The world feels loud right now, and sometimes it’s hard to remember there’s still good happening every day. We start where a lot of us are living: irritated by endless spam calls and texts, side-eyeing how our data gets used, and asking why peace is always behind a paywall. From there, we get real about politics and the specific way Black women get treated when they’re the most qualified person in the room, including a viral clip that puts the country’s sexism and racism on full display.

Then we shift the energy on purpose. We check in about life, travel chaos, and the behind-the-scenes reality of trying to stay consistent as creators while life keeps happening. And we bring back a grounding prompt: tell us one feel-good moment you’ve seen lately. That opens the door to stories that actually restore you, from innovative “smart city” solutions like Sweden training crows to clean up trash, to the joy of watching Black kids create art, perform, and speak truth about their own communities.

Finally, we turn the studio into a full-on trivia arena with Highly Melanated Jeopardy: Black music lyrics, meme knowledge, Black household rules, Black TV and movies, and acronyms that will either humble you or make you feel seen. The rules are chaotic, the laughter is constant, and the takeaway is simple: fun is not frivolous, it’s survival.

If you laughed, learned, or felt a little lighter, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave us a review. What question would you have gotten right, and which one would’ve taken you out?

SPEAKER_04

Hey guys, hey guys, hey guys. Welcome back to another episode. Let me let me stop. I'm waiting for. Oh, should I have kept going?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

I was just saying what Connor wanted. That's all. Oh I thought you. I thought okay. I know. He was looking up at me like, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_05

Minding my black business. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Hey guys, hey guys, hey guys. Welcome back to another episode of Highly Melanated Podcast. The same. See, and this is why I really expect you not to do these things before we start, because now I'm gonna be like okay, I got it. I got it. I got it. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Third time's a charm.

SPEAKER_04

Hey guys, hey guys, hey guys. Welcome back to another episode of Highly Melanated Podcast. The safe space where it is okay.

SPEAKER_05

The picture not even looking at us is crazy. It takes concentration. It does, it do. I'm finding I'm finding it.

SPEAKER_04

Finding it. I'm finding it. The safe space to where it is okay to let folks know that it's even though Black History Month is over, it's Black History Year.

SPEAKER_05

I thought you were gonna go a totally different direction.

SPEAKER_04

I I was about to. That's why I that's why I couldn't look at you guys. Because then I would have been in this is the safe space to not have a gag reflex.

SPEAKER_03

Wait a minute. What the hell? Well, I mean, it could be true. Two things could be true at once.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. PJ is about sick and tired of these damn spam calls and texts. I'm over it. I'm tired. I can't.

SPEAKER_03

Oh man. Oh, uh I second that. Here, here. Motion pass. Motion passed.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't even know what we were gonna take this, uh, but I get like this five spam calls a day, and it's it's it's too much.

SPEAKER_03

Well, you what well, from my understanding, there was a major breach that recently that recently happened, and that had pretty much everybody's everything in it. Yeah, right. And so that's why they're all reaching out. I'm all like, why are you reaching out to me about whatever?

SPEAKER_04

I am on the do not call list. It's it's not even that. So I've been getting these things for a long time. Like, hey, Phil, are you ready to take some money for your business? Like, and then it says, okay, when are you ready to open up Lorenzo's pizza? Like, not Lorenzo. I keep getting texts of the business.

SPEAKER_05

I keep getting texts, um, a political text talking about, hey Marjorie, who the fuck is Marjorie?

SPEAKER_04

Marjorie. Well, let me start calling you Marjorie now.

SPEAKER_03

Don't you dare. Oh my god. I can't even find it now. Maybe I did maybe I deleted it because I out of frustration. So mine was mine was something like regarding like finances. Wanna take out a loan?

SPEAKER_04

No. Yeah, they're they're they're loan-based. And it so like at first I when they first started happening, I was like, oh, so Firefly is, I mean, yeah, Firefly is actually like there, so it's like, okay, I'm getting funding all of a sudden. People are asking if I want to take out a loan. And they're like, we can set up about a two million dollar loan for your business. And I, you know, after a while, I was like, wait a minute.

SPEAKER_05

First of all, two million dollars.

SPEAKER_04

Like, you know, it was it was but it it you know, it comes from the different text numbers and this and that, whatever. And so, like, what I've been doing as of recent is I'll respond now. But I'm like, they said, Can you provide me your email? And I said, Your mama coochie stink at gmail.com.

SPEAKER_03

Could you imagine? Yo, mama coach.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, you know, and hearing could you spell that?

SPEAKER_03

Could you spell coochie?

SPEAKER_05

Is that with an S or a Z? Right. Is that is that the traditional spelling?

SPEAKER_04

Or also I do want to also add Happy Women's History Month.

SPEAKER_05

So no, you got to separate them two things. PJ is the coochie. You are going to have to provide some separation of those.

SPEAKER_04

I heard it as it was happening. I heard it as it was happening.

SPEAKER_03

I'm really excited. I was like, yeah. I was like, oh no, that's that's that's after the coochie steak.

