Harrison Burker is an American football kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL. He is fourth in NFL history in field goal percentage. The following are excerpts from his address to the graduates of the Benedictine College in Kansas on May 11 that I found pertinent to this episode.
"The world around us says we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are afraid to tell the truth, because now, unfortunately, the truth is in the minority.
To the ladies here today, congratulations on an incredible achievement. … I want to speak directly to you briefly because I believe it is you, the women, who have been told the most diabolical lies. … Some of you may go on to have successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that most of you are more excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.
I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say that her life really began when she began to live out her vocation as a wife and as a mother. Today I am on stage and I can be the man I am because I have a wife who leans on her vocation. …
She is an elementary educator for our children. She's the one who makes sure I never let football or my business become a distraction from that of a husband and father.
To the gentlemen here: Part of what plagues our society is this lie that you have been told that men are not needed in the home or in our communities. As men, we set the tone of the culture, and when that's absent, disorder, dysfunction, and chaos set in.
Don't regret your masculinity, fighting against the cultural emasculation of men. Do hard things. Never settle for what's easy. …
Hello, today is Tuesday, June 4, 2024, the year of the Lord. Welcome to episode No. 62 and the fourth episode of the third season of our podcast GREAT SCIENTIFIC FRAUDS.
I am your host, Dr. Esteban Morales van Kwartel.
Postmodernism is a philosophical, cultural, and artistic movement that emerged in the late 20th century as a reaction to the intellectual and philosophical ideas of modernity. Modernism was the previous philosophical current, hence the name of this new current. It is opposed to the idea of a natural, objective reality independent of the human being and is noted for its scepticism. Its main characteristics are: it considers that truth is a matter of perspective or context, rather than something universal or absolute; Everything is handled according to how it is interpreted. Language shapes the way we think, and there can be no thought without language. This same language is capable of creating, in a literal way, reality.
With this short description it is enough to realize that this philosophical thought goes directly against the Christian conception of the human being, the universal Truth revealed by God, the absolute and universal truth of the existence of two sexes; and a large part of the values that come from our Judaic-Christian heritage. This trend has been sold quite successfully to young people around the world, which explains these generational changes that we are witnessing and have us distressed.
This philosophical thinking has given rise to the emergence of ideological activists who seek to break with the primacy that modernity gave to the subject and reason, using the strategies of action typical of existentialism and deconstruction.
In this episode I will continue to unveil these objectives, using the protagonists' own approaches.
Posmodernism and gender theory. 05:48
I will continue to analyze the narrative presented in Riki Wilchins' book, "Queer Theory, Gender Theory: An Instant Primer", because as I told you in the previous episode, it is widely used in most of the universities of the United States, for teaching, what I would call indoctrination about this ideology.
This is very worrisome because our youth is influenced by anguished, confused souls and I could even say minds that are a little dislocated; it is enough to read what he writes to realize this: (I quote) "Laqueur forces us to confront the frightening and dislocating idea that, like our textual language, the visual language of bodies is not transparent either. Here we see a clear reflection of postmodernist thought, which states that this same language is capable of creating, in a literal way, reality". This explains why the proponents of this are so demanding in imposing the use of their language: their pronouns, their genders, etc. They have distorted the concepts of inclusion, diversity and equity, to suit their purposes and fill them with a political content that has produced division.
In his words, this distressing existentialism is also revealed: (I quote) "As belief changes, vision can also change... We rely on our belief in that vision to inform us about what is ultimately real and out there. This might seem like another recipe for the irrationality and uncertainty of the Abyss, where nothing is known or taken for granted". That is, they create and defend their own reality, according to their own imagination, beliefs, and circumstances.
In one of its parts, the author, as advocated by postmodernism, links queer theory to politics, that is, to context; to language and difference, with which they seek their identity and power. In this sense, she sees feminism as a power struggle, but one that should not stop at aspects of equal opportunities with that of men, but rather the search for the right to "masculinity" itself.
For her, this struggle has achieved great successes in obtaining men's jobs, in the exercise of power and in access to men's sports, the ultimate aspiration is for women to be truly masculine. This, as we will see in future episodes, does not stop at the aspiration to have "masculine" women, but goes all the way to the right to change sex.
The universal, absolute, and natural truth of the existence of two sexes, established in Genesis and which has been the subject of encyclicals and declarations of pontiffs, as we have been seeing, is the main target of criticism and attacks by those who advocate gender ideology. However, the author finds it very difficult to attack and ultimately eliminate, due to its great universal acceptance and its rootedness in the culture of the world. This is why she raises in her book the need to make a gradual attack. She goes on to say that the biggest obstacle to achieving this goal is the existence of "patriarchal thinking," which she describes as "the fiction that this is the way of nature." Here she considers postmodernism "particularly well prepared for this."
