USA's victory over Australia

How far USA can go in this tournament

What the cultural impact would be if the US won the World Cup

The rest of the World Cup matches!

SPEAKER_04

Guys, the World Cup keeps going, and the friendly foes keep going as well. We keep giving you guys all the action. And today is another day filled with World Cup glory because the U.S. dominated today versus Australia. Got a huge three points and now top the group and potentially could win the group if I think if Paraguay what is it if if they they win, if they're not going to be able to do that. I'm not sure because they could potentially win the group.

SPEAKER_03

I'm being honest with you, because I thought I always thought it was gold differential. And now Mexico is already secured first place, which I don't really understand because what did they lose to Chechia? And then South Korea beats South Africa like 7-0. You know? Yeah. I don't I don't understand how so I think it it has to be uh what do you call it? Uh like by direct matchup. So since Mexico already beat South Korea, they get first place. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't know. I have no idea, actually. I started talking about this thinking I knew, and I don't know because of this new World Cup structure and 48 teams and now best third place team. It's really messing me up because I thought it was gold differential. It was supposed to be gold differential, but now it's all throwing me off. All I know is that the US has completely secured a spot into the set the second round, the round of 32 by beating Australia. That's the only thing that matters. That's the only thing that matters. 2-0 get to shutout, and another brilliant performance by the Americans today. Shout out, shout out to Are we going all the way? Well, here's the question, right? Like that is the question. Is can the US actually go all the way? Is the US has have they actually proven that they're a worthy contender, or have they just beaten two teams that they're technically supposed to be?

SPEAKER_03

I think they've proven themselves to be a worthy contender. Yeah, these two teams they should beat, but I think it's not just the fact that they won, it's how they're playing. They're playing pretty good, man. Pachatino has these guys playing pretty good, and Australia beat Turkey. We were talking about Turkey being a sleeper in this tournament, maybe one of the dark horses. They beat them, and now we beat the Sakaroos. So I don't know, man. This team is looking serious right now. And pretty convincingly, too, right? It's not like it was a lot of back and forth. It was very and today we didn't have our best player either. We didn't have Polish.

SPEAKER_04

Polisic is still out, which we'll we can touch about on that a little bit later. With no Polisic, Ricardo Pepe comes in in his replacement starting lineup, which was a little questionable at first. But Potch, I feel like he was fooling us for the past year and a half, man, because he was couldn't get his good group of players or the core players that he wanted yet. Some players were taking breaks during the Gold Cup. I think that pissed him off, and he was rotating so many players. We didn't know who was going to start, where they were gonna start, whatever. And now it seems like he's got his core group of players, his starting 11 down pat, and boy, do they deliver. And like you said, they he's got these US team playing extremely well to the point where there's Europeans, there's South Americans that are asking themselves, are are the US really this good? Like, what is happening? Nobody ever expected this to happen from the US, and it's beautiful to see on home soil.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, Pochettino was definitely fooling all of us. We thought USA wasn't gonna do anything in this World Cup. They have the potential on paper, but it almost seemed like none of them really cared about the World Cup that was coming up, especially Pochettino too. Yeah. The way he he was calling the players that didn't make it. Well, he didn't call them, that was a thing. He emailed them.

SPEAKER_05

No, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So he didn't say a word to it.

SPEAKER_03

It was just Yeah, yeah. But this this team is looking good, man. I'm I'm I'm happy with with the way he's got him playing, and the three in the back, I think has been phenomenal for us. Serginho Desk playing that wing back position. He's looking good out there. And Anthony actually both of them. Both wing backs, Anthony Robinson and Sergino Desk both look very, very good in that wing back position. And that three in the back, that back line, it I feel very secure with that back line, besides our keeper, but he hasn't really got tested so much.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's it's kind of weird because at times it is four in the back, but when when we're in whenever we're in in an offensive position, it is three in the back, right? Alex Freeman turns into a little bit more of a center back. Uh when when we're defending, Anthony Robinson comes in a little bit more. But Serginho Dest is playing like a wing back, almost like a right winger.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he's definitely not a right back.

SPEAKER_04

And he had a phenomenal game. I boy did Serginho have a great game. He looked like a Brazilian player out there. Serginho. Literally, Serginho with an NH. Yep. Not an Eny.

SPEAKER_03

What a phenomenon. Looking like Dani Alves out there, like Cafu. Literally, and that's killing.

SPEAKER_04

I saw Serginho Des play at Barcelona for a year or two. I forget how long he was there. And he was very, very frustrating to watch because he's a very, very skillful player. But in the final third, he always seemed to make the wrong decision. He either crossed it when he needed to shoot, or he shot when he needed to cross, or he made a terrible cross, or he took an extra touch, he tried to dribble around one more player. And it's like, bro, like you you have to you have to make better decisions in this final third. And going forward, he's great. Defensively has always been his struggle. He hasn't been the best. And that's why Potch has him playing where he is because he saw, okay, this kid is really talented. He's really good down on the flank. He's good at taking people on, but I got another great defender behind him and Alex Freeman. Let's put them together and see what we can cook up this time.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because that was the big question coming into the World Cup. Who's gonna play right back? Freeman or Dest? And he said, I got one better for you. Let me play both of them. Let me give you both of them at once.

SPEAKER_04

Exactly, man. Man, and Alex Freeman scoring his first World Cup goal, the age of 21, the Orlando City Academy graduate now plays for Villarreal, son of Antonio Freeman, wide receiver for the Packers, NFL legend as well.

SPEAKER_02

What a hold up. I did not know that. That's the son of Antonio. No, I had no idea.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, this is Antonio Freeman's son.

SPEAKER_02

Wow. Nah I had no idea. This is him. First time I hear that.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. A super athletic family. This is his son. And so, son of a legend, NFL legend.

SPEAKER_02

That was badass. I had no idea.

SPEAKER_04

And he's out there playing in the World Cup, playing soccer. He didn't follow in his father's footsteps, playing playing football, like maybe a lot of people would have. And his father's super supportive. I heard that he would go out to Orlando City games wearing his son's jersey, would dap all the fans up, would get super supportive of the entire team. So he sounds like an amazing dude. And I can't imagine how proud he must be feeling right now after watching his son playing back-to-back World Cup games, getting his first World Cup goal, and playing amazing, by the way. He was barely, he's playing at Villarreal right now. He's barely gotten any minutes this past season. I don't know why, because he has been phenomenal this past couple of years.