SPEAKER_05

Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_04

So PJ, PJ is taking his foot out of his mouth in this moment.

SPEAKER_05

That's lovely.

SPEAKER_03

Well, Red, we'll start this off right and say, Happy Women's History Month.

Women’s History And Political Reality

SPEAKER_05

And Blair is thank God I'm a woman, you know. Thank God I'm a black woman because I wouldn't want to be anything else. I tell you what. Oh, that's right.

SPEAKER_04

So I'm gonna put this little clip in here. And this was this man was, I saw this reel that said um that clipped what Michelle Obama said about how like America's not ready for a woman president. And he's like, let me take a step further. America's not ready for a black woman president.

SPEAKER_02

Michelle Obama said That's why I'm like, don't even look at me about running, because you all are lying. You're not ready for a woman. You are not. So don't waste my time. You know, we got a lot of growing up to do.

SPEAKER_00

I take it a step further and say, black women. Every time the more educated, more qualified black woman is on the ballot, this country displays its bigotry and sexism. Let's start with Stacey Abrams. She ran for Georgia governor twice in 2018 and 2022 against this guy, Brian Kemp. She was clearly the better candidate, but the state said, nah. Let's do the white guy. In 2024, Kamala Harris ran for the presidency against a whole convicted felon. And the country, despite Kamala, if nothing else, not being a felon, they said, nah. Give us the felon white guy. Jasmine Crockett ran into primary for a U.S. sentency and lost to this guy, James Tellerico. The crazy part is the majority of the people didn't even know who the fuck he was until she entered the race. But nevertheless, they said it doesn't matter, give us the unknown white guy. And in all three cases, this coalition y'all so desperately want with people of color, they all heavily voted for the white guy. Honestly, in my opinion, this country doesn't deserve black women's guidance. They don't deserve your wisdom and your foresight to see the things we are experiencing today. To my black brothers and sisters, stop believing we have allies. We don't. And Michelle Obama, you were right. This country isn't ready.

SPEAKER_02

And they all have a lot of growing up to do.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. I'm just I'm I just this country is a piece of shit. That's all I got to say.

SPEAKER_05

I was sitting on the train on my way to work today, and there was a he was probably a college age student, um, sitting next to me, and he was reading a book. I couldn't see the name of the book, but the chapter, the chapter he was on was titled Suck My Dick America. Oh right. I said, Well, I wonder what this book is about.

SPEAKER_04

Well, as we're moving right along, how was everybody's week?

SPEAKER_05

Um My week has been full of push and pull. So it's it's it's been a it's only and it's only Tuesday. I know this comes out on Thursday, but we record on Tuesday, so the week is still quite young and fresh in this moment, and it's it's been a week, but hopefully, um, you know, the second half of the week is a little more relaxed than this first half has been.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Um my week has been alright. Um last the Saturday that just passed was my mother's birthday. Happy 65th.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, yes, I saw those pictures. Y'all is young?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. She uh it's so funny because we were having this whole conversation about what do we get everybody? Because next is my father's, and then it's gonna be Egypt's birthday. And so I was like, what are we what are we getting him? And like they're at the point where they're just all like, well, what do we what do you get from? So we're just probably gonna take them out to eat or something like that. So but it was a good time. We went to um, you ever heard of uh restoration hardware?

SPEAKER_05

Mm-hmm. You went to the rooftop there?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I went to the rooftop.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's nice, isn't it?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's good. We had a really good time. So happy birthday, mom.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, happy birthday, mommy.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, yes. Um, my week has been great, but I will let me take a step back. Um, because y'all know I like to acknowledge it, right? So we were supposed to record for the past couple of weeks. And number one, I just want to say that these two here have had the they were blessed in the sense that they did not have to experience the snowstorm that we had here in New York during this during that time. However, it was it was fun for you guys to get back. I I I I remember y'all saying.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it was it was a journey around the world to get back. Um yeah, I was I was stuck in Florida because they canceled my flight, my returning flight because of the snowstorm. Um, I was supposed to get back on a Monday. I actually didn't get back until I think that Thursday, something like that. And then even coming back was, you know, still delays and cancellations and rebookings and all kinds of brigamor. So that was a lot. So much so to the point where I have um I opened a new credit card because I don't want to be um beholden to American Airlines anymore. So not because we I did because it was just it was ridiculous. I was like, and then y'all ain't nobody helping me, nobody wanna help me. Like, I was scared. What am I paying for? So it just it literally just got to the point where I was just so frustrated. I was like, I've literally been a loyal customer for over 20 years. Like back when like American Airlines was US Airways.

SPEAKER_04

So like but you but you but but didn't American and US split because it's still you there still is a US Air Air.

SPEAKER_05

They merged.

SPEAKER_04

They merged, they merged. That's clear. And everything became American Airlines because I liked U.S. Airways.

SPEAKER_05

I did too.

SPEAKER_04

That's who I was. Am not a fan of American Airlines.

