Welcome to High Lowbrow. The show with highbrow takes on lowbrow culture. I'm your one host, amanda Scriber, and I'm working out on Amanda.
Speaker 2Scriber and I'm working at on the remix River Gilbert.
Speaker 1I will never not be delighted.
Speaker 2I'm glad.
Speaker 1Yeah, I hope others are. That's just for you, it's just for me, yeah.
Speaker 2I mean, this podcast is kind of like just for us and anyone else who happens to enjoy us being us.
Speaker 1Yeah'm like, oh uh, welcome to our relationship yeah which nobody asked for.
Speaker 2I mean we asked for? Yeah, it's true, we did um it's hot outside it's hot. I sprained my ankle again.
Speaker 1That's three ankle sprains in third time's a charm yeah let's hope this is the third and final, I mean it's.
Speaker 2I've said to everybody I'm like it's going for brat summer but it's sprain summer yeah, I mean, uh, this time wasn't as cool no, I fell in a hole. I I texted my mom and I was like call me Courtney, love the way that I was in that hole.
Speaker 1And I you. You showed me that and I was like you sent us something similar to your brother.
Speaker 2And I was like they're not going to get those references.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't know why you were making these references. These are people.
Speaker 2It's like the podcast is just for me these are people.
Speaker 1It's like the podcast is just for me.
Speaker 2I live in my own state of illusion, delusion, where everything is just for me, it's just for me, it's, it's like I I need a little treat when I go out and this is my little treat. I love that.
Speaker 1Um, we're not going to talk about long legs I mean we could, but we're not going to do that today.
Speaker 2No, but TLDR is. It was fine.
Speaker 1I mean yeah.
Speaker 2Six, six out of ten.
Speaker 1We could marinate on it and think about doing an episode on it.
Speaker 2We can talk, but if you're interested in seeing or listening to an episode about long legs, leave us a text or a voicemail. Yeah, otherwise it's fine. Like it's fine. Fine, is it the scariest movie we've ever seen?
Speaker 1absolutely not. Yeah, I mean, like I think I showed you, even though I hate going on twitter, it still has some of the best like discourse yeah things.
Speaker 2Well, it's got the funniest takes yeah.
Speaker 1So I went on there to sort of see what people were saying and, uh, spoiler, people were like there was two inside of you there are two wolves.
Speaker 2Yeah, they're both gay, and one of them liked long legs and the other one didn't.
Speaker 1Well, I was gonna say yes, but one of them was like oh, my god, this is the best film, like I like horror's been reinvented. And the other one was like meh, it's fine, it's fine.
Speaker 2And it does A Sense of Dread really well. It's very atmospheric. The plot's terrible. Nick Cage is Nick Cage.
Speaker 1Yeah, this is us not talking about it. Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, but what we are going to talk about is reality television show, the backbone of high, low brow hang on, hang on oh sorry before we get sorry sorry sorry, you're supposed to tell me what makes your brain? What's making your brain go burr? Do you want to know what making my brain go? Burr, yeah, you start okay, uh, it's, uh, it's the new kesha song okay, yep um, it's so good it is, it's called joyride yeah, uh, and everybody's like.
Speaker 2It sounds like the mouse circus from uh coralline yes, um what's making your brain go burr?
Speaker 1um, even though it only happened yesterday, right before we went into the movie, I have to say all the memes and sort of tweets and takes. And what have you about Trump's potential assassination? Oh, God, I mean it's only been 24 hours, but I'm just like this is the content that I live for. I'm just like this is the content that I live for Now. With all of that being said, I think there's two things.
Speaker 2I want to like Uh-huh yeah.
Speaker 1One. This is like it feels staged as hell, uh-huh yeah, Like it doesn't feel real.
Speaker 2I agree.
Speaker 1And in that it's kind of like great. Well, now they're going to use Trump as a martyr. They're going to use this as a sort of like look what happened. They tried to take the man down. What I will say is that there's been minimal details released about the shooter.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1He was 20 years old. He was a registered Republican, so you know, we will find out in the days to come. Yeah, he was 20 years old, he was a registered Republican. So you know, we will find out in the days to come.