SPEAKER_03

I think after this World Cup, they're definitely going to give some more chances. If he sticks around.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they might be calling him up from the Premier League or other bigger teams, but he had a great game and own goal made an appearance again. Here's what the U.S. has to do. Score an own goal for the first goal, and we get a win. So far, statistically, that's been proven to work for us. We can't take that back. We gotta keep going.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like we always get an own goal somehow. Always, especially in the World Cup, right? Or is that just me? I feel the last one we get an own goal as well. Was it against I don't even remember.

SPEAKER_04

I can't remember. I can't remember. I feel like we did. I can't remember if we're gonna go.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like the US always gets own goals.

SPEAKER_04

Here's another fun stat. This is the first time the U.S. men's national team has won back-to-back World Cup games since 1930.

SPEAKER_03

Freaking hundred years ago? Just about. Isn't that insane?

SPEAKER_01

First World Cup? Since the first World Cup.

SPEAKER_04

When there was like four teams? Right, exactly. When they were they were invited out of nowhere because they just needed somebody to beat. They haven't won back-to-back games since then. I was like, there is there is no way that's true. And it's true. We haven't won back-to-back World Cup games since then. So the U.S. are for real right now. Yeah. The U.S. are for real. And they're also undefeated in Seattle. They're uh let me get the right stat out. Hold on. Let me let me not mess this one up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they're like 7-0. Right. Let me see. Or like seven wins, one tie. We just gotta keep playing in Seattle. Yeah, which is a really nice pitch by the week, by the way.

SPEAKER_04

I love Lumen Field. U.S. Men's national team 7-0 and 0 at Seattle's Lumen Field. Also winning one friendly three Gold Cup games, one World Cup qualifier, and one Copa Medica Centenario game. So all I'm hearing here is we gotta continue playing in Seattle and we got to continue scoring an own goal to start off the game, and we will secure a World Cup in this country. That's crazy. Let's do it. Sign me up for that right now.

SPEAKER_03

I'll sign the petition.

SPEAKER_04

Change all the games. I think the next game is in LA over at SoFi Stadium. Let's bring it back to Lumen Field. Let's go back to Seattle. We don't need to go back to LA. Even though in LA we did beat Paraguay 4-1. So that the West Coast is treating us good. Yeah, let's just stay in the West Coast. Let's stay in the West Coast.

SPEAKER_03

I think if we get in first place, though, we play. I think it's in Dallas, is it?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know where we play. That we gotta draw on the map. It's like that one meme of that dude uh where he's got uh all the map, the the map all laid out, and he's trying to explain what's going on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. With the thumb tax, yeah. Everything connecting. Like that's what we have to do to figure out where we're where the US is playing next and who they're playing. But I'm listening.

SPEAKER_03

I'm excited, dude. I feel like the whole country's behind the team, right? Yeah. I mean, maybe it feels that way because it's in home soil, but it just feels like everybody actually cares about the World Cup that's going on right now.

SPEAKER_04

Everybody for the first time, I've I like if here's the thing. Since we've been in this country, I've always wanted to turn on ESPN or Fox Sports or whatever, and watch hear some sort of soccer-related news. And that never happened. ESPN being the leader, the wide leader in sports, or whatever the hell their slogan is. They never played any soccer. So I just never tuned into ESPN to hear about soccer. And now we got Pat McAfee, who's one of the biggest voices in sports, talking about soccer. Granted, he played soccer growing up. He's got people talking about the US men's national team. He's going to the games. We got Stephen A. Smith talking about soccer. Now he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

SPEAKER_01

He has no idea what he's talking about. He's talking about on his show. He's at least He has uh the guy from Men and Blazers.

SPEAKER_03

Roger Bay then. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

He's got him like every other day. He's got him there every day, Roger Bennett. What a beauty that guy is. I mean, Stephen A was asking Roger Bennett, is this the year that France finally won it? News flash, Stephen A. France has won it twice. So holy shit. Hold up. Paraguay just scored. Wait a second.

SPEAKER_03

Golaso, I think, too. I think Golaso.

SPEAKER_04

Hold on. I'm I'm behind you here. So we're recording this while the Turkey and Paraguay game is going on, and this is crucial for the first minute. Yeah, that's that's a nasty goal.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't get to see it, but I need to see this replay. It looked like it was a screaming from outside the box, right? Yeah, from outside the box. Yeah, I didn't get to see it, but I have no idea. Holy shit.

SPEAKER_04

Let's see. Galarza. Midfielder. Mathias Galarza for Atlanta United.

SPEAKER_03

That is a bottom right strike.

SPEAKER_04

Bottom right corner. What a way to start for Paraguay.

SPEAKER_00

That's big. Whoa! Nothing to keep it. That is a heck of a strike. What a start for Paraguay. Could not get down quick enough. Hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, that's a great start after the loss against the US. Damn, what's going on with Turkey right now?

SPEAKER_04

Hey man, I think Turkey Turkey came in thinking they were a little bit too hot. I don't know if you saw the videos of the players like before the Australia game, out of the ghouler, and the rest of them were like saying something on the lines of like they're scared, like they don't know who they're going up against. We're bigger than them. They lost 2-0. Really? Shit and I didn't know. Yeah, yeah. They were they were talking up. They were trying to get confidence and you know, trying to talk some smack. Hey, completely backfired. Yeah, it completely ended up biting them in the ass. So, but uh anyway, I forget what we were saying.

SPEAKER_03

We were talking about passing the fans and US and the fans. So like the whole country behind them.

SPEAKER_04

The these big sports network are talking about soccer. They don't even know anything about soccer. Dave Portnoy is talking about soccer. Dave Portno doesn't know shit about soccer. Steve. He's a Tottenham fan, you know that, right? Well, that's because they met up in like a pizza joint. So he started f he doesn't actually follow Tottenham, dude. He didn't even know what if he had known the history of Tottenham, he would have never followed them. He would have never agreed to. And now Harry Kane left him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, direct of all the so but he was funny though, because he was making he was making videos when they stayed up and they didn't go down. And then he was making fun of Arsenal too, I think, when they lost the Champions League final.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's like, Dave, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_01

And you look at the comments, it's like, what the fuck? When did you start supporting Tottenham out of all teams? Right, right.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, he did a pizza review with Harry Kane, and which by the way, he's also trying to come up with some US chance because he's in in Boston right now, where all the Scott, wow, where all the Scottish fans are, and they're all doing all these crazy chants. So he's trying to come up with some chance, but it is so corny. Like, I don't know if you're looking at his uh Twitter. I haven't seen that. I haven't seen the table.

