Hello. Welcome everybody to a new episode of Aktien talk. My guest today is Malcolm Bell from Nova Pacific metals, and it's absolutely my pleasure to say, welcome, welcome
Malcolm J. Bell:It's really a pleasure for me to meet with you on this lovely day. I understand that you're in the sunshine somewhere,
AktienTalk:and we don't want to make people jealous at the other side of the world, but it's true. I have to, have to say that, Malcom, please tell tell us a little bit about your personal background, and then we go on from there.
Malcolm J. Bell:Yes. I have over 50 years of mineral exploration experience. I started right out of high school when I was 1617, years old, and I got offered a job in mineral exploration back then, and I worked for the Anaconda Company, which was the largest copper company in North America at the time, and we have a mine just, oh, I think it's about 40 miles north of Vancouver. It's called exploration office down because mineral exploration had had gone quiet. There was a downturn in the overall world market, and so I went into private practice and did consulting work for various different companies in South America, principally at the time, and working alongside people like Robert Friedland. And then, to make a story even shorter, in the last five years, I was working mainly have a chartered accountant. Patrick o'farity, he's got 20 years experience. We've got a venture capital and corporate finance specialist. And Nick Standish, 17 year career. And Scott Young, he's a special project specialist with 25 years in marketing, finance and business development. So that rounds up our management team.
AktienTalk:Impressive, but we want to talk about the project also. So what can you tell us about your project, where it is located, and what are its key attributes?
Malcolm J. Bell:Yes, we formerly were a lithium company, and lithium prices had collapsed, and so I went to my database and my contacts, and I'd look for a project of Merrick one with one that was advanced. And we were fortunate enough to find the Lara property on Vancouver Island. And I know Vancouver Island very well. I'd worked there myself in the 80s, and the Lara project was a very
AktienTalk:when I hear Vancouver Island, what comes to my mind is the First Nation discussion right now. It's, it's really important, and I would love to know how's your company handling this topic?
Malcolm J. Bell:Yes, we have. We have sent First Nations a archeological review that we did this summer. It's called an archeological walk through, and we've provided them with that they asked us to to do that. And then we've also provided them with a 2015 environmental impact study, which neither of those studies indicated that there were any issues with the area that we're working and it's
AktienTalk:Coming back to your project. Do you see geological parallels to other mines on the island?
Malcolm J. Bell:Well... As a matter of fact, there is a very significant project, mineral deposit. In mine that's been operating for 40 years just north of us. It's about 140 kilometers. It's not really that far in geological speak. It's in exactly the same geological formation as where we are with the Lara deposit. It's got the same chemistry, it's got the same grades, and it's it's a BMS
AktienTalk:Right when I made my research about the property, I had to recognize that Lara has a really long exploration history, so a former owner did a lot of drilling and found a so called VMs deposit. Can you please elaborate on that?
Malcolm J. Bell:Yes, VMs deposit means a volcanogenic, massive sulfide deposit, and these formed on the sea floor, as I explained. So this project was first discovered in 1982 and since then, they've drilled on the area that we're exploring is called the coronation zone. They've drilled approximately 365 drill holes. And they've also put in a an underground decline, which was access to it's a pre
AktienTalk:And what about the infrastructure around your project area? Are there any Mills nearby? Or do you have to build a new one down the road?
Malcolm J. Bell:As a matter of fact, we have a mine to market strategy. And what a mind to market strategy is, is that the plan is to to mine the deposit using contract miners at a rate of 500 tons per day. We bring the ore to surface, we stockpile it for the day, and then we crush it and we put it through what we call optical or sorting technology, complemented by artificial intelligence, and
AktienTalk:So, so you have a few different metals on your land package. Prospects for gold and silver are great right now. How do you see the future for critical metals such as zinc, copper?
Malcolm J. Bell:Well, Canada just came out with a mandate for, you know, the production of more critical metals. You know, the plan is called the Canadian critical mineral strategy for exploration to recycling and power the green and digital economy for Canada and the world. This is an ongoing event that's unfolding as we move through the you know. The carbon, get out of the carbon age and get
AktienTalk:Do you have any historical information about the metallurgical testing? If yes, which process could be the best for the material on your property?
Malcolm J. Bell:we aren't going to be processing or have metallurgy on our ground. We would with this direct shipping method. We direct ship our ore to a smelter. Now there are smelters in British Columbia. There's one at trail. It's owned by tech Corporation, the large worldwide mining company right now, you know, they ship zinc, con zinc, or from Alaska by rail to the port of Skagway, and
AktienTalk:And what is planned during your current exploration program? What are your goals for 2025 and beyond?
Malcolm J. Bell:Well, thank you for asking. We have a drilling permit waiting for approval, and we expect to get that in in mid February. Now that I'll go back a little bit the the drill holes that were completed on the property that, as I suppose, said, $30 million worth of exploration. Now that's historical drilling, and we need to confirm that drilling. And we have 43 101, report by an in places.
AktienTalk:Are you looking for further acquisitions.
Malcolm J. Bell:No, we're not. We're just concentrating on the one project. And the reason being is, I see a lot of companies with four or five projects that they're, you know, looking to make a discovery. That's why they have five projects there. And then the money that they raised, they had to spread it along five projects. You know, we're the money we raise is going directly into one
AktienTalk:Would you consider economic for VMs deposit? And when would a big player be interested in acquiring your company in this case?
Malcolm J. Bell:well, you know, back in the day when this was being drilled, there were major most of the major mining companies in Canada had tie on ground to this project. So we have had initial discussions with a major mining company. We have relations with them, and this would be ideal for them. Now, why would they be interested? Well, we have the potential to find another Myra falls
AktienTalk:Malcom, how is your shareholder structure? And if I may ask, what is your skin game,
Malcolm J. Bell:Well, I my myself and my directors, we have probably in the neighborhood of just under 10% equity interest in the company. Actually, I'm just thinking it's, yeah, it's probably just under 20 and then we've got friends and family that own, you know, another 40% and significant shareholders. There's about 35 million shares issued currently, of and then we just completed a financing
AktienTalk:And what is your exit strategy, prove up a resource and then sell it off to a mining company?
Malcolm J. Bell:Right now, the mine life only using 1500 sorry, 1.5 million tons, at 500 tons a day as a 10 year mine life. This project is open for expansion along strike at depth, we've expanded the size of the project in the last month. It's ideal for a large company to come in and make an acquisition. So whether that's our extra strategy or not. We're going to wait and see how things
AktienTalk:It really makes sense. So at the end of each episode, I am asking my guests to give me the three main reasons why people should put, in this case, Nova Pacific medals on the watch list. And I would love to to ask you too,
Malcolm J. Bell:yes. Well, I think one of the main reasons is that, you know, we have a market cap today of, let's see, under $15 million this project has had $30 million worth of exploration spent on it. We're about to embark on a 40 whole drill program that can produce some, you know, some of the best results that have been seen in for VMs deposits in recent memory. And we are committed to one
AktienTalk:I think that was absolutely interesting, and we should have a follow up interview in a few weeks, and maybe we will go a little bit deeper into the AI thing. Thank you very much for your time. Malcolm, that was really, really interesting.
Malcolm J. Bell:Thanks, Marcus. We're really excited about this project, and we're happy to share it with you and your audience. Excellent.
AktienTalk:I wish you a fantastic day, and we'll hear soon.
Malcolm J. Bell:Thank you. Bye. Take care.