But she also sees "masculine masculinity" and "feminine femininity" as obstacles and obvious targets of attack, for whose permanence she blames classical feminism. So, for them, both a man's masculine behavior, which they call "toxic masculinity," and a woman's feminine behavior must go. In his book, he argues that something new must emerge, which are "masculine femininity" and "feminine masculinity". This means that not only sex is attacked, but also gender. In fact, she sees, as Thomas Lacquer advocates, sex as a gender, without any distinction between one or the other. In this context she asks the following question: (I quote) "What if sex, the original, transcendent, universal fact, could be deconstructed?"
More details on this in the next section.
Postmodernism as a weapon of attack. 11:41
I had mentioned in the previous section that the proponents of gender ideology, given how entrenched heterosexual, two-gender culture and the historical values of society still were, it was necessary to attack and dismantle these piecemeal. But this goes even further. In one part of his book Riki Wilchins mentions, and I quote: "We may have to bombard the discourse to undermine it completely".
They believe that postmodernism has the necessary tools for this. They evoke their history and experience of deconstructing everything: the relationship between opposite-sex couples, the white race - which they call whiteness - even the culture itself, which they see as an obstacle to their agenda. Thus we see how the busts of the founding fathers of the United States are being torn down. The whole of national history has been distorted, children's education polluted, etc.
The author considers that the tools of postmodernism are well equipped for this purpose. He expresses it in his book when he says: (I quote)
"Postmodernism has spawned a powerful set of tools for dismantling arguments... That's great for the fight for gender rights, because that's exactly what we want to do".
One of the reasons for this deconstruction is that they see the prevalent gender system as a system of oppression, in their own words: "this box for girls" and "this box for boys." But another reason is to, in his own words, (quote) "help provide new legitimacy to those on his margins, including transsexuals, intersex people, and transvestites¨. But this goes even further; They openly state that their struggle includes helping to subvert the stereotypes of masculine men and feminine women.
All those who dare to defend Judaic-Christian values on sex and gender are immediately attacked or canceled. Harrison Burker, the brave young NFL player whose words I transcribed at the beginning of this episode, referring to the role of men and women, to the advantages and beauties of masculinity and femininity, has been attacked and canceled by various major media outlets; Even her speech was edited by a supporter of gender ideology, changing the whole message. A few days after his speech, his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, announced that he could be removed as a kicker, using new NFL rules as an excuse. But coincidences don't exist.
Conclusions and farewell 15:35
The objective sought is therefore very clear. The idea is to use the toolkit of postmodernism, with its focus on subverting universalist claims of knowledge and meaning, to dismantle arguments and diminish the power of the prevalent concept of the two sexes: male and female, as created by God, and of two genders male and female. This, with the idea of allowing the appearance of "different things". But, as we are reminded in the document Dignitas infinita, sex and gender can be distinguished, but they cannot be separated.
With regard to these claims to create something different, I would like to quote two paragraphs from the same document Dignitas infinfta: (I quote) ... "It is unacceptable that certain ideologies of this kind, which claim to respond to certain aspirations that are sometimes understandable, seek to impose themselves as a single way of thinking that determines even the education of children".
And in another paragraph he tells us: (I quote) "Wanting to dispose of oneself, as prescribed by gender theory, without taking into account this fundamental truth of human life as a gift, means nothing other than giving in to the old temptation for the human being to become God and enter into competition with the true God of love that the Gospel reveals to us".
Before concluding, I want to go back to Tomás Lacquer.
Important proponents of gender theory, such as Riki Wilchins and others, have been influenced by this author, adopting a tough and uncompromising stance, which in turn has been transmitted to his followers. However, his position on the existence of only one sex or, rather, gender, which he favors, implies seeing the woman's body as an "inverted man", which is not very edifying for the woman: (I quote)
"In the single-sex model, dominant in anatomical thought for two thousand years, the woman was understood as the inverted man: the uterus was the female scrotum, the ovaries were testicles, the vulva was a foreskin, and the vagina was a penis. This account of sexual difference, ... it did not reveal any real female interior, only the displacement inward, to a more protected space of the male organs…"
A careful reading of his book reveals to me that it is the product of a deep and honest reflection of history on the evolution of sexual theory seen from a mind with a deep philosophical and historical background and that it is really open to discussion and research on the subject.