SPEAKER_01

It is so corny, bro. It is the corniest chance ever.

SPEAKER_02

Like it's funny because it's Dave, right? But it's so freaking corny.

SPEAKER_04

I'll have to I'll have to go check those out because uh that I'll probably get a good laugh at that. Because that is one thing that we're the US is getting a lot of heat on is the chance. The chance that I believe that we will win.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not gonna lie, I like that, bro. I I like that chant. That's a pretty cool chant. You can't tell me it's not maybe it's just outdated now, but it's super outdated.

SPEAKER_04

It's kind of corny after a while. Like, I feel like we can come up with better stuff, but I mean, yeah, we can do other things, but I feel like it, I feel like it's very easy to make fun of Americans in the in the soccer culture just because it's not part of the culture here and all these things. So it's it's very easy. But the the way that the US men's national team is playing all the on the field is shutting everybody up because nobody expected it. And now people are starting to realize, okay, these guys came to ball out. They they're a legitimate contender, and in my opinion, they are the best team this World Cup thus far. In my opinion, I think they've played the best.

SPEAKER_03

I think over France? Well, they they do have two games. They played two games already. Yeah, they've played two games. They did better. France played really well.

SPEAKER_04

But in my England too, England played well. England did play well as well. I think those three. US, France, England have played the best this entire World Cup. Granted, everybody's only played one game. The US has played two now. It's overreaction. It's about, you know, yeah, seeing what we see. But if the U.S. continues defending like they are today, the they're playing that they are like they are today, they can be just as dangerous as Spain, as France, as Argentina. I truly believe that.

SPEAKER_03

They can be, yeah. I think so. They just gotta put that in their heads. I think and I think they do have that confidence right now. You see it? I was reading reports that after they beat Paraguay 4-1, it was like, all right, let's get back to work. Like they they did not get too high off that win, which is and that's the way it's gotta be. You just gotta get right back to work and do it again. And they did. Right back to work, get back to work.

SPEAKER_04

And it's and it's big, like we talked about it at the start of the episode. Doing it without Christian Polisich, who's your best player, he got injured the first game against Paraguay, came off in the half at halftime. It I'm a little concerned because I would have thought that by now he would be better, considering they're just saying, oh, it's a knock. It's just a knock. I just got kicked in the calf and I'm just trying to rest it. I think it's a little bit more serious than what they're making it out to be. Yeah. Because he wasn't even on the bench today. And I get that they're trying to not rush him, not protect him. I guarantee he's not gonna play against Turkey.

SPEAKER_03

There's no They're being very vague with his injury, they're not giving too many details. And I mean, listen, we qualified. If he doesn't need to play next game, fine. Let him rest. And then I just hope he's good for knockout rounds. Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

As long as he's good for the for the round of 32 match, that's all that matters. And if he's not ready, he shouldn't play against Turkey, especially because we're already qualified to the next round. I think it is still important to get first place because that does matter a lot, depending on who we will play next. But because I think if we if we wouldn't agree we play one of the best third place teams, which in my bracket, I think I have Bosnia in that in that particular matchup, if I'm not mistaken. And then after that, if things if the stars align in my bracket, it's gonna be Belgium. Let's let's let's take a look at this. Yeah. I'm pretty sure that's I'm pretty sure that's what I got.

SPEAKER_00

I can't remember if I put Morocco or no, Morocco's not in their group. Yeah, I think they play against one of the best third-place teams.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they do.

SPEAKER_03

And San Francisco.

SPEAKER_04

Which I'm pretty sure is I'm pretty sure it's Bosnia. I'm pretty sure I got them playing Bosnia next.

SPEAKER_03

Bosnia or it could be Canada too. I have them playing Bosnia next. That matchup I had Turkey against Canada, but I I I don't think that's gonna that's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_04

Turkey so you had Turkey winning the group?

SPEAKER_03

I did have Turkey winning the group. Oh, I had the US winning the group.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so I had I had US winning the group and then I have Canada winning the group as well. But I got But you have Canada winning the group?

SPEAKER_03

Well right now they're in first place, so yeah. And they play who do they play next? They play Switzerland next. They play Switzerland next. And they're both in first place.

SPEAKER_05

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so they they're they're so no, so it'll probably it'll it might be against Bosnia for sure.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think I have it against Bosnia as a round of 32, which that would be another beatable opponent, right? It's not gonna be easy, it's a World Cup, but it's another opponent that we can we can beat. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then Belgium, I think we can beat Belgium too.

SPEAKER_04

And I think we can beat Belgium as well. And then after that, it would be quarterfinals against Spain, and that's when it gets to the real test. That's when it gets to the real test. But that again, that's getting ahead of myself. The point is that the US is looking like a true contender in this World Cup. They're no longer here just to fill a spot, they're here to make their name be remembered. And these players know that they have the chance to be to put their names in the history books of US men's national team history. Because the furthest that the US has gotten is quarterfinals in 2002. And we in the last what has it been since 2002, we've only won one knockout game since. Yeah, that's pretty sad. That's it. And America should be sorry we haven't won a knock. Sorry, sorry, sorry. We haven't won a knockout game since 2002. That's what I wanted to say.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean it's pretty embarrassing. We we should definitely be up there with the big boys. But I think it all just comes down to our recruiting system, the people that are in charge. I mean, bro, America is the most diverse country in the world. You're telling me we can't get some Brazilians, some Colombians, some freaking Africans, some Portuguese people, whatever. Yeah, we're starting to, yeah, but we should have done this years ago, man.

SPEAKER_04

Years ago. Yeah. And now the team is looking so good. I really like the way Malik Tillman plays. I mean, I really, really like the way he plays. He is he creates, he recovers, he runs. He's he's everywhere. He's everywhere. He's like he's like a 10, he's an eight, he's a six, he plays every position in that midfield.

