And he can make sure your extension agent or whoever your point of visit is there.

Shannon Sand:

Yes. And related to that. This program, it's been almost a year,

Melelani Oshiro:

almost a year that we've been having this podcast on air. And so we are, of course, looking for some feedback from our listeners. And we will be creating a survey that can go out that will be going out and posted. It should be

Shannon Sand:

linked in our description box and our show notes of this. Yes. And

Melelani Oshiro:

it'll be on our website. We'll also share it in our Facebook page, and newsletter that goes out the range of livestock newsletter, you know, and feedback surveys are so important for us because we It just really helps to make sure that we're putting all the right content. Yeah, you know, that's important for you and relevant to what you need. And we have been so grateful to have such amazing guests on the show, and very thankful that they were able to take the time to be here with us and share.

Shannon Sand:

Very lucky Yeah, yeah. So plus, this is a nice way to have your voice heard. And if you have ideas or things you would like to see or like guests you would like to set, try and reach out to or have on. Yeah, this is a great way for us to kind of learn about it and make sure we're headed on the right track

Melelani Oshiro:

and stuff. Right. I mean, we're the ones sitting here doing the podcasts and it really, but really, we're trying to provide the information for you. So this stuff is for you. So if there's some one that you feel like would be really good to share some information on. I mean, send we are more than happy to for you to send the info and we can try and get outreaching contact those folks or whatnot. So you know, this will just continue to be able to have us to put out more episodes and continue this on in the future. Yeah, so we weren't. Yeah,

Shannon Sand:

yeah. Cuz I think this is definitely something we yeah, we want your feedback, because we want to be able to continue doing this. Yeah, no, I mean, it's important so we can have your your voice heard and we can make sure we're headed on the right track. Oh, that's true. That's true. Let's get right into the afternoon. Happy New Year. Mele and everybody. Happy

Melelani Oshiro:

New Years shout in. Yes. Yay. I hope you guys all had a very good New Year's celebration and got time to spend with your families and enjoy some time off. You know, it's been a busy year for us. I think for most Yeah. Yeah. So I'm, it was nice to just take your slicer take some time to kind of just relax for a little

Shannon Sand:

bit. Right. And it's been really nice. Yeah. So

Melelani Oshiro:

yeah. And then coming up this month. In our next episode, we have Dr. Dylan fetes who will be talking a bit about some of the tools he has been developing decision support tools, which will be eventually put online and online platform. And it all has to do with the livestock industry in Hawaii. Dylan's background is in economics and risk management and he comes from the Utah State University and has worked with the livestock industries in across the states in many different capacities but may in working at risk management and Economics and Finance, right Shannon was finding that correctly. Shan is He's almost like Shannon's counterpart, I should say. But at Utah State, because they both work in the same well, and

Shannon Sand:

he was like, head of his department and stuff. So he's been around a little longer and has quite a bit of knowledge and background. So yeah, he's really good. So it's been really nice to have Bill in here. Yeah. And he, you

Melelani Oshiro:

know, presented over the week Kettlemans conference. And, yeah, so we'll get to hear from him more and some of the tools that he's been developing and where all that information will be. So you have to tune in for that one. The next episode that's be coming out shortly, the following Monday. And then, of course, our National Livestock days, and other important days in January. Like January 1, New Year's Day, right. That's right. And one so Yeah, cheers again to everyone. Yes. January 4, National spaghetti day, you know? Yeah, my kids love spaghetti. I think it's just good. You can just need to want to hide any other protein in there for them. Really? What spaghetti?

Shannon Sand:

Yeah, that's true. What's our next January 5 is national keto day and national whipped cream Day, which I don't know enough about keto, but I'm guessing whipped cream might not be in the Keto, like food plan, but I like any excuse to have a little whipped cream on some pie or some dessert or sometimes even just by itself. That sounds like a good day to me. So yeah, yeah, yeah.

Melelani Oshiro:

And January 7, National tempura they Yes. I'm excited about that one, right. Oh, no, eat a lot of tempura for happy. New Years for sure. Okay, yeah.

Shannon Sand:

So that's exciting. And then January 10, is National oysters, Rockefeller day. We have to google that and see exactly what that recipe was and how that works. Because neither one of us really knew what that was about.

Melelani Oshiro:

Oysters, are they definitely yeah, food collection. But

Shannon Sand:

yes, yes. But we weren't sure about preparation and stuff. So yeah. But

Melelani Oshiro:

apparently it's a very tasty a way of eating oysters. So sounds really good. Yeah. Apparently

Shannon Sand:

so. So

Melelani Oshiro:

and our National Milk Day so for all our dairy men and women out there. Yes. January, January 11. National Milk Day.

Shannon Sand:

January 12, is National curried chicken day. I just like curry in general. So

Melelani Oshiro:

So do I. I love curry. Yeah. And not January 14. It's a National Hot pastrami sandwich day. Hot pastrami is sandwiches are like one of the best I think.

Shannon Sand:

I know. I was like, for sure. So and then January 20. is a national cheese lovers day, right? Yeah. I love it so much.

Melelani Oshiro:
