Exciting announcement time, Thriving Christian Artists!

I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve just released a 10th anniversary edition of my first book, “Unlocking the Heart of the Artist!”   I have so enjoyed revisiting the book and revising the book with new stories, new revelations, and new updates from the last ten years of stepping into my own calling from the Lord and raising up this army of artists to go out and reveal His glory to the world!  Revising the book after 10 years has truly been a joy, and I’m excited for you to experience it!  We’re also releasing it on audiobook and ebook so you have lots of options!

In today’s episode of 5-Minute Mentoring, I’m reading an excerpt from Chapter 5 of the book, where we’re talking about discovering the Father’s heart for you through the story of the Prodigal Son, which is one of my favorites.  Tune in and listen - I hope these words resonate with you and are a blessing along your own journey to discovering the Father’s heart for you!

And make sure to visit me over on Instagram and YouTube, where I’ll be sharing more excerpts of the book and what it was like to revise my own art after 10 years!

SPEAKER_00:

Have you ever wanted to have someone in your life who you could ask real questions about your art, your business, and even your walk with the Lord? Well, that's exactly what we do every Friday here on 5-Minute Mentoring, where I answer one question from one of my awesome podcast listeners in order to help you start really thriving as the artist you know God created you to be. Well, hey there, my friends. So glad that you're with me today here on 5-Minute Mentoring. Listen, I'm so excited because today is the day that we're announcing to the world that we have re-released a revised version of Unlocking the Heart of the Artist. It's a 10-year anniversary revision, and I'm so excited about it because we've been working hard behind the scenes this last year to really bring new revelation, new updates to this classic book now that's gone all over the world and helped thousands and thousands of artists, hopefully just like you, step into the fullness of who God's called them to be as an artist in the kingdom. I want to encourage you to grab this new book. It's got a brand new cover, new endorsements. It's got new information, revised writing. All the chapters have been redone. Most of it is, you know, the original book, but there's a lot of additions that I've put into it as well and new stories. You're going to absolutely love it. In addition, we've also done an audio book as well. So however you want to consume this book, we want to make sure that you have the ability to do it in this 10-year anniversary revision. And I'm going to be taking this month on 5-Minute Mentoring to actually read some short excerpts of Parts of the book that are sort of my favorite and some things that I think are really worthy of highlighting in this story of Unlocking the Heart of the Artist. And one of those is out of chapter five today. It's out of the chapter talking about discovering the Father's heart for you. You know, if you've heard me at all teach about God's love and about redemption and about our place in the kingdom, you know that the story of the prodigal son is really, really close to my heart. Right out of Luke 15, where Jesus is giving us this picture of who the Father is. And even in our messed upness, He loves us unconditionally and gives us the ability to walk away. And yet He comes running after us and lavishing us with grace and mercy and redemption and restoration. I mean, it's such the perfect picture of the kingdom. And I wanted to read a little excerpt here just to highlight the beauty of this story and also to give you my thoughts on it. It starts on page It says this awesome story, isn't it? I just got through the book sharing the prodigal son story. Says this story causes me to weep almost every time I see it portrayed in film, music or theater because it hits so close to home. That kid who knew it all but wanted to run and do his own thing. Yet he found nothing but broken emptiness at the end of a long journey of self-indulgence. That young man was me. But who was this father? I mean, really, for me, this idea of a father who loved unconditionally and held no record of my rebellion was too good to be true. Honestly, about the only believable person in the story was that of the self-righteous older brother. Yet this story is one of the most beautiful pictures God has used to reveal himself as father to his children. God's profound display of grace, mercy, and love beyond reason. is especially poignant for artists because many of our stories look just like his, broken and tired, empty and wasted, longing to find the loving father we never believed existed. Sadly, many artists have yet to come to know the loving embrace of the father who longs for them. That, my friend, is one of the key reasons I wrote this book, to help other artists like me who are on the journey home, wondering what lies at the end of the road. Have you come to know the Father's loving embrace? Understanding the Father's heart for you is key in your desire for home, your willingness to approach the Father and allowing Him to unlock the treasure of creative expression He deposited inside of you. God's not looking for some stoic religious exercise from you, neither does He want you to just roll over and become a robot. He wants all of you to receive all of Him in order to bless your socks off and impart abundant life to you beyond any Anything you thought possible. God wants to awaken his creative DNA within you and flow spirit led inspiration through your life like you have never imagined possible. He created you. He knows you. loves you and accepts you right where you are, how you are and who you are. No strings attached. You're God's child. And through Jesus, he's made a way for you to be fully restored into his kingdom and experience life far beyond your wildest dreams. My friend, I hope that that resonates with you today as you're listening or watching. And I hope that you'll grab the book, Unlocking the Heart of the Artist. If you've read it before, if you've never read it, please allow this book to be a means of grace in your life as I share my story of transformation inside the book and the story of thousands of others who've read it over the years. I hope it's going to be a big blessing. All right, my friend, you know I love you very much. Until next time, remember you were created to thrive. All right, bye.
