Thirty-three year old Sean McKinnon was enjoying a surfing holiday with his Canadian fiancee Bianca Buckley, on the north island of New Zealand. They had pulled into a free camping area in their Apollo campervan, planning to surf the waves after a night spent together looking out over the panoramic view of the Tasman Sea.

At 2am in the morning, they heard tapping on the window of their van, followed by thumping on the panels and an erratic man calling out "I know you're in there..."

This couple's love story would be tragically cut short in an unprovoked attack.