SPEAKER_03

We we might have one of the best midfields in the tournament. Yeah. McKenney, Adams, and Tillman.

SPEAKER_04

But all three played great. Adams did amazing. That ball he put through to Balogun, where Balogun, I don't know what happened to him today. He was really not on his best form. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, there was one that he was on, and then that defender, like I guess he didn't realize that defender was on him. Yeah, he like didn't realize the defender was right behind him. Big dude.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like the ball got caught between his legs. I don't know what happened. That should have been a goal, realistically. But Tyler Adams, the way he recovered the ball and immediately put it through to him, like, oh man, that was beautiful to see. But yeah, I agree with that. Here comes Paraguay. We have one of the best midfields in uh we do in the World Cup right now. For sure. And Malik Tillman. Malik Tillman kind of reminds me a little bit of Jude Bellingham, the way he plays.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, a little bit. A little bit. But he he's good. Because they're they're both very complete. Yeah. Like you can put them anywhere in the midfield and they would they would have performed very well.

SPEAKER_04

And they're gonna play well. I I I love watching Malik Tillman play. I wish Gio Reyna would have gotten a little bit more minutes. I thought that he would have gotten the the knot to start ahead of uh Ricardo Pepe, given Christian Polisich injury. I would have rather seen him. I would I want to see a little bit more of Zendejas as well. I want to see more of him. He's done really well over at Kluba Medica and League IMX. And Tim Well, I want to see a little bit of Tim We as well. The thing with Tim Wea is that he plays on the right, and that's where Serginho Dest and Alex Freeman are just tearing it up. So it's it's hard to do.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because I don't even think he's played, has he?

SPEAKER_04

Or he might have played a couple minutes against Paraguay, but he played, I think he came on against Paraguay, if I remember correctly. Today he didn't play. Today he did not play, no. But man, we the US is looking good. We're looking good. Like you said, the defense, Chris Richards and Tim Reem. Tim Ream? I mean, how are you talking about? 37 years old? Yeah, how old he is 37, 38. How are you? I thought his last World Cup was the last World Cup, the 2022. I did not think he was gonna make it to 2026. Reminding me of Mario Jeepes, bro. But but yes, that's a good comparison. That is a good comparison. Reminding me got the armband on, and there is nothing getting past him with the man bun and everything, he's just blonde. That's the difference.

SPEAKER_03

But I love that back three. I think we should just keep that. Have the two win backs and Anthony Robinson, who's playing like Marcello out there, Serginho Des playing like Danny Alves. Dude, tell me if Brazil didn't have Serginho Deste and Anthony Robinson right now, they would be killing it with those fullbacks. And and no, Brazil would kill to have those fullbacks right now.

SPEAKER_04

That is what that is a hundred percent true. Brazil does not have those type of fullbacks. That's the weakest.

SPEAKER_03

And not only that, and they're known for having strong fullbacks too.

SPEAKER_04

They are, and not only that, but Jerninho Dest, Alex Freeman, and Anthony Robinson, if they played for Brazil, they would be getting shouts as the best in the world at their positions, or one of the best in the world at their positions. Maybe for maybe they are so good. I Anthony Robinson is, in my opinion, one of the best left backs in the world.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

The Jedi. Beautiful. Beautiful.

SPEAKER_03

I think he's my favorite player on the national team, if I'm being honest with you. He's always just so consistent. He always plays good. Like I've never really seen a bad game from him. I've seen some mistakes, but like a bad game from him, like yo, this guy's playing like shit. No, I've never seen it.

SPEAKER_04

No, never.

SPEAKER_03

And that goal, did you see that goal he scored in the friendly against Germany?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, bro. That was probably the best goal that America has ever scored in their history. If you would have scored that in the World Cup, God bless.

SPEAKER_04

That would have been insane. But yeah, no, it's that guy's infinite. The US is giving everybody a reason to believe. Even Slawton is saying that the US has a reason to believe that they can win the World Cup. So Yeah, that's crazy that he's saying that. It it is. It is crazy, but it's it's not it's not that good. But he's a guy that's honest. So well, and they're and yeah, they're playing really good.

SPEAKER_03

And they're they're convincing, bro.

SPEAKER_04

They're a convincing team right now. Because you could you could have easily said, Oh, I was like a fluke against Paraguay. Like, we're gonna see against Australia what what what's gonna happen. And Australia is a tough team. Australia is a tough opponent. I don't care what anybody says. Australia always comes in, they're gritty, they're physical, they're a tough opponent to play against, especially in the World Cup. And anything can happen in the World Cup. We've seen it. We've seen it with Spain and Cape Verde, we've seen it with uh who was the other one, Congo and Portugal. We've seen it time and time again where it's the World Cup, anything can happen, right? So you cannot underestimate any opponent. And the US came and delivered once again.

SPEAKER_03

So you know everyone is looking at themselves right now and saying, okay, these gringos can play. Exactly. These gringos can play.

SPEAKER_04

These guys are for real. We gotta watch out for these guys because they they have home advantage.

SPEAKER_03

We got home advantage too.

SPEAKER_04

The thing with the U.S. at this point is that there is a lot of pressure on them, but at the same time, they got nothing to lose, man. They better go, they they might as well just go out there and give it their all and leave their hearts on the field. They're playing on home soil. You see the crowd, man, they're getting behind them. Typically, whenever you see, or in the past, right, like 10-15 years ago, you would go to a US game in America, and you would see 90% of the stadium was filled with the opposing fan base. Now, especially we play against Mexico. Yeah, Mexico is a whole different thing, right? But but now you're seeing the opposite, man. You're seeing a lot more Americans show out. I mean, the atmosphere in Seattle today looked immaculate. I really loved that atmosphere. The national and sold-out stadium. Sold-out stadium and the people singing uh Country Road afterwards with the with the players. That was amazing. Gave me chills. I loved it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I love this. This team is destined for big things at this World Cup. I think if we ever win a World Cup, I think we'll be in part with football. I think people in this country would really start getting behind soccer. Because the reason, the number one reason why Americans don't like soccer is because we're not good at it. If we were good at it, they would really start following. I'm telling you. And if we somehow win this World Cup, I'm telling you, soccer would be in par with football. I think it'll automatically surpass basketball. Automatically.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, for sure. I I think a lot more I think a lot more people. I think soccer is a lot more popular in this country than when people make it out to be. It is extremely popular. A lot of people watch the Premier League, a lot of people watch Champions League, and a ton of people watch the the summer tournaments, the Europe, the Euros, the Copamericas, the World Cups, all these things, men's and women's. And everybody's in tune with that. Now, if the yeah, if the US Men's national team gets to win a World Cup, forget about it. I mean, Americans are gonna be.

