know I'd love to do that, but I've just never done anything like this before. I've never invested in myself. I've never paid for help. I've never been a part of any kind of program. I don't want to mess it up. I don't want to start something and not finish it. Listen, all of that. All of that is just a big smoke screen keeping you from actually stepping into the thing that God has called you to do. If I could sit down with you right now one-on-one and just tell you stories, I would tell you story and story after story of people who, when they made a decision to become a part of the program, God absolutely bowled them over with provision and breakthrough and opportunity like they'd never seen before. It's a spiritual principle. When you say yes to the thing that God's called you to, and you say yes to investing in your journey. All right. However, he's called you to do that. There's a release that happens. The favor of God begins to be released in and through your life. And listen, I don't know for you if the mentoring program is the next step for you, but I promise you if you will take the next step and become a part of the program, God will show up. God will move in your life. I will do everything I can to stand with you, to walk with you, to be a support to you. Our community will come around you and we will walk with you. as you learn to realign your heart and mind and learn everything you need to learn to grow and thrive as the artist that God's called you to be. Listen, it's a very limited opportunity. We only open the doors for a few days here in January, a few days in September. Doors are closing February the 1st. There's some limited bonuses that are going to be going away on that day as well. Some things we've never done before that are only available this time. And I'd love for you to be able to take advantage of that and join us inside Creative Thriving this year. be your breakthrough year. All right, my friend, I love you very much. I'll see you next time on the podcast. I hope that I see you inside created to thrive. And until next time, remember you were created to thrive. All right. Bye.