SPEAKER_03

Listen, they're doing a lot of weird stuff lately. We've talked about this. Even Southwest changed recently a lot of the things that they're doing. They're the way that they do their um seating, whereas like first come first serve.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, they have a science piece now.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they get they got rid of that. And like, and I and I've never really used Southwest like that. I used it a couple of times when I was going down to Georgia, but like, you know, other than that, like I they just switched it over. And I was all like, well, that sucked. That was that was a short-lived, you know, thing that I like.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, that was part of the appeal because, like, you know, like, oh, like they got rid of all the the the frills. So but yeah, basically, I'm just like they think that they can, you know, pigeonhole me, but nah, I didn't open me up a new credit card, it gives me points for everything, and I can use those points for whatever airline I want.

SPEAKER_04

So but I did want to acknowledge this only because I know that we have made a promise, uh, or I can't say we. I mean, I'm trying my best to make this promise to our listeners. Shout out to y'all who've been rocking with us for the past going on now, eight years. Shout out to all of y'all. Um, Jesus Christ. It's been along Jesus. Um, that this year we plan on being just a little bit more consistent with our recordings and and trying our best. But as we always say, life happens, life be life ends.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so PJ says that, and PJ doesn't know yet that I'm basically gonna be like gone for the rest of March.

SPEAKER_04

So, yeah, so this also this was last week. So we we are back into like what what year was that? Was that like the fourth, the maybe like the fourth or the fifth year where it was just like Blair is out there doing it?

SPEAKER_05

I I was gonna talk to you guys. I was like, I might have to take a small hiatus. I feel like the show should go on way in below. People let us know. But um, we will we will discuss that all after these messages will be back.

Feel Good News And Gratitude Practice

SPEAKER_03

Uh yikes. Well, so here I am. You know, guys, these days I try to not keep a footprint on social media like that as much anymore, but I do use it to kind of like get some reprieve every once in a while. And you know what social media is just filled with. So, question of the week, question of the week, question of the week. Your questions as they pertain to you prospectively and introspectively. Um, I came across a really interesting article recently, and it was an article that was talking about Sweden making it a smart city using technology to basically clean up their trash by using uh crows, and the crows can deposit the trash into the machine, and the the machine will actually deposit uh you know things like snacks and cookies and things of that nature, crackers, things that the birds can eat. So crows are very smart. They'll actually just pick up the trash and it's been actually working. So, question of the week, because we know the state of the world and everything that's in, what is one feel-good moment or one thing that you saw that was good that you enjoyed, that you want to see, that you want to tell the world? Like that was my that was like my thing. Like, I wanna I I love hearing about oh, we're gonna clean up the the earth and we're not going to war. So what's one thing, once what's what's what's one good feel good moment that you might have or seen?

SPEAKER_04

Um, can I go? While while blowing you thinking about George? Um I'll say this. Now I make a lot of jokes about these little ninjas that I'm teaching and like how I just sometimes want to just throw them out the window and throw just throw them away because my god today. Um however, it was like two weeks ago, they did their performance and it was like their it was, yeah, it was their Black History Month performance. Um and these kids had, and this is middle school, and these kids have been so like they've been practicing, they've been learning their poems, they've been doing their dances, they've been they've really been focused on it. And even though what I come to the school for, which is podcasting, um they were not able to pull down the screen and play what they recorded, um, nor did they have time because the sound system wasn't really working, um, to do a whole setup and do a live recording because that's what the thing that they were supposed to do. Um, I actually ended up staying. I I went there just to watch them to support them, even though you know what we did is not gonna be in the show. And it there are moments where I love watching um these kids show who they are with their talent um and be passionate about something, especially something artistic, especially something that's black as fuck. So, like it was a beautiful moment. I'll say that. I really thoroughly enjoyed um them, and then immediately the next day I saw them, I was good. But in that moment, I I that's why I I don't want to give up on them, and I try my best not to, because there are not a lot of black male teachers, especially in in certain certain you know spaces. Um, so I try to still be there for them in that way. Um and it's just beautiful when they actually are focused on something. So like that was a joy that I got to see. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

That's nice one that that's a beautiful feel-good moment that makes you feel like the world is not ending. I love that.

SPEAKER_04

And that's the part about it. So like these kids are the next generation. So like they were speaking, and there's this one kid who wrote a poem about Brooklyn. And uh, I wish I could remember it, and I wish I would have got it on recording, and I didn't. I I videotaped a bunch of this stuff, but I did it with somebody else's phone. Um, because I was just be there as a bystander, uh, just as a you know, a watcher. Um, and they were talking about how the gentrification it and it was a poem that he wrote, and he's in he's a seventh grader, and it was how you may you love Brooklyn, you love to stay out your you live in Brooklyn, but you also love to push our people out. And it was just it was the way that he worded it that was just like maybe you should go into politics. Who knows? And he did write it, so it wasn't like his parents helped him or anything like that. Like he actually asked for my opinion. You know, it was those are the things that matter to me.

SPEAKER_03

I love that. Okay, so we got technology and we got what what category will we put that in? I believe that. The children are our future.

