F1 2021: Verstappen takes control as Hamilton struggles in Turkey

Racingnews365 Season 1 Episode 15

The Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul witnessed a masterclass from Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas, but it was Max Verstappen and Red Bull who left Turkey smiling.

With Verstappen coming home second, and Lewis Hamilton in fifth, the Dutch driver re-takes control of the Driver's Championship.

But, perhaps more worryingly for Verstappen, was that Mercedes clearly looked the faster team in Turkey until Hamilton had to serve his engine penalty.

Are Mercedes now the quicker team as 2021 development draws to a close? Are Red Bull struggling for outright pace?

Analysing the Turkish Grand Prix are Formula 1 journalists Dieter Rencken, Mike Seymour and Thomas Maher, who also ask whether Mercedes need to assert more authority over Lewis Hamilton, or whether the reigning Champion was right to go against his team's instruction.

The RacingNews365 podcast also talks about Franz Tost's comments about F1 personnel putting up with 23 races in a season, and whether there are simply too many races nowadays.
