SKILLS PAY BILLS: A Sew Loka Podcast
Chicana fashion designer, Claudia Rodríguez-Biezunski, was introduced to sewing at a very young age by her immigrant parents. In 2013, she opened a sewing studio named Sew Loka. As a Mexican-American female business owner, Claudia is breaking down barriers, blurring societal norms and proudly welcoming BIPOC and underserved communities through affordable, edgy, and upcycled handmade goods. This SKILLS PAY BILLS podcast will focus on the local makers and creators that excite and inspire Claudia. The podcast is filmed inside of the "Sew Loka" sewing studio located in historic Barrio Logan, San Diego. Thank you for listening!!!

Skills Pay Bills #92 featuring Positive Phee @positive_phee (10/26/23)
Claudia @sewloka sits down with Sophie from @positive_phee to discuss secondhand fashion, thrifting, sustainability and the Sip & Style events she hosts all throughout San Diego.
With a degree in fashion retail Sophie, "Phee" spent a decade immersed in the London luxury fashion & lingerie industries before moving to San Diego where she founded her sustainable fashion services brand Positive Phee. After researching the current fashion cycle and the damage that fast fashion has done to our society & environment, Sophie was motivated to explore a niche for circular fashion events, sustainable styling and upcycling.
When you support Positive Phee you can enjoy a personalised fashion experience while "shopping" guilt free.