SPEAKER_05

Come on, come on our future. Treat them well and let them lead the way.

SPEAKER_04

Up until. Oh god.

SPEAKER_05

Um, oh god. It's kind of depressing that it nothing is coming to mind.

SPEAKER_03

Um, I'm sure there's lots of stuff to say. You know what I'll say?

SPEAKER_05

You know what I'll say? It was actually last night. I was on video chat with um Nareen, the baddest beach, and our friend uh Madaron, who actually moved in right next door to me. Um so the three of us were on video chat last night for like three hours, like so random, but we were just talking about a whole bunch of stuff, and then for whatever reason, at some point, um oh, because so she was having Metaron was kind of having like a down moment. And she was just like she was saying things, and I was like, we don't do self-deprecation around here, like we don't, we don't do that, we don't do that. She's like, You're right, thank you for loving me. I was like, I do love you. You know who else loves you? Jesus. And so then we started, we started, I started singing. I was like, I said, um, I started singing, uh, Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. So then she started singing a very similar song and like verse, and I was like, oh, I don't know that version, I don't know that version. And then Noreen started singing a similar song, but I was like, I don't know that version either. I was like, is it possible that there are three different songs out here with like the same like sentiment? Because it was the same idea, it was just like we were all singing it in different like cadences. So then eventually we ended up just like putting it on, like we searched the song and listened to it and literally listened to the fact that all three cadences are in the same song. It's just that each of us knew a different part of the song and had no idea about the other parts of the song. So full circle now. It's just you know, you can see things from a different perspective, but at the end of the day, you're all saying the same thing.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, I love that. I I really like that a lot. Oh, see, look at that.

SPEAKER_04

I think Comet likes it too. Look, Comet just popped in.

SPEAKER_03

No, he's like looking like what y'all talking about.

SPEAKER_04

Our our residential black ass cat. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no. I mean, that's a beautiful thing, and I think um something that you said, which is why I brought it up, you know, you said it's kind of depressing because you don't have anything that that's good that's coming to mind. And I don't think that's true for the for the most part. I think there are a lot, a lot of people they're going through things, but there's a lot of good that happens daily. It's just that it it can be overwhelming, and that's why there's that moment where I definitely just want everybody to just take so that they can think about it and think about some of the good things that are happening.

SPEAKER_04

So and so like this this is why we did it. We we I forgot what episode it was, but I talk about a lot about this, and you y'all know, and it's not inherent to my bedroom, but like I really think that we all should, at some point, you got gratitude journals you can purchase and or you can make, but like a gratitude jar. Like I do a gratitude jar. I put stickies and little things in there of little little joys that I celebrate throughout the day or throughout the week or whatever, and later down the road I look back at them and I'm like, you know what, that did happen. There is more joy out there than sadness. You know? And so, like, even though like we're bombarded with what's going on in the news and we're, you know, which well, not the news, the news that we get to see. Let me just say that.

SPEAKER_05

Right, because there's a whole lot that they ain't telling us.

SPEAKER_04

There's a lot. And what what I would suggest everybody do, instead of just watching CNN and MSNBC and all the other uh if y'all watching Fox News, y'all don't belong here. But if um whatever news station you're watching, I would I would suggest that everybody watches international news. Because maybe those are the ones who are really telling it, especially from the viewpoint of someone who's not what America is like in other countries or reviews from other countries. I'd recommend that. So did you answer this? Did you answer this question? The crows. Because I was like, wait, crows? You did say birds, right? Like, yeah, no, I said cro said I said birds, but then I said crows. No, no, I was like, because I still didn't follow.

SPEAKER_05

I was like, why are there the birds are gonna clean up the streets?

SPEAKER_03

Listen, I thought that was really dope. I I I wish they did when they would implement it here. They'd probably be bringing whole tires and everything.

Highly Melanated Jeopardy Setup

SPEAKER_04

So Lord have mercy. Because we did not have our last Black History uh episode of the uh month. Um I have been so happy about this. Um, neither one of these two know anything about this. Not a clue. Not a clue.

SPEAKER_05

All we know is that he's been holding on to this for a couple weeks.

SPEAKER_04

I have it on three devices. So there are so many things. So, welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Highly Melanated Jeopardy.

SPEAKER_06

Good.

SPEAKER_04

Oh Lord. Oh, all right, and the contestants are let's go ahead and introduce our first contestant. Our first contestant is a beautiful, elegant, talented, producer, model, actor, SAG Aftra. Um member, member, vote and and she votes. I do vote. Not just in Sag Aftra, but she's a voter. She believes in voter registration.

SPEAKER_05

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Well let's introduce let's introduce our cloud our crowd to our new first guest. Uh shout out to uh the black ass Blair Tate. Blair Blair tape, bring your black ass up here. Bring your black ass up here.

SPEAKER_03

You gotta make your way down, like figure out what was it?

SPEAKER_05

Alright. All right, the way he sprinted to that stage. My god.

SPEAKER_03

That was hilarious.