SPEAKER_03

But I'm talking about like, you know, like like a little kid from like Omaha, Nebraska. Like, Daddy, I want to go ahead and play soccer instead of freaking baseball or basketball or football. Yeah, you know, like an actual gringuito like coming up from like the suburbs of the country.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You know, like not from Miami or Orlando, nah, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Like straight up from like Omaha, Nebraska. You know, freaking boise, Idaho or something.

SPEAKER_04

Right. Daddy, I want to play some, I want to play me some soccer. Daddy, I want I want a soccer ball for Christmas, daddy. That's it. I want to play like Chris Richards. Right in the back. I want to be like Alex Freeman when I grow up, dad. I want to score in the World Cup like that.

SPEAKER_03

Those dads are gonna just be looking at their games.

SPEAKER_04

They're gonna be so pissed off. Now go on get, Johnny. Go on, get, put your pads on. Put your pads on, Johnny.

SPEAKER_00

We're going to football practice, boy. No soccer around here. Man, they'd rather take them fishing than go play soccer.

SPEAKER_03

Fishing, man. They'd rather we gonna fishing. Anything. We'll go fishing, Johnny.

SPEAKER_04

We're gonna fishing. But that that that probably will happen. That that's the that's the that's the dream. That's what we want to see. We want to kid we want to see kids in the streets of America playing soccer in every single street, pick up a soccer ball instead of picking up a a football or basketball. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but obviously.

SPEAKER_03

No, but I'm saying if if we do ever get to win a World Cup, I think the whole country would be like, okay, shit, we're good at this. Like Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

Let's let's all get my let me get my kid involved in all these things. Yeah, yeah. So it's gonna be it's gonna be great. I hope the US team keeps doing great and they keep playing well because I do believe that they can go very far if they do. So let's keep going, boys. Let's go potch. We believe in you.

SPEAKER_01

USA, USA, USA.

SPEAKER_04

What else happened today, man? So we got Turkey Paraguay going on right now. Paraguay is currently up one nil against Turkey. We also had Scotland versus Morocco shortly after the US-Australia game. Morocco won one nil. I think it was pretty convincing there. Uh I think Morocco, it was just a small margin of victory, but Morocco just showed why they continue to be a dark horse, excuse me, a dark horse in this tournament, because they could also make another big run continuing the way they played. They got a point against Brazil, which that's a tough opponent. That's a big upset in itself, and then they beat Scotland. They're not super flashy, not super dominant, but they they know what it takes to win.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And Brahim Diaz and this guy, what's his name? Ismail Saybari? Yeah. Well, the guy that scored. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's the second time that they're gonna be able to get the Saibari linked up. Yeah, Braheem Diaz and Ismail Saibari. That's the second time that they've linked up in this World Cup and almost identical, too. So that's that's a good duo to look for in this World Cup. Raheem Diaz is tearing it up, man. Like just watching him play. I love him. He's super energetic. And you know what's it though? There was only one player in Morocco that was actually born in Morocco in the starting 11 today. It was that guy from Jerome.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What was that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is a fun fact. Only one player that was actually born in Morocco. Uh-huh. Azadin Onati.

SPEAKER_03

From Jerome. So they got the plays from Gerona. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He was the only one born from Morocco. And then in in in the last game against Brazil, nobody started that was born in Morocco. So Morocco is just filled with people from uh from different countries.

SPEAKER_04

Wow, man, look at that. I did I did not know that fun fact. I'll have to look and dive deeper into it later. I did know that Curaçao is the country that has the most amount of players born outside Curacao playing for them. I think there's only one player who plays for Curacao that's born in Curaçao. The rest are from all over the place. So, but hey, it's not it's not just the US that's got people born all over the place either. It's uh it's a lot of all these other countries, man.

SPEAKER_03

So and Colombia is only one of the few teams that has every single one of their players born in Colombia as well. Or like born in their country. Crazy. So that is pretty crazy. I think they said it was only like five teams that are like that, that all their players were born in their country. Yeah, I mean, it's crazy how diverse the world has got. Yeah. Like, I don't know if the World Cup in the 80s or 90s was like this, you know?

SPEAKER_04

Definitely not. I don't think so. It's just so diverse now. It's very diverse. People are obviously immigrating all over the place. A lot of people are getting married to different people with different nationalities and backgrounds, so it allows for that child to choose for different countries, like Serginio Des, for example. Sergio Des was born in Netherlands to an American father and a Dutch mother, and he had the opportunity because of his American father to choose between Netherlands and the US. He ended up choosing the U.S. I don't think.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you got a bunch of French players everywhere, too.

SPEAKER_04

French players from everywhere.

SPEAKER_03

There's a total of 54 French players. I'm sorry, let me rephrase that. 54 players from Paris that are in the World Cup. Yeah, it's crazy. They're playing in different countries, yep.

SPEAKER_02

Wow.

SPEAKER_03

54 players that were born. Yep. Crazy, man. There's something in the waters in Paris that just produced good footballers.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. Would you look at that? Well, anyway, I don't even know what we're talking about.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, Morocco. Morocco beat Scotland. Scotland didn't really zero. Yeah, I think they had a lot of possession or whatever, but I mean, six shots on six total shots, zero on target. They're not gonna produce much doing that, right? I think Morocco won pretty convincingly. They could have even scored more. I think that's the only criticism that I would say is that if they were to play a bigger opponent like a Brazil, like a Spain, they gotta capitalize on those opportunities.

SPEAKER_03

But I gotta say, Scotland is kind of an uncomfortable team to play against, from what I saw. They seem a little annoying. Uh they're they're on they're uncomfortable, not an easy opponent. Tough to bring down. They remind me a little bit of like Atlético Madrid.

