Society & Eyes Wide Shut (with Joe MacDonald)
The lads get a little twisted as they plumb the depths of exactly what the sicko elites get up to behind closed doors. Take a deep pull off your Marlboro, throw on your tinfoil hat, and start connecting the dots...
Society (1989) Brian Yuzna's cult body-horror satire takes place in a comically unconvincing approximation of Beverly Hills, where teenage jock Bill Whitney (Billy Warlock) begins to suspect his parents and sister may be involved in a sinister, incestuous underworld.
Eyes Wide Shut (2000) Stanley Kubrick's final film was met with a mixed reception, largely due to a marketing campaign that packaged the film as an erotic thriller, exploiting the voyeurstic appeal of seeing then real life couple Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in what promised to be a sordid tale of intrigue. In the ensuining years, audiences have rallied around the film, with many now seeing it as among Kubrick's finest works.
Towards the end of the episode, Joe gives his take on a new film by one Dasha Nekrasova - The Scary of 61st .
