This is the Private Investigator Experience Podcast, and I'm your host, Phil Little. I'm gonna move a little bit out of my lane today. It's not an unknown lane because it's where I started my life, on the farm in Missouri. One of going to church, raised by godly parents, learning the power of prayer and allowing Jesus to rule supreme in my life We're in trouble world. And as an investigator, I've seen it firsthand as I've worked out around the world I'm alarmed beyond alarmed, and I'm a eternal optimist. From what I've seen, with the decline in American cities, the rise of evil and false religions, and the attempt to tear down America as it was formed, it's out in the open now, my friends. It's not something that's hidden, and it's time that we stood up, stepped out of the crowd, and let our voices be heard. I'm alarmed because I see so many people, young people particularly, or those less fortunate with their incomes and position in life, listening and supporting those who say that if they tear down America, get rid of our Constitution, our president, our Supreme Court, the Senate, and other things, that w- they will make everything just right for us. My friends, that's a lie straight from the pit, from hell Now, my journey with God has stayed with me through my whole life When I was in the military, I was a prayer warrior. When I was in law enforcement, I was a prayer warrior. When I was in intelligence service, I was a prayer warrior. And while I was building a private intelligence network around the world, I was a prayer warrior. As an investigator at West Coast Detectives International, I was a prayer warrior because that made me a better investigator. I was a follower of Jesus. That made me a better investigator, and I provide a better service for our clients because getting answers quicker. When I didn't know what to say in an interrogation or what happens, let me just whisper a prayer, "God, I need your help." And time after time, a question would come into my mind that I would ask, and it would break the case in wide open. I've sat in interrogation rooms where the FBI was present, wh- local law enforcement was all still working on the same subject that we were. And time again, they would say, "Phil, how did you do that?" I'd say, "I didn't. It was the chief investigator." West Coast Detectives International was known as a praying Detective Agency. I took it over in 1977 from a godly man who had been the second owner from its founding in 1922 I'm proud of the fact that we were known as a praying detective because I was able to offer more than just physical services for our clients. It made me a more effective person of sensitivity and kindness and understanding when people came to me with problems that you would not think possible. I think folks, when we at West Coast Detectives with over 150,000 cases we've seen just a little bit of everything. As it says in Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament, "There's nothing new under the sun." I'm proud to be called a praying man I've had operations out around the world. I've been in Israel. I've been in Lebanon. I've had an office for several years in Saudi Arabia. I worked with my friends in Saudi Arabia who respected me. They knew my background. They knew what I stood for. I respected them and their religion in their country. And unless they asked me what was the difference in my life because of something they saw, I'd share with them. But the God that I know, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, does not destroy people when they don't want to believe in Him. My friends, if there's a religion that says, "If you don't believe in us, we have a right to kill you," run. That's not from God If you hear about a religion that you have to work hard enough and hopefully maybe you'll be good enough to approach God, that's a lie from the enemy. Run. Salvation in Jesus Christ is not about works of righteousness that any man should boast, but it's a gift of God I've had clients tell me over the years, "Phil that's all you're charging me for what you've done?" The first time that happened, long time ago, I decided I liked hearing that because the charges were good for us. We made money on it. But because we went above and beyond, which is what every company should be doing, I liked hearing from clients, "That's all you're charging?" I did that because I was an effective prayer warrior who did everything I could to provide the best professional service with the least amount of cost, and God helped me do that. I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have had clients of every political persuasion, every religious background, and I respect every one of them. I would love all of them to believe like I do, but I know that's not gonna happen. And but I'm not gonna punish them if they don't believe like I do. I'm gonna be kind to them. I'm gonna support them when I can. And if they ask me, I'm gonna let them know what I think about moral things and the things that we do We just finished a message this morning for the church I've had the privilege of serving since 2018, the Harvest in Querétaro. God allowed me to become pastor there while I was building out a business in Mexico, of the English service. Pastor Javier González, the senior pastor, amazing man of God, a warrior, an evangelist, a teacher, a missionary at heart. Through that time there, I grew tremendously, and even though I've been gone four years, for some reason they haven't kicked me out yet. And once a month, I preach remotely a message to the church there that took over after I left, and have continued the work of the Lord there, the church getting out of the pews, and I'm so gratified by what I see happening. The only hope for America... I was reading things this morning on the internet. People said, "What can we do?" They laid out these cities in Detroit, and even across Texas, my friends, the Bible Belt, we see the move of anti-American attempts to overthrow our Constitution, our