SPEAKER_04

A little bit. That's uh that's an interesting way to put it, yeah. Who did you have in this group going out? Like what positions did you have each?

SPEAKER_03

I had Brazil first, Morocco second, Scotland third.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's that's what I had to go into the next round.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, me too, as one of the best third place.

SPEAKER_04

Which I think I think they will, but I think Morocco will finish second. I think Brazil yeah, Haiti's done. Haiti's done, unfortunately. Uh I just wanted them to at least score a goal, right? I think they had a pretty decent show in against Scotland. I thought Scotland was gonna have a bigger margin of victory against them, but they ended up winning.

SPEAKER_03

I thought Brazil would have a bigger margin. Brazil really only won 3-0.

SPEAKER_04

That's true. That is true. I thought Brazil should have won like 6-7-0. 6-0. I thought Brazil was gonna win 6-0. And then getting into that game, right? Brazil completely dominated. Big blow to them is that Rafinha came off hurt in the first half.

SPEAKER_03

So now I think it's the same injury that he was uh carrying during the season. It's a muscle injury, from what I understand. So definitely can't risk him next game. And who knows how long? Yeah, I'm really upset about, but next game for sure has to be on the bench, can't be risked. Who knows how much longer Neymar is injured for two?

SPEAKER_04

I think this is the thing with Neymar. I was really excited to see him at the World Cup. It's now two games gone, and he has he still hasn't played. Don't really know when he's gonna make an appearance. So as some news outlets are saying he's not gonna make it until out of the groups, until Brazil's out of the group. And then you start to question like, was he actually fit to come? Is he was he actually fit to play in a World Cup? Why would you call him up if he wasn't, right?

SPEAKER_03

So But I mean, I think he was because he was playing before, and then I think he just got injured during the training. Right, he he one of the training sessions. It's also something Ancelotti might have not known. You know? That's something maybe like Neymar might have just kept that shit to himself because if it got out, definitely not going to the World Cup. So Ancelotti might have not even known about it if it was an injury that was lingering throughout the season. But he was playing until um yeah, like the very last game of the City A in Brazil. I think remember they like subbed him out and he didn't want to get subbed out, and I don't know, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well there was a crazy adversity going on with that because some people that whole time. Yeah, but then after that, that's when he had the injury.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, but but he got injured, I think, in training with Brazil though, right?

SPEAKER_04

Or was he already injured before he was already injured before he came to Brazil with the World Cup? He yeah, he was already injured.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, I don't know. I think he got I feel like that's something he wouldn't tell Ancelotti about, or Ancelotti wouldn't have known. Because I feel like if Ancelotti would have sniffed it, he wouldn't have called him up. Because he wasn't in the team this whole time.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't know. The the the the point is when are we gonna see Neymar? Is he actually fit to play? Because now that Rafinha's hurt, if it's a muscle injury and if it's the same muscle injury that he had all season, he's done for the tournament. He's not playing again, which is really sad because he's a great player and you want to see the best players play. Now, when will we see Neymar? Is it gonna be next game against Scotland? Is it gonna be in the round of 32? When are we gonna see Neymar play? That's that's the question that I want to answer, and that's what I want to see. I want to be able to see him play because he's a phenomenal player.

SPEAKER_03

And what level are we gonna get from him when he does come back? That's the thing. He's never played under Anchalotti. He hasn't played in the Cele Sau for what, two, three years?

SPEAKER_04

In a while, yeah. In a long time. We'll see. But Brazil beats Haiti 3 now, Morocco beats Scotland 1-0. Uh, we're starting to get everything settled in the groups. Yesterday, Mexico beat South Korea, kind of a fluke victory for them. It was kind of a pretty boring game. The South Korean goalkeeper made a pretty big mistake crashing into one of those players. Mexico wins 3-0, and they, like we talked about earlier, they topped the group. South Africa and Chechia. They still got an opportunity to battle it out the next game. But looks like pretty much Mexico and South Korea are gonna be the ones going through top two there.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, Mexico already guaranteed first place. And guaranteed to play at home. At least in the round of 32, and if they win that game, in the round of 16, they'll play at home too. Man, yeah, Mexico hasn't really huge, huge.

SPEAKER_04

Mexico hasn't really been playing super convincingly, but they're getting the results. They're getting the results. That's what's important.

SPEAKER_03

And South Korea is a respectable opponent.

SPEAKER_04

They're not just respectable, they're very good.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

They're really, really good. So I had that game. I thought South Korea might have been.

SPEAKER_03

I had South Korea come in. Yeah, I had South Korea coming in first in that group when we did our brand. Really?

SPEAKER_04

I had I had Mexico coming in first just because of the home field advantage. I really do think that makes a huge difference for them.

SPEAKER_03

It does. It really does, actually.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So I had Mexico coming in for the first time.

SPEAKER_03

Mexico just doesn't really have any good players.

SPEAKER_04

They they don't, and they haven't really been playing that well. They just, I mean, they played South Africa the first time played awful.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, South Africa is just terrible. But for me, Mexico right now is just Edson Álvarez, Julian Quiñones, Raúl Jimenez, and Raúl Jimenez, yeah. I mean, Santi Jimenez is not even playing. I'm surprised they don't play a double number nine. Probably so Quiñones doesn't have to defend so much.

