Episode 22 - Exploring the Tech Landscape of Africa with Dr. Mulang’ Onando
In this episode, Luchele and Dr. Mulang' Orando discuss the rise of the tech landscape in Africa, and the opportunities this can provide for data and AI specialists.
Dr. Mulang’ is also passionate about Artificial Intelligence and its application as a solution to human challenges such as Health, Natural language Understanding, and accelerating development goals; mentorship of future leaders and tech professionals; and reducing the inequality divide. He currently works as a research scientist and challenge lead at IBM-Research Africa where he is involved in creating innovative AI methods for accelerated discovery in science, specifically in health care, and applying his experience on Foundation Models to build models of biomedical and clinical health solutions.
