The show is back, with a new name and a clearer picture of who it's for.

In this kickoff episode, Kacey welcomes returning listeners and new ones, draws the line on what Simply Healthy Hormones is — and just as importantly, what it isn't. No restriction. No moralizing. No fourteen-bottle protocols. Just real information about what's actually happening in your body, delivered like you're the smart, capable adult you are.

If you've been told your labs are normal but you know they're not, if you've spent a small fortune on supplements that didn't work, if you're tired of being the strong one and want someone competent to actually take the wheel — start here.

Follow the show so you don't miss what's next. And if this episode named something for you, send it to a woman in your life who needs to hear it.

[00:03] Kacey: This is simply Healthy Hormones, the podcast for women whose body stopped cooperating after 35 hormone help, minus the bullshit. I'm Casey Cain, integrative Health practitioner, holistic nutritionist, and the person you call when your labs are normal but you're not.

[00:17] With multiple certifications in integrative health nutrition and a master's in psychology, I help high functioning women figure out what's actually going on in their bodies and then I trust them to do something with it.

[00:27] No restrictive rules, no supplement spirals, no taking your coffee away.

[00:32] The real science of what's happening to you explained like you're the smart, capable, grown ass woman you actually are. I'm glad you're here.

[00:43] Hi, welcome back to the show. Or welcome if this is your first time here.

[00:48] This show used to be called simply Healthy youy. It was on air for I think two or three years and went on hiatus in late October 2023.

[01:00] And for a variety of reasons, business was growing. Good reasons. I started doing functional medicine lab packages at that time and just, you know, spent a lot of time on my clients and building out services and then always wanted to get back into the podcast and didn't really have the space to do it.

[01:18] And now here in 2026, I have the space. I have adjusted some things in my business and I'm really,

[01:25] really excited to start this back up again. No matter if you have been here since the beginning or you are just joining me for the first time. Either way, I'm really glad you hit play today.

[01:36] If you've been around for a while, you notice a couple of things are different. The show has a new name, simply Healthy Hormones. And if you scroll back through the archives, you'll see the old name is still on some of those episodes.

[01:47] That's intentional. Nothing about what I teach has fundamentally changed because the science hasn't fundamentally changed. That's where I base all of my information off of the framework I've been building since the very first episode of this show is still the framework.

[02:01] It's still what I use with my clients six years into building out my health and wellness practice. So if you've been binging the old episodes and I see you, I see those download numbers, thank you for that.

[02:11] I appreciate you. You can keep doing that. It all still applies. And you know, I may add some nuance that I've learned over the years into some of those episodes as well and rerecord some, some different things through throughout our time together.

[02:23] So we'll see, we'll see what happens.

[02:25] Come along for the ride.

[02:26] What's different is that gotten really clear about who I'm talking to through the years of working with women and knowing that in the online space right now there is so much more misinformation than when I started this business in 2020 and.

[02:43] And so much around women's hormones. I really want you to know if this is going to be the place for you straight out the gate. And I think you deserve to hear me say it out loud.

[02:51] Because if it is you,

[02:53] I want you to know you're in the right place. And if it's not, no harm done here, no offense taken, you can move on with your life. Else were.

[03:01] So let me just say it. This show is for the woman who is, by every external measure, honestly killing it. You run something, a department, a business, a household, a team.

[03:12] People depend on you. You're the ones your friends call when things fall apart. You're probably the one creating the plans and organizing the things to begin with because you're the one who handles things.

[03:24] And lately, quietly, maybe not so quietly, you've been wondering if you can keep handling things because something is. Is off. Your sleep is wrecked. Your brain feels like it's running on dial up.

[03:35] Your cycle is doing things it didn't used to do, or it's not doing anything at all. And you don't know what that means either. Your mood is unrecognizable. Some weeks you've gained weight in places you didn't used to carry it and you haven't changed a damn thing.

[03:50] You wake up at 2am with your heart pounding for no reason and then you can't get back to sleep.

[03:54] And then you get up at 6 and you do the whole mess all over again on fumes. And the worst part isn't even the symptoms. The worst part is that you've gone to your doctor, maybe more than one.

[04:03] Many of you have. And they've told you your labs are normal. Does the fuck that? What does that even mean? They've told you it's stress, or they've told you it's your age.

[04:12] They've offered you an antidepressant or an ssri.

[04:16] And you left those appointments feeling crazy because you know your own body and you know something is wrong. And being told otherwise has made you question your own judgment in a way you don't question it because about literally anything else in your life.

[04:28] If that's you, this show is for you. So welcome. Pull up a seat. Have some coffee. Now here's what this show is not. This is not a show where I'm going to tell you to cut out gluten, dairy, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, joy and your entire personality.

[04:42] That's not what we do here. I'm not going to take your coffee away. I'm not going to moralize at you about your glass of wine on a Friday night. I'm not going to sell you a 14 bottle supplement protocol that costs more than your car payment.

[04:55] Holy bejesus. How did we get here?

[04:57] I'm also not going to tell you that it all starts with mindset. I'm not going to tell you your body is wise. I love your body, but right now your body is being kind of a jerk to you and telling you it's wise when it's waking you up at 2am for the fourth month in a row is frankly gaslighting.