SPEAKER_04

Who knows? Honestly, I I yeah, I don't know much about the Mexican national team these days, really. They've they've changed a lot, but I think that's a good one. He is, and he's probably gonna take over the head coach role after Javier Aguirre. That's basically what yeah, he's gonna take over that role after Javier Aguirre leaves. But what a legend. Yeah, seriously. Barcelona legend, Mexican legend. Love that guy. But and then group B, Canada's top in that group right now. Four points, Switzerland in second, Bosnia third, Qatar fourth. That's basically how I have them finishing out. Uh Canada get their first victory ever at a World Cup, and what a victory that was 6-0 against Qatar. Jonathan David Hatrick. Hat trick, second player horse, to score Hat Trick in this World Cup behind Lionel Messi. And the only sad thing coming out of this game was uh what was that guy's name? Ismail Kone. Right? Is that his name? Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know his first name, actually. I think it is Ismail, though. Sounds sounds right.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, Ismail Kone, yeah. Ismail Coney comes off with a broken ankle. You hate to see that. His World Cup is over. He was having such a good game, too. Only 24 years old. So you think Turkey just hit the post. Hate to see that. Yeah, you're you're ahead of me a little bit. But you hate to see that Coney misses the rest of the World Cup. Yeah. Ooh, yeah, they did hit the post. There was a bit of a scuffle uh towards the end between Canadian players and Qatari players, between Jesse Marsh and Julian Lopateggy. Yeah, I saw it. It looked like Lopateggi was basically complaining to Jesse Marsh. How come you guys kept scoring after we were down two players? News Flash Buddy, it's the World Cup. I'm gonna score as many goals as I fucking can.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you yeah, you can see Jesse was like, alright, dude, like stop talking to me. Yeah, like shut the fuck up.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna tell my pack your bags, head back to Qatar. Like, get get out of my face. Like, I'm gonna you're you matter of fact, get down on your knees and thank me for not scoring more than six goals because I should have put ten past you. Ridiculous, man.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, Qatar has no business being in a World Cup. They're dirty, they're not fun to watch. There's nothing pretty about Qatar. Nothing. Other than the country itself. The team, terrible.

unknown

Terrible.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the team itself, right? We ain't talking about the country. Yeah. Yeah, no, the team itself, not good. I mean. Yeah. Not good at all. They got completely annihilated by Canada. I was surprised they squeezed out a point against Switzerland. But at the last minute, too. At the literal last minute. I think that's their first goal in the World Cup. But anyway, that ends up group B for that. And then we had, yeah, group C today. Between USA and Australia. We talked about that. Group D as well. That's pretty much wrapped up. And tomorrow, man, we got more action. We got so much action this World Cup. It's it's awesome. I love it. Non stop, man. Nonstop. Tomorrow we got some good games. Heck yeah, we got good games. We got Netherlands versus Sweden. Ooh. But Sweden looked good. Ooh. A European classic right there. Then we got Germany versus Ivory Coast. I'm excited about that. That's gonna be a phenomenal game. Germany versus Ivory Coast. Jan Diamante had a phenomenal game. Last game for Ivory Coast. Here's a fun fact that I just found out. Do you know that this guy played in Daytona Beach? Yeah. He played at the DME Academy. DME Academy.

SPEAKER_03

Wild. Yeah, dude. And he played, I forgot what school he went to as well, but he went to uh oh my god, hold up. He went to like high school? What are you talking about? Yeah, I think high school.

SPEAKER_00

Hold up. Where did this guy go? Moved to the U.S.

SPEAKER_04

when he was 15 and joined E-Made Academy in 2022 after playing high school for Euli Hornets.

SPEAKER_03

Euly, yes.

SPEAKER_04

That's up here in Jacksonville.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

He played for the Yuli Hornets. He was named the 2023 Starry Player of the Year and also helped their affiliate team, Frenzy, to win the 2023 United Premier Soccer League Premier Division. Wow. Great to see. Yeah. Wait, Yon Diamande. Just hey, in our backyard. Isn't that crazy?

SPEAKER_03

In our backyard, dude. I know. Came to the U.S. And now he's about to go for like 120 mil.

SPEAKER_04

Who would have thunk that a guy from Africa from Ivor Coast had to come to the U.S. to get his big shot in soccer? That is pretty crazy. That is pretty wild. Hey, shout out to the DME Academy. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

You know what other what other young African player I liked that I haven't seen before?

unknown

Who?

SPEAKER_03

Ibrahim Mbaye from Senegal.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

18 years old. That dude, he sat Theo Hernandez on his ass when he scored that goal. Did you see that goal? Yeah.

unknown

Bro.

SPEAKER_03

He did sit him on his ass, bro. And just the whole game, too, he was just tearing it up, man. I was like, wow, who is this guy? And yeah, he plays for PSG. I mean, obviously he can't get into that squad, but I mean, shit. Like somebody might take him. I know he played for France too, like the like the youth team. The Champs wanted him. But he ended up going with Senegal. Just because France is so stacked.

SPEAKER_04

Don't blame him. I mean, he's only 18. This is what I love about the World Cup is seeing these young players like this shine. Yeah, shallcasing their talents. Yeah, showcasing their talents.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, that's that's a player that definitely caught my attention. He was like, wow, I I like watching this kid right now.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and we'll see him again on Monday, June 22nd against Norway.

SPEAKER_03

So I don't even think he didn't start against France again. No, he didn't start.

SPEAKER_04

He came off the bench.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Come off the bench and score it up against France.

SPEAKER_03

Tore it up.

SPEAKER_04

Good for him, man. Good for him. But tomorrow we got again, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, Kura Sau, and then at midnight we got Tunisia against Japan. Another day, jam-packed with action. We'll keep going at this, man. We got a lot going on. It's starting to heat up, but things are starting to get very interesting in this second round of the group stage because teams are starting to find out if they're going to go through or not. Some teams are starting to pack. They got to go back home. Other teams got to find out. Yeah, other teams got to battle it out for the third place, the second place, whatever it is. And then we got the knockout starting. Already, man. Already. We're already a week into this. It's been a week now since the World Cup. We got four more weeks to go.

SPEAKER_03

It's going by quick, man.

SPEAKER_04

It is going by quick, man. I almost don't I don't want it to end. Slow down. Slow down a little bit. I need time to process all these games. I feel like the U.S. game happened three years ago. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's already been it's already been too long since the U.S. game happened.

SPEAKER_03

The final will be in exactly a month. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_04

Well, let's see. Who's gonna be there? Who's gonna be there? I got Spain and Argentina in the final. I got Portugal and Argentina. Portugal and Argentina in the final.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. What? Portugal and Argentina. How crazy would that be? That would be crazy. The last World Cup for Ronaldo and Messi, and they play in the World Cup final.

SPEAKER_04

Speaking of Portugal.

SPEAKER_03

A football fan's dream.

SPEAKER_04

Hold on. Speaking of Portugal, did you see this whole drama that's going on with Portugal right now? No. What? Did you see what Gerald Nevis said that people are completely losing their mind over?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw that. So yeah. That he that Ronaldo's like not that different or something like that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think people are overreacting. He did not mean to bash Ronaldo in any way. I think he was basically just saying, like, he's one of Ronaldo's just one of us. Exactly. He's just saying Ronaldo's one of us.