SPEAKER_05

I have never seen somebody become a meme so quick.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, Duran Bernard. You are so funny.

SPEAKER_05

You are a gem and you must be protected at all costs.

SPEAKER_03

You are dope.

SPEAKER_04

And secondly, our next contestant. And well, previous games that we have had. The previous games that we have had with these two contestants, as we look back in the books, they have actually competed against each other quite a bit. He is often the loser. Um, he has yet to win a game, and we're hoping that today, today, uh, will be his crowning glory, where he will be able to redeem himself to get this prize that he's been wanting for so long. Okay, neither one of them know what this prize is, but they are going to be extremely excited about this because it's a staple. Welcome to the the highly melanated Jeopardy game. That nigga red. What up, what up, what up, what up, what up, what up, what up? Alright, and he has brought his emotional support animal comet, that black ass cat.

SPEAKER_03

Comment is it's gonna uh I'm gonna need to need to help later, Comment.

SPEAKER_05

You can't let him cheat and give you answers. Because it seems like comment is whispered.

SPEAKER_04

It looks like he has already begun whispering in his ear.

SPEAKER_03

He is he is he is here to help me out to the best of his ability.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, so the way the game goes, there are five categories. Okay. Lord mercy. Oh, yes. And you guys, let me go ahead and start because I will be keeping score. Oh Lord, I'm so concerned.

SPEAKER_06

What do you mean? I can't count.

SPEAKER_05

I'm just concerned in general. What have you cooked on?

SPEAKER_04

Okay. So there will be five categories. All right. And first category is answer this. Second category is meme knowledge. Third category is black families. Fourth category is you better write it in.

SPEAKER_05

You said black families?

SPEAKER_04

Black black okay, the black household. Let's change that to black. Oh, wait, wait. Yes, yes, I I get that. Yes, yes, yes. The black ass household.

SPEAKER_06

Screaming. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Alright. The next category is uh black ass TV and movies. And of course, there is a bonus round. Once we get there, you will find that out.

SPEAKER_05

Is the fifth category the bonus?

SPEAKER_04

No, it is not. Acronyms black folks should oh no. Acronym, oh gosh. Alright, so each category has uh three parts. 100, 250, 500.

SPEAKER_03

That's a lot of math for you. You got it?

SPEAKER_04

I am perfectly okay. Thank you so much. How about you worry about what you tally up? Okay, thank you. Okay, so much. Let me hit my point. So all right, so we're going to let's see.

SPEAKER_05

Screaming. Okay, you said, I'm sorry, I missed that. You said there's three answers per category.

SPEAKER_04

100.

SPEAKER_05

100, 250, and 500?

SPEAKER_04

And 500.

SPEAKER_05

100, 250, 500.

SPEAKER_04

And one of those is the melanated double double. Melanated double double. This is the melanated double double. We'll find out when we get there. Okay. Okay. It's the fact that, ladies and gentlemen, I need y'all to know that even though like the scorekeeper that I have over here in the back, which is me, is keeping score, um, they have both decided to uh write this shit down so they can keep score um on their own, because they do not trust my counting. But it's okay because I am the host of this first game. I've been ready, I've been wanting to do this all for so long. All right. Hopefully this will come out how it came out in my head. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

This is intense.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so I'm writing.

SPEAKER_04

I'm writing a number down.

SPEAKER_05

Chris can go first. That's fine.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_05

Mine was 16.

SPEAKER_05

You're not going slow. G I G I G A T and A T T G I G.

SPEAKER_04

SPEAKER_05

You gon' get it. Wait. You gon' get it. Wait.

SPEAKER_04

Ladies and gentlemen, literally write it. You know when you're in school and they have to ask you to show your work?

SPEAKER_02

It's literally. I'm just trying to think. G I G.

SPEAKER_04

Do you would you did I did I would you like a hint? Yeah. If you're lucky this game show gives hints because normally we would deduct points.

SPEAKER_02

You don't want to put the hints in there.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. The hint is this is a call and response. It's the fact that Blair is just waiting.

SPEAKER_05

I'm trying to think. What? You gonna get it. I believe in you. No, I don't I don't know. I'm I'm like You gotta have faith. That's too good. I get another hit later. No, gave him two hits.

SPEAKER_04

This is true, ladies and gentlemen. This is true. We're trying to help our brothers out, even though this is women's. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh, damn. Go to commercial break. We ain't got no commercials. We ain't got no sponsors. We ain't got no sponsors. Okay, no, there's no commercials. This is public access television. That is already on suspension.

SPEAKER_03

Damn, damn, damn, damn. I know I'm gonna kick myself when I don't realize it is.

SPEAKER_05

Take a guess.

SPEAKER_03

Ladies and gentlemen, as you can tell. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

Take a guess. That way you can at least feel like you tried. Don't just lose the 500 off a no answer.

SPEAKER_04

Take a guess for 500 negative.

SPEAKER_05

Right. Just take don't don't lose the 500 off a no answer.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. Okay, yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

I'd like to solve the puzzle, Alex.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, are we mixing shows?

