#24 L'atelier de Rafram

Elsa Despiney et Shiran Ben Abderrazak Episode 24

Petra Swais talks to Rafram Chadad about the role Tunisia plays in his practice, growing up in Jerusalem to a Tunisian Jewish family, and how he is now able to experience his ancestors’ memories in the everyday. He explains that the “homeland becomes a dreamland” and discusses magic and ghosts; how perception of time exists mainly in the past.

Rafram speaks about the emerging Tunisian art scene. He will be publishing his first book and is working on a project researching his family histories in Djerba, which will be shown in an exhibition in New York.