freedom of religion, our way of life, and people are falling for it. Wake up, America. It's time that we come out of the shadows, my brothers and sisters in Christ, and we stand up with a message that declares who our God is. The founder of our nation was done on godly principles. The Bible says there's only one answer. I read these reports today. What can we do? What is the answer? I looked at hundreds of things on the internet. Here's the answer, 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name," not the heathen, not the pagan, not the world, the church world, my friends, "will confess their sins, turn from their wicked ways, and pray to me, I will come and heal their land." That's the only way America is gonna push back on this evil to destroy us and take us back to a stone age I am glad that I have Him as my savior and Lord as an investigator. The message that I delivered today in Queretaro was eight steps for effective praying. I have so many people tell me, "I don't know how to pray." It's the toughest thing I do, because it seems like the mind goes a million ways when you start to pray. The old devil comes in and tries to do everything he can to disrupt us. So I just wanna quickly do some highlights of that message. I've had some questions about it, and I want it to spread as far as we can, as fast as we can. And so many people have told me, like I said, they don't know how to pray. So I want to look into scripture here for just a few minutes and see what we can find out about prayer. What is prayer? What's the definition of prayer? Prayer is a steady awareness of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. My friends, those that are watching, we have a God who is alive today, not in a cave hidden someplace, not in a stone or some building. We have a living God through Jesus Christ, and He's available to all who will come to Him and ask Him to come into their hearts. And the thing is, again, I'm gonna say this again, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will never force you to believe in Him. If you choose to not, He'll say, "Okay, go your own way. Find your own way." I've done that, folks. It doesn't work out too well, but He allows us to do It's creating a constant and seamless union of heart and mind with the Almighty that shifts earthly perspectives, plans, purposes as heaven becomes visible on Earth. So how do we pray? We've all read the Lord's Prayer, right? I mentioned those of you who don't go to church and don't profess God, you've heard of the Lord's Prayer. Our Father who art in heaven. So let's just look at those things for a few minutes to help us approach prayer in an effective way that will be heard and answered, and it's not just a form. It's not just saying a prayer. I've been using these steps recently in my prayer life, and it's made it more effective. But first, make it personal. Our Father. If Jesus Christ you're a son or daughter. If you don't know Him, you can by asking Him in. So let's... we go to the Father. M- my realization of Jo- God changed many years ago. I was talking to someone, and we were talking about praying and how we pray and they asked me, said, "Phil, what do you do when you go to your father's house? Do you knock on the door?" I knock on the door. I open it and go in. What do you do when you want something from the refrigerator? I go get it because I'm a son in the father's house. My friends, when we go to our Father in heaven, we are a son or daughter in the Father's house. We have rights as children of God. Now, I know, s- quick to say, God doesn't always give us what we want. Thank God. I always get an answer to prayer. I have people in Bible studies and everything look at me and say, "What? What do you mean you always get..." Yeah. It's either yes, wait, or no, and I'm okay with whatever it is because I know He is a just and righteous Father. Now- What's the goal to prayer? What do you want out of prayer? We want to see mountains moved, healing come, miracles in our work life or home or family or marriage. Lean in here. The goal of prayer is not about getting something, it's God. God made us for God. We're not made for another human being, either husband or wife or children, no matter how great all that is. That's important. Or for church, or for any political persuasion. God made us for Him, in His image, And then secondly, we lead with praise and worship. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. When we come to God with praise, it opens up His heart. He's concerned about what we need, but He wants to hear from us. He wants to have us ask Him, just as I loved when my children used to ask me for things, even though I knew they needed it, but I didn't offer. I was waiting for them to ask me. God's the same way Remember, it is communion with God that we are coming to, not just to hang out. Though that would be pretty cool, wouldn't it? Hanging out with the God of universe. When we come into this time with Him, our vision is naturally drawn to Him as we look toward to heaven, so we come with praise. Number three, then I ask God, "I'm gonna align with your plans today, God. Not mine, they haven't worked out well." How many times have you started something and you hit the wall, and suddenly you're saying, "God, come and join my plans. Help me." And He says, "Son or daughter, you should have asked me, and I would have told you not to do that." Oh, boy, I've done that so many times. Now what I want to do is say, "God, you're in charge of today. Guide me today. Take me where you want me to go, who you want me to be, what you want me to say, what you want me to do." There's a lot more to this, and I'm just cutting corners, folks, on this. I'm giving you some idea about getting with God, talking to God, letting God change us. Then I ask number four, I thank Him for what I need. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thank you for our daily bread. I thank Him for these clothes I'm wearing, the house I have, the air conditioning, the cars, the gas plenty to buy the necessities of life. Yes, we, my friends, when the majority of the world our poorest is richer than the majorities in the world. We're blessed here in the United States of America, right? We, if we don't stand up, step out of the crowd, and let our voices be heard, we will lose our freedoms. It's happened everywhere in the world. I've been there on the ground. I've talked to people, and the same thing, steps happened in their countries that are happening right here in America that led them into a Stone Age totalitarian ship that would kill them if they didn't do what they were told to do. So thank God. Set yourself up when you go to bed at night by asking God to come and clear your mind and giving your conscious subconscious. Number five, we are the heir. The Bible says we come to Him and we harbor anger resentment, sin in our heart, He won't hear us. So I say, "God, if there's some sin I haven't confessed, tell me. I'll confess it right now." My great friend Joy Dawson and mentor years ago told me that she learned early on after battling for days, weeks, and months sometimes with issues that she knew God was talking to her about it, she got to the point of saying, "God, now, today, tell me what I need to do and you've got it. I'm not gonna battle any longer." So ask him and he will bring to you exactly what you need to confess, my friends. I started that several years ago, many years ago. In fact, I was in Mexico at a church there, and let me tell you, God started bringing things that I'd forgotten, and it wasn't one big prayer. I said, "Forgive me of all my sins." It was individual. And I said, "Oh, my." I realized I had disappointed my God. I had made him sad that as his son I had misrepresented him in that way. And I started confessing. And I tell you, there's still things he keeps bringing up. But I say, "God, tell me. Tell me. I'll confess it. I don't want it if you don't want it in my life." Then number six Point yourself with the Word of God. If you're a believer, get in the Word of God more. Ask the Holy Spirit to describe to you, tell you what the passage means that you're studying. Just do speed reading to say, "Oh, I've done my Bible reading today." Take your time. Listen to God and ask Him to reveal, and He says He will. He says every word in 2 Timothy that He has written in His Bible is good for our reproach, our training, our discipline, and maturity today. So allow God's Word. Spend time in it. And if you've never read the Bible, pick it up. Go to the Gospel of John in the New Testament. I challenge you, read it slowly. And say, "God, if you're God..." Maybe you don't believe in God, and that's okay. Why you don't believe in God? I wished you did, but read. Take a challenge. Read the Gospel of John. Starting in John 1. It's in the New Testament. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, it's there. And feel what you find out. Now, God is our helper. Psalms 46 says, "God is our helper." Now, number seven. We're almost through here. Don't be afraid of the silence. Have you ever tried to be silent? Have you ever been in a group of people, even in a church, and somebody said, "Just a moment of silence." We're in a small group or a group, and suddenly someone has to do something, say something. It's like we just can't be still. We gotta fill it, and that's a trap of the enemy. One of the most powerful times of my life, because I saw it in Jesus' life, was in silence of waiting before God, of... Whenever I do it in the morning, my times of a morning, whatever time works for you. I have a journal there, and I write and I say, "God, here I am with pen in hand. I'm gonna listen to you and I'm gonna write what you speak into my heart." And it's amazing what will happen. Now, somebody says I have to be in church, or there has to be music, or I have to be woke up to the presence of God." No, I believe that. I started out as a young man in a church. Come from a musical family, playing like 10 or 12, leading choirs in my teens and 20 ordained to the ministry of a youth and music minister. And then God led me out in the business world, and I discovered all I have to do is get silent, look up and say, "God, I'm here to worship you." Feel the presence of God. I don't know about you, He just dropped here in my room. That's all you have to do. You don't have to shout, cry, fall out, beat yourself, cut yourself. That's in the... Pagans do and the Old Testament did when they served Baal and all these other ites. All we have to do, take time. You will be amazed at what God can do with you in the silence. Then be grateful. Gratefulness is power, and in the world it's found. It's not just in the church or around Bible. Gratefulness will set you free, and it opens up God the Father to pour out His blessing on you. If you're a father or mother, what happens when your child does something really cool and they come to you and say, "Papa, Mama, we need your help here. I wanna go on with this," or, "I wanna..." Whatever. And your heart just melts because you've seen what they have done. You've seen their effort, and you say, "Son or daughter, what do you need? You got it. I'm here for you." Then if our Heavenly Father made us in His image, He is the I Am that I Am. He flung the stars from his fingertips. If He says, "I love to do things for you, my son, but I need you to walk with me, talk with me, and follow me," when you do, wow, look out. The blessings are amazing. I'm gonna close this out. But I want to encourage you. We can do something about this. We don't have to be hopeless or helpless. 2 Chronicles 7:14. We've gotta turn from our wicked ways. We've gotta stand up, not with anger, no violence, nothing like that. We don't need any of that. Not with throwing accusations or condemning. Just declare who God is. Declare who Jesus is. Let the word of God stand on its own. It's sharper than any two-edged sword, and it can take care of anything that the enemy has thrown at us.