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, because the way this scores, I don't have a buzzer. So, yes.

SPEAKER_05

God is good all the time and all the time. God is good. Amen, amen, hallelujah! Okay, you did that.

SPEAKER_02

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_05

Amen. Amen. Now I see why he was giving it to us all fast. He didn't want to like give it. He said.

SPEAKER_04

Ladies and gentlemen, throughout everything that we've been going on, it's okay. Right now, we just need a little laugh. So this is our laugh.

SPEAKER_05

I said, say what?

SPEAKER_04

That was terrible. But it's terrible since she stole that. She gets double the point.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wow. But you didn't want to tell us that in the beginning. Okay. I did not get this.

Meme Questions And Rule Arguments

SPEAKER_04

I was hoping. I was hoping.

SPEAKER_05

Well, that's five. That's a thousand. That's a thousand. That's a thousand.

SPEAKER_04

To his need.

SPEAKER_05

Well, in that case, let's move on to meme knowledge for a hundred, PJ.

SPEAKER_04

The answer to this question is in the form of a question.

SPEAKER_05

Huh?

SPEAKER_04

The answer to this question is a form of a question. The answer to this question is in the form of a question. It became a meme everywhere. I just want to know, are you a lesbian? Okay.

SPEAKER_05

What happened? I thought you were gonna show us the meme. I don't understand what's happening here.

SPEAKER_04

No, it can't show you the meme. No, this is not how this game works. I'm so sorry. We don't have sponsors. We don't have graphics either. Oh, please. Hold on. They're they're they're talking me. They're they're okay. Sure. Okay, we can say this. Alright. Let me reiterate the question with the word that they said we should put in there to help.

SPEAKER_05

Because I think I know what it is, but I feel like you put the wrong word in there.

SPEAKER_04

I know I left out a word. I moved. Oh no, this is all right. The answer is in the form of a question. Because because Rob from the Side said This reality star became a meme everywhere. I just want to know. Are you a lesbian? Alright, fine. We'll put the word in. Candy. I just want to know. Are you a lesbian? Who said that? Jesus. See, that's the reason why we took out, we chose to take out candy because that would be the answer.

SPEAKER_06

Who said that?

SPEAKER_04

Alright, that was 100 feet. You know what I thought it was?

SPEAKER_03

Definitely not candy.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, it was candy.

SPEAKER_03

Candy said that? No.

SPEAKER_04

No, V.

SPEAKER_05

No, somebody was asking that to Candy, and then everybody started responding. Who said that? Who said that?

SPEAKER_04

Correct.

unknown

Correct.

SPEAKER_05

You know what I thought it was at first? I thought it was um, I thought you were trying not to give it away, and so you said lesbian instead of gay. So I thought it was the, are you gay? Who said I'm gay?

SPEAKER_04

Alright, let me not use that one.

SPEAKER_05

Is that what was that in there?

SPEAKER_04

No, that's it won't be now.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, um, let's let's do meme knowledge for 250.

SPEAKER_04

Meme knowledge for 250. Ladies and gentlemen, I am so sorry to tell you this, but that category is closed. Alright, so we're gonna replace that one um with a highly melanated double. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Alright.

SPEAKER_04

Are you ready? There's this this there is a method to this madness. I need you to follow up. All right. If you are every woman, what thoughts can you read? Your own thoughts. Okay, so that's minus 50 for going out of turn. Wasn't your question. No fifties is in here. Now you're making me really count.

SPEAKER_05

Blair? If you're every woman, what thoughts can you read?

SPEAKER_04

Correct.

SPEAKER_05

What like what category is this? Is this just like, is this a saying? Is this a song? Is this a meme? Is this a a uh a a black household uh I'm confused.

SPEAKER_04

What this is is if you are every woman.

SPEAKER_05

It's all in me. Like I don't I don't know what else to do. Incorrect!

SPEAKER_04

What was that in it? That was that was for 250 minus 250. Alright. Would you like the opportunity to steal? Five. Four.

SPEAKER_05

We still haven't gotten any clarity on what this is.

SPEAKER_04

It is the replacement question.

SPEAKER_03

Sure, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Um which became the daily double. The highly melaninated double. Um there's another one in there, by the way. There's another, there's a there's a highly melanated triple that is just a completely different. So you never know what it's gonna be. No, this was planned. Okay, this is how we do these on the show, okay. You're supposed to think it's one thing and it's gonna be something else. But this could have got you triple the points. I mean double the points for you. So that's negative 500.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay. I think I got it. I had to like run through the lyrics in my head. Everyone from A to Z. Every what? Everyone from A to Z.

SPEAKER_04

Is that your final answer? Yes. Incorrect! It is every it is every word from A to Z. Wait, what happened? I guess we can give it to him. He's he's so far behind that, right? Yeah, we can give it to you. You're so far behind. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. I want to look at the words now because you said This is a replacement because it is a daily, so it can be any category.

SPEAKER_05

No, I get that. But you said if you're every woman, what thoughts can you hear?

