In 2015, I took my kids to see Aladdin on Broadway. Between the sword fights, the spooky voice, and 8 minute “Friend Like Me” dance extravaganza which included tap dancing and fireworks, I was particularly captivated by Courtney Reed’s Jasmine performance when she says “Why can’t a woman lead the kingdom?” Courtney originated Jasmine for Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway, leading in that role for 5 years in NY, on the West End in London and on tour in Los Angeles. She started her Broadway career in Mama Mia, then Lin Manuel-Miranda’s In the Heights on Broadway. Next up, Courtney’s headlining Disney Princess the Concert’s US Tour, and will also take the lead role as Satine in the US Tour of multiple Tony-winner Moulin Rouge.

As an entrepreneur and lead actor across multiple Broadway companies, Courtney shares some really fun and insightful stories about what it takes to be successful on and off stage. Thanks for listening to MENTOR dna.
