The Importance Of Attending Daily Mass

I believe the mass is one of the greatest gifts and remembrances of our Lord. Although we could not be present at the Last Supper with the Apostles, we get to re-live that experience each time we attend just one daily mass. We are surrounded by God, for he is present in the holy tabernacle of the altar. The priest is presenting to us Christs body and blood, and we are present to receive all the graces of God as the priest holds up the flat bread above the patten and the wine, the blood of Christ held within the hands of a catholic priest with utmost reverence as he lifts up the precious chalice toward heaven. It is there at the consecration of the bread and wine turning into the body and blood of Christ, we are one. One in Christ, one as a church family, lifting up our every prayer to the highest heaven toward Jesus. Gods grace is bestowed upon his children who come to the mass, who are in a state of grace ready to receive him at the banquet. If we are not however in the state of grace, and we have committed a mortal sin, we must refrain from receiving the holy eucharist and make an appointment to see a priest face toface and receive confession and absolution from all of our sins. In this way, we receive forgiveness, and we can receive Christ and receive every benefit attached the power of the mass, and the power of the congregations prayers being recited together. We are very fortunate to have the Catholic faith transform our daily lives into holiness. This is why we attend mass, to be converted, to go on living out our best life in Jesus Christ our Lord our Saviour our Redeemer through his holy mother Mary who sends every prayerful request to her Son. Amen.