SPEAKER_04

No, what thoughts can you read? Everywhere from A to Z is the actual not every one, every word. As he looks it up. But you said thoughts. Correct. Because this the lyric the lyric is Is it?

SPEAKER_03

What is the lyric? What is the lyric? I see here it says everyone from A to Z. What's the what's the whole lyric? Um, I'm every woman, it's all in me. Anything you want done, baby, I'll do it naturally. Every woman, it's all in me. I can read your thoughts right now. Everyone from A to Z. Whoa, whoa, whoa.

SPEAKER_04

Ladies and gentlemen, please hold.

SPEAKER_05

Oh Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_03

Unless this is wrong, it's possible that this is wrong.

SPEAKER_05

The urban dictionary.

SPEAKER_03

No, this is uh this is uh what is this? This is lyric lyric lyricy, lyrically genius.

SPEAKER_01

Genius.

SPEAKER_02

It's everyone.

SPEAKER_04

It is not genius got it wrong. I looked on an A to Z lyrics. Everyone.

SPEAKER_05

This is the commercial. I finally got it. Did you back it up?

SPEAKER_04

I have to go to the actual song, hopefully.

SPEAKER_05

I was gonna say that didn't sound like the actual song.

SPEAKER_04

This is the commercial that you've been looking for, that you've been dying for?

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Uh, because when I first did this and I wrote it down, the shit said word. Now all of a sudden it's one everywhere you look, this is wrong. But okay. All right, never mind now.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_04

All right, you gained 50 points uh just by correcting me. Um so that cancels out that negative 50 um before.

SPEAKER_01

And uh go on, go on.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, go ahead. And uh it's okay. Okay. And that is uh which was this? What number was this? 250.

SPEAKER_05

But it was double, so it's 500.

Black Household Lines And Aunt Viv Triple

SPEAKER_04

Uh-huh. Yeah, right. Uh-huh. Right, right, right. So it's listen, it is here. We are we are so you guys can see it. Okay. Alright. Alright, so you are correct. That was a lot. That was so much. And I'm so angry at this moment because it really is every word from A to Z. It really is. I that's the way. But anyway. The producers say we must move on, so let's move on.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Let us go to um uh the blackass household for a hundred.

SPEAKER_04

For a hundred we must go to the other notes, because they're all in several places.

SPEAKER_03

That's safe.

SPEAKER_04

In this black ass household, you need to close the door because of why.

SPEAKER_03

You're letting out all the good air. I mean, I would know that because I can I don't like being hot, so shit.

SPEAKER_04

We will allow that because you will letting out it's my right, okay. Okay, yes, we'll allow that one too. Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_03

Letting out my good air? Sorry. No, it's okay. That works. Well, that was implied, you in my house.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe are we ready?

SPEAKER_04

You got that one right. That's 100 for you. That is correct. Ding ding ding. Yay. This is gonna be fun to hell. I didn't think about this. Did this nigga say please hold? Does he not we don't have sponsors, but there's no commercial break.

SPEAKER_01

Here we go.

SPEAKER_03

There you go. All right, let's do the black ass household for two fifty.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. In your black ass household. Are you ready? What kind of money do you not have?

SPEAKER_02

We don't have no goddamn McDonald's money.

SPEAKER_03

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, everybody. I got flashbacks over that one.

SPEAKER_04

I felt it coming, I felt it coming. Okay, it's 250 for you, Blair. Blair, what's going on? We gotta stump him.

SPEAKER_05

I'm letting letting him rack it up. Rack it up, rack it up.

SPEAKER_04

Let me.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god, did y'all see that some crazy person was shooting up Rihanna's house? Oh yeah. What was that all about? She would, I guess she's not well in the mind, and for whatever reason, thought Rihanna was. I don't know. Anyway, topic for another day.

SPEAKER_03

Uh the black ass household for 500.

SPEAKER_04

You know, y'all are y'all are doing the damn thing. You have found, ladies and gentlemen, the highly melanated triple. Now, what makes this a triple is that it is not only just a completely different category and question, but there are two parts. You can get two points in this one, but you have to get both.

SPEAKER_05

How do you get two points if it's already tripled? I'm confused.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. You get the two questions. This this this is how this this this is how we answer this question. There are two questions.

SPEAKER_03

Let me tell you something. Blair is is is anybody's human resource nightmare. What do you mean you don't know what you're doing?

SPEAKER_04

Because there are there are there are two questions.

SPEAKER_05

Is it me? Did you understand what he meant, Chris?

SPEAKER_03

I had the same question, but I know you, I know people like you, Blair. Question. I just want to understand.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Yes. There are two parts to this. Each part has an answer. Once you answer each part, the answer is tri the cost is triple. So this can cost you up to 1500, but you have to get them both.

SPEAKER_05

There we go. Now that made sense.

SPEAKER_04

Because I was trying to explain it, but see, black people don't know how to wait for a second. My little bag.

SPEAKER_05

It's this.

SPEAKER_04

My little T-Box.

