Bill:for having me. Venice,
Venice Sullivan:you bet. He's been a client with me for a number of years. And I'm gonna let him tell you how he came to hope Waldensian Institute, my
Bill:wife brought me to hope wellness Institute, partly because I had had meningitis a year or two before. I had been working on what I thought at that point would be recovery, and wasn't doing very well along that path. I had been told by the doctors that I was permanently disabled for the rest of my life. And they had offered me relatively large quantities of pain meds, with an expectation that
Venice Sullivan:So one of the things I remember the first time I spoke with you is how slowly you were able to respond.
Bill:Yeah, but that was really fast compared to how I could respond be a couple of years before that.
Venice Sullivan:So I think I've heard you say that. People would ask you a question. And then what happened?
Bill:First of all, this was mostly friends I really wasn't in a position to go out and meet the public. Not physically but but simply that would have been overwhelming for me. And so in a quiet conversation with friends if we invited a couple over for the evening or something i I'd be in a conversation with someone and they get up and walk away because they thought that we were done. And I
Venice Sullivan:That sounds really frustrating.
Bill:Oh, yeah, well, but it was also I took it as informative and realized, I knew off the bat, I'd had meningitis, I'd had brain surgery, I realized that there were some things that I couldn't do. And it was helpful for me to better understand how other people perceive that. And so yes, there's certainly a level of frustration with not being able to pull things together. And I still don't speak
Venice Sullivan:You talked about the pain meds that they had given you initially? Are you still taking pain meds?
Bill:You know, I, it, they had prescribed major pain meds from the very beginning. And in the beginning, I didn't, my brain wasn't processing pain well enough. That it, it hurt. And I didn't understand why I would want to take the major pain meds I was taking maximum doses of Tylenol through the first year, but not the major pain meds that they had expected me to be on, because I simply
Venice Sullivan:Right. So tell me a few ways that your life has changed. I know we did some medical massage with you.
Bill:We did. There was you recognized early on that I with the meningitis, that there were a lot of things that were going on with the muscles. And I'll say the structure of my head of my neck and my body was very much working to protect rather than to function. And early on, you did a lot of very good work to help my body to move past that at least I'll say in the initial stages. i One of the
Venice Sullivan:One of the things I find that a lot of people don't understand is any surgery creates scar tissue. Oh, yeah. And that scar tissue can create its own pain and patterns in the body from one end to the other. And I know we worked pretty extensively with breaking up some of that scar tissue so your body could move and function better than it had before.
Bill:Yeah. Huge.
Venice Sullivan:What was your next step after that? Was that the brain program?
Bill:We did the brain program. We had done some, some testing on some of the brain programs that you had looked at before Cereset and then moved as as you found Cereset because my brain had responded to sound waves Wii U had me is for Cereset to evaluate how, how well it worked. And
Venice Sullivan:I want to take a minute here and explain a little bit about Cereset. Cereset is a technology program that we use to let the brain relax and help itself heal. Whether it's an injury or an infection as Bella's had or drama and trauma And certainly, when you have an infection like you had, which is I remember came pretty close to you not being here anymore. That causes its own trauma.
Bill:Yeah, I I was very lucky, my wife was headed out the door, she asked me a question, probably about what, something for dinner? And my answer was green. She decided that really wasn't a valid answer. And had she gone to the gym and come back, I probably wouldn't have been there. So
Venice Sullivan:that creates its own trauma and drama, you know, and, and patterns in your brain. So Cereset, what we're doing is putting sensors on your head, picking up your brainwaves, converting them to sound and playing them back to you. And that gives the body the brain the ability to see what it's doing, and starts changing itself and healing. And for you, that process has been extensive,
Bill:Absolutely. I mean, starting out. We I knew that there. The meningitis was bacteria that were inside my brain, they were mentioned at the connections, we knew that it was damaged, we knew certainly couldn't know ability to go in and to reconnect the different connections that were missing. Didn't know how badly damaged except that I was, you know, classified as as permanently disabled.
Venice Sullivan:Right? Bill is giving us incredible information here on his healing process. But if there's anything in this conversation that is tweaking your thoughts and going, you know, I have some issues with my brain, or, you know, with my body with scar tissue with injuries, pick up your cell phone right now and give us a call dial pound 250. and when prompted, say "Relax My Mind" We
Bill:One of the things is is initially a was over my nervous system, my thinking was overwhelmed by going through and addressing all of the different things that I might have a negative trigger towards you were able to reduce that overall stress load. So that then I experienced it as being a having more capacity to do the things that I wanted to do. And to hold a conversation to go out in
Venice Sullivan:And that's the big thing is all these things that are negatively impacting our life and I call it neurological stress. That's what it is, is it's taking up our band unwed, it's taking up all of our energy. So we can't, and don't have the energy to enjoy life, to go out with friends to do anything more than sleep at times, or to have the capacity to heal. Our body uses a huge amount
Bill:One of the challenges that I've had since the meningitis has been, I'll say, capacity to process sensory information, whether it's hearing sight, any kind of sensory information I do, okay, but not the capacity that I had before. Literally, on the first day in with the big laser, is sitting in the chair, I didn't have to do anything. And all of a sudden, I noticed that the bottoms of my feet
Venice Sullivan:And I actually remember when you first came in that it was hard for you to walk a straight line,
Bill:and just add a little support from time to time. Yes,
Venice Sullivan:you did. But you know, it's been a joy for me to see the changes in you. I'm curious, you talked about your wife, your earlier. What does she say about your changes? Well,
Bill:She's comfortable that we can go on a vacation. And we can do some things we can get away from the house, but we can go hiking, we can go to some places and do some things. She never said anything. And I appreciate that. But she we weren't able to take trips, because I wasn't able to write and she scheduling trips now.
Venice Sullivan:That's awesome. That's awesome. What have you heard today that has piqued your interest, you're going I want to explore that I want to see how I can change my life.