SPEAKER_03

I don't necessarily be so Because there is that stereotype right now that Ronaldo is not really loved by his Portuguese teammates, like how Messi is loved by his Argentinian teammates. So I mean that kind of is the media's taking that and running away with it.

SPEAKER_04

That is that is also true. It is true that the Portuguese teammates don't love Ronaldo as much as the Argentinians love Messi. Yes, it is true. That is true because if you tell any Argentinian player in that squad right now, if Messi were to go up to them and say, Hey, I need you to take a bullet for me, they would do it without even thinking about it. They would where do you need me? Where when is it? Bro, he I'll be there.

SPEAKER_03

He doesn't even have to finish the sentence. He'd be like, Yes, Messi, yes, I got you. Like he he already knows exactly how he wants it. He knows how much tea to put in there, he knows how much water to put in there, he knows which cup he likes it, he knows which way the straw goes, like everything. Rodrigo de Paul knows everything about Leonel Messi's Mate.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So that part is true. I mean, the Argentinian players are willing to literally give up their lives for Messi. I don't know if the Portuguese players will do the same for Ronaldo, but that's beside the point. The point is.

SPEAKER_03

I think if Messi, if if Messi asked one of his teammates to sleep with any of their wives, they would say, Oh, yeah, of course. Here you go.

SPEAKER_01

Here you go. I 100% believe.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, man, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

They wouldn't even hesitate. They would just be like, Messi meeting.

SPEAKER_04

Here you go. Yeah, but I think these comments by Gerald Nevis have been taken completely. I mean, it's been a little bit dramatic, in my opinion. I didn't think what he said was bad at all. I think he was just basically saying he's one of us, like he's part of the team. We're happy to have him here. He's one of the greatest ever. We're happy to have him here. I think that they were completely overreacting about what he said. And I don't know. Who knows if it's causing drama within the locker room itself? I have no idea. It's hard to tell. We'll find out whenever they play.

SPEAKER_03

All Gerald Nowis has to do is like, bro, this is what I meant. Or this is how I meant it. And Ronaldo would be like, don't worry about it, man. I I've been going through this for the last 20 years.

SPEAKER_04

Well, but also, also, I don't even think it's like that because Ronaldo's sister is always getting involved, man. She put up a story basically saying, like, something along the lines of D. She got involved? Yeah. These players like don't don't give don't give their hearts out for the team. It's all they don't, they don't, they never pass the ball forward. She says something along those lines. But she's always getting involved. It's like, listen here, lady. Stay in your lane. Shut up. Go watch the game. Sit on the couch. Watch it like every other fan. Don't post anything on social media. Stop doing that. You're making it worse. Shut up. Right? This is why. This is what I'm saying is that gonna cause problems in the dressing room? Because it's not just what Joao Nevis said, it's what Ronaldo's family said.

SPEAKER_03

What his sisters would have said.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and she's always on social media saying some shit. I genuinely think Ronaldo handles her account from time to time, but.

SPEAKER_03

You're just a Ronaldo hater. You're probably the one in those DMs saying Ronaldo, you suck.

SPEAKER_04

I've actually never DM'd him, so.

SPEAKER_00

And I don't think he sucks. I've DM's Messi before. What'd you say?

SPEAKER_03

You said you ruined my life.

SPEAKER_00

You ruined my life.

SPEAKER_03

When did you said that? Dude, that was like uh what like 2012, 2013? Around there. You ruined my life.

SPEAKER_00

We couldn't win La Liga. Did he ever respond? No.

SPEAKER_03

Damn. It would have been pretty funny if he came back with like a donkey emoji or something. Like how he didn't know.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, that's what he did to Jamie Carragher. I forget what Jamie Carragher said about him that pissed him off so much. I don't even know.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know, but apparently Messi has declined all their invites because of Jamie Carragher. Yes. I I can't what? Hold on. I have to find that out. Hold on. Which is funny because Jamie Carragher always calls him the goat. He prefers him over Ronaldo. Yeah, he does. So it's funny.

SPEAKER_00

Neither Ronaldo nor Messi like him. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

What did Jamie Carragher's comments on Skyports where he stated that Messi's high profile transfer to PSG was not smart business and that the team wouldn't win the Champions League. So he got pissed because Jamie Carragher said that essentially Messi wasn't gonna win PSG the Champions League. Which he didn't. He didn't, yeah. His boy Dembele did. I didn't I don't think that's like that bad of a comment, but man, it really pissed Messi off because he doesn't he sent him a donkey emoji.

SPEAKER_03

Paraguay Paraguay Red Card.

SPEAKER_00

Miguel Almiron. No. I gotta see this. I haven't seen it.

SPEAKER_03

And that's a new rule. You can't you can't do that. You can't do that anymore.

SPEAKER_00

That's the Vinny rule. Yeah, that's the Vinny rule. What did he say? Well now you know you can never do that. Oh shit. Damn. And a player so experienced like I mean too.

SPEAKER_03

Damn god that could come that could definitely come back to bite that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's gonna have a whole nother 45 minutes.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, what an idiot. Damn. That's such a dumb way to leave it. Yeah, it really is.

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_04

He just probably just forgot about it because he's so used to doing it. So hey, that'll teach him a lesson real quick. Don't do that again.

SPEAKER_00

He might not get to, bro. He's how old is he, like 35? He's up there, man. I th I I'm pretty sure he's up there, man. He's he's old. He's definitely in his He's 32. Okay. He's 32. He might have one more in him from coming off on the bench.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, these he's still got a whole tournament, but he's not gonna play the next game. So Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly. We gotta see if they qualify is what I'm saying, because I mean yeah, right now they're winning, but if they lose this game and the next game, then that's kind of crazy.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know how I feel about that. That's kinda wild to be red carded for that. I mean it depends on what he said. Because the Turkish player immediately went to go tattletale on him.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh. So I wonder what he said, or if he just if he just said, hey, he just covered his mouth, yeah. That's a red card. Yeah, because he could have said I like your hair today or something like that, you know? Right, yeah, but he he d I don't know. If he covered his mouth, he definitely wasn't saying that.