SPEAKER_05

A little handkerchief head hair.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, because I am ladies and gentlemen, it is so fucking hot in my apartment right now, and the fan is not blowing on me. So because I didn't want the sound in y'all ears this time around. So this is why.

SPEAKER_03

So we got this freaking napkin draped over it.

SPEAKER_04

Sidebar, not just a napkin. I got this from my cousin. Shout out to my cousin Siobhan for Christmas. And when I say that this is so durable.

SPEAKER_05

Did you just tear it?

SPEAKER_04

But you saw how hard it was to tear, though.

SPEAKER_05

It is quite durable. Like you, it's like Ray Jamn glasses. It's unbreakable. They're unbreakable. You can't break them. He said, I can I can break Ray J. I can break these glasses. You can't break them. Broke them. I don't care.

SPEAKER_04

Go ahead and remove that question from this. Um, I was gonna say, I'm sure that was probably up in there, but it's one of the yeah, there are there are there are okay. So are you ready? Are you ready for this double question? As ready as I'm gonna be, as that napkin was gonna be. Okay. Uh so this is in a different category. Now hold on, wait a damn minute. So, because it's the double and the triple, it's not in the same category. It moves into its other This is how we played in this nigga ass house. So this is like an Uno triple reverse. I see.

SPEAKER_03

Thank goodness I'm in my damn house.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, continue. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Do your worst.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, we'll see how worse we can do. You have to get both of these correct. Oh no.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well, listen, either I don't or I You're supposed to say she'd be like, I would get it correct if you would ask the damn question.

SPEAKER_04

Even though she doesn't get her the flowers that she well deserved, who replaced Jan Jane Hubert as the new Aunt Viv? Her name. And the second part of this question is what season did she appear?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, come on.

SPEAKER_04

Um it looks as if Blair is typing. Uh she is disqualified. I just thought this.

SPEAKER_05

It was this. How about type with one hand? I'm not that damn deck serious. Oh um.

SPEAKER_03

Um wait, wait, all right. I need some moments to think about this. You were about to say fun fact. Do your fun fact.

SPEAKER_05

Fun fact, the actress whose name you're trying to remember.

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit. It's the cheating for me. It's the camaraderie of the contestants cheating with each other.

SPEAKER_05

What are you talking about? Give him a clue. No, it's not a clue. It's a fun fact. Like I said, fun fact. The actress who you're trying to remember the name of used to babysit my father. She is from that so that's a fun fact.

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, so you know this answer? Hell no. Uh-oh. I felt like real, I felt real like, because I I I remember unless they told her friend.

SPEAKER_04

And this is why this is why this question is a tripled question, and this is why it's worded, she does not get the flowers that she deserves. Happy Women's History Month. She deserves it.

SPEAKER_03

Because because I I remember, I feel like I remember her name, but then I'm also thinking about the second part of your question. And I'm just like, when was it?

SPEAKER_05

What's the second part of the question? Oh, oh, oh, I remember it.

SPEAKER_03

Um ladies and gentlemen, okay.

SPEAKER_04

August. Is the is the electricity still on? Did we turn the buzzer on?

SPEAKER_03

Alright, alright, alright. Um fuck. Her name is Daphne Reed.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. What season? You have to get both in order to get all of the triple points. If you do not get all of those both questions, you'll just get it for the regular 500.

SPEAKER_03

I don't even I don't even know. How many seasons was there in freaking fresh print? It was at least fixed or seven.

SPEAKER_04

Six seven get off of this phone call.

SPEAKER_03

Now she brought it here. Now she brought it here. I'ma just guess.

SPEAKER_04

Please take an educated guess because understand, you will lose these points. So if I absolut So if I just bow out, I'll just get the regular? You'll if you if you bow out, you'll just get the 500. There's no triple. But if you get it. Get 500, 500, 500.

SPEAKER_02

I don't care, I don't care, I don't care. I don't care. So I'm gonna just guess.

SPEAKER_03

Such a hard guess. What am I gonna guess now? Um, fuck it.

SPEAKER_04

Four ladies and gentlemen, that is the best guest ever! Unfortunately for you, that is correct. Fortunately, actually, for you, that is correct. That was unfortunately.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, I was okay.

SPEAKER_04

Dang, that was that. Oh, I was hoping I was I was praying because she's a Detroit native, I was praying that you would stumble upon this. However, the cars didn't land.

SPEAKER_03

Did you know did you remember her name? Because I'm listening.

SPEAKER_04

All right. Fifteen hundred points is rewarded to the guy over there the other night. Alright.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Oh we have to be done.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. When someone's so popular, you know.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's not that. I couldn't have you.

SPEAKER_03

Um is there are there any other categories that are left?

SPEAKER_05

Black ass TV and movies and acronym black people should know, and then meme knowledge for 500 is still left.

SPEAKER_03

I thought he got rid of that category. Alright, let's take black ass TV and movies for 100.

SPEAKER_04

In this movie. In the movie, wait, in the movie Us, what is the name of the song Jordan Peel changed the speed to?