[05:14] What I am going to do is teach you what's actually happening. Why your thyroid panel looks normal but you still feel like you got hit by a truck,

[05:21] why perimenopause is showing up at 38 for a lot of women, why insulin and cortisol are pulling on the same rope, and why that matters for your weight and your metabolic well being, why eating before coffee is one of the most underrated upgrades you can make,

[05:36] why your period got weird after you came off the pill, and what to actually do about it.

[05:41] I'm going to give you better information because I know you have a shit ton of information already. There is no shortage of information in this digital age.

[05:50] So yes, some of it might be more information, but I'm not here to add to the pile of shit you already have. I want to help you sort through that and only hold on to the pieces of information that are actually going to serve you well.

[06:02] Your notes app is full of more shit. Your saved Instagram posts are full of more. Your supplement cabinet is a literal monument to more. What you're missing isn't another podcast telling you to eat more protein because lord knows we are eating as much protein as we can.

[06:20] What you're missing is the kind of information that actually fits the specific stack of stuff going on in your body mechanism context. The why behind the what and then and this is the part that's non negotiable for me.

[06:34] I'm going to trust you to decide what to do with it because you're a grown ass adult. You don't need a permission slip for me to drink your coffee or skip your coffee or eat the thing or not eat the thing, right?

[06:46] Can can we stop with the rules already on the Internet.

[06:50] So that's what we're going to do here. My philosophy, and this hasn't changed since day one of this show. Day one of my business,

[06:57] is addition,

[06:58] not subtraction. I'm going to hand you things to think about, things to try.

[07:03] Frameworks for understanding what your body is doing.

[07:06] Protein at breakfast, food before coffee.

[07:09] A different way to think about your cycle, A different way to think about stress.

[07:12] Over time,

[07:14] things do subtract themselves out of your life because you don't want them as much once you're sleeping like a human being again. Once you're better regulated again. Right?

[07:23] But that's your decision on your timeline. I want to say one more thing before I wrap this quick first episode.

[07:30] If you've been listening to other women in this space and feeling like everyone else has it figured out,

[07:35] or maybe nobody else has it figured out and this is just the way that it has to be, you're the only one who can't crack this. You're not.

[07:42] The women in your life who seem fine are mostly just better at hiding it. The ones who genuinely are fine often have access to information you haven't been given yet.

[07:51] And the ones who keep telling you it's just your age and are settling for this new normal, they're wrong.

[07:58] You are not broken. You are not the common denominator. You have not failed every plan or program you've tried, and you every plan or program you've tried has failed you because none of them were actually built for the specific stack of things going on in your body.

[08:13] This podcast is the place for you to come to feel less crazy, to get better information than you've been getting.

[08:19] To hear someone actually explain what's happening in your body in a way that makes sense,

[08:24] the way you're smart, like you can figure these things out. And at the same time,

[08:30] the amount of information out there is so confusing because there is so many people thinking that they are experts when they are not. And I'm here to help you stop feeling like the only woman in your friend group who can't figure this out, or the only one who wants to figure it out.

[08:44] Because I know sometimes you're in a friend group with a lot of women who have just given up, not for lack of trying, but because it is so confusing, complicated, and you're exhausted.

[08:55] What this podcast isn't is a replacement for someone looking at your specific data and building something specific to you. I'm not going to pretend I can do that through a microphone.

[09:05] And I'm not going to insult you by pretending otherwise. What I can do every week is make you a little smarter, a little less alone, and a little more equipped to ask better questions about your own body.

[09:16] And that matters. That's actually the first piece. Many of my clients found me through this show back in the day because they needed to feel safe and seen before they were ready to do the deeper work.

[09:27] And I get that.

[09:28] Wherever you are in that journey, just listening, considering, or maybe ready to move on and do something, you're in the right place.

[09:37] So that's the show. That's who it's for. That's how I work.

[09:40] The next two episodes are going to start to get in more detail, go in more depth. They're going to fill in some gaps.

[09:45] In the next episode, I'm going to tell you my own story. How I got from a psychology degree to running functional labs for women over 35, and why every single step of that path turned out to matter on a deeper level than I would have ever expected.

[09:59] And in the third episode, I'm going to share one of my most controversial takes on the wellness and hormone industry,

[10:06] the one that's going to make some people unfollow. And that's fine and is going to make the right people send the episode to their three best friends. I'm looking forward to both.

[10:13] If this episode resonated, do me a favor, hit follow so you don't miss the next two. And if you know a woman in your life, a friend, a sister, a colleague who's been quietly losing her shit because her labs are fine,

[10:24] quote fine, please send her this episode. She needs to know she's not crazy.

[10:31] Thanks so much for hanging out with me today. If this episode did something for you, because let's be honest, it definitely did. The best thing you can do is follow the show so you never miss one and send it to a woman in your life who needs to hear this information.

[10:44] If you've got a minute, a review helps more women find this in a sea of wellness noise and come find me on Instagram. That's where I hang out between episodes and where you can tell me what you want me to nerd out about next.

[10:55] Until then, eat first, drink your coffee, and take care of yourself. I'll see you next time.
