Summer in the Psalms - Psalm 20: Taking Pride in Chariots

Sometimes, our prayers can be too timid or self-focused. As we continue our Summer in the Psalms, Pastor Connor guides us through Psalm 20, which models a way to avoid both of those pitfalls. In this psalm, the congregation intercedes for the king, asking God to help and sustain him for the sake of God’s name. Then, the king responds with confidence that God will fully deliver him from the enemy. We discuss what it means to pray for others in need, pray for more than the basics, pray for a heart aligned with God’s, and pray with confidence.
This week, our hosts dive deeper into the Psalms, specifically Psalm 20, some of the talking points were, how to approach God when you don't have your best to offer, what we should do if we are half-heartedly giving/serving, and how does one live wholeheartedly for Christ.