Speaker 2Yeah, my, my biggest concern is that they're one going to use this as a campaign. Uh, like that, that photo wins elections.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, I know. So again, like we, we kinda, we kinda know what, why and what this is going to do.
Speaker 2I'm also concerned that it's going to give them a reason to retaliate. Anyways, it's new. All of the memes are wonderful, though.
Speaker 1Yeah, all the memes are wonderful. The other thing that I was going to bring up is we would be remiss to not uh sort of acknowledge or understand that there is a current genocide happening, and within not even 24 hours. The entire news cycle was about how someone tried to quote unquote potentially assassin trump.
Speaker 2Meanwhile, there's been like Literal child murder for the past, like almost year.
Speaker 1Yeah, so make it make sense, make, it, make sense. Yeah. What's a bad burr. I mean it's an, it's like Burr is just a droning noise.
Speaker 2It doesn't have to be positive, it just is what it is.
Speaker 1It is what it is. Yeah, I mean, if you want something that's a little more positive, I have watched 20 episodes of Love Island In like Less than a week.
Speaker 2I was like, oh, maybe I'll catch up too. And Emma was like You're too casual for that.
Speaker 1I didn't. You kept calling Yourself casual and I for that I did you.
Speaker 2I know you're so casual and I was like no, you didn't have to say that, I was casual. Literally, it was how you were saying it.
Speaker 1It was like I don't know because I was like you need to make this your like whole personality not whole personality I've been doing other shit. But like I get up before work and I watch an episode. I watch an episode while I'm doing work, Like this is how I've been able to get to this point is that it's the we are not the same meme.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna. Now, I'm just gonna watch it, despite you.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean, like you've done that with animes and I'm not gonna like watch that yeah, but you don't watch anime right, you've never watched Love Island before this is fair. I've tried to like. You watched one episode and then you were like it seems very hetero and I'm like yeah, because they're heterosexual yeah, I think that's my issue.
Speaker 2Yeah, so too hetero, so I'm not. Why are you gonna try?
Speaker 1and subject yourself to hours of? I think that's my issue. Yeah, so I'm like Too hetero, so I'm not. Why are you going to try and subject yourself to hours?
Speaker 2of that's fair. Yeah, I appreciate that.
Speaker 1Sometimes I try.
Speaker 2You're like this is for the best.
Speaker 1You don't want this. Listen, I love that. You think that you want this? Yeah, but you don't want this.
Speaker 2You're like I love that you want this, yeah, you don't want. Yes. You're like I love that you're showing interest in my interests, but not this. Let's get you started with something nice and casual yeah pat, pat speaking of nice and casual oh my god, are we going to talk about the perfect match?
Speaker 1yeah, we are. It's season two of the perfect match yep um, and let's be honest, if you were on tiktok, you've been seeing them talk about season two of perfect match for a while now. Who was going to be on it, the drama that's been happening, so on and so forth. So when it dropped, finally on netflix, yeah uh, we hadn't watched it. I think we were like a couple weeks out.
Speaker 2We were watching the Bear, yes. So when it came out so we were like oh shit, yeah. So we started like watching a couple episodes, but then we're like we need to pick it up.
Speaker 1Yeah, but the reason I bring that up is because the news cycle was sort of happening and I was like, okay, we need to watch this like ASAP. It's going to get spoiledap it's gonna get spoiled. Everything's gonna get spoiled and I don't want it to get spoiled.
Netflix Reality TV Drama - Perfect Match
Speaker 2Um quote unquote spoiled yeah uh, so we need to watch this we know that none of these couples are going to stay together for very long uh if ever, if ever um. So, if you don't know, perfect match, it is the all of the Netflix properties, all the dating show properties that Netflix has.
Speaker 1Even, uh, this season they had some of the people from competition. Okay, oh, that's right, yeah, like uh Naked and um, or was it?
Speaker 2They had the terrible man from uh Squid Game's the Challenge.
Speaker 1Yeah, brighton, brighton, brighton, yeah, and then they had that. It was that show that we watched where they were in the forest and some of them went into a mansion like a villa.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, yeah, I remember what you're talking about, I just don't remember the name of it.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It didn't stick with me um yeah, they put them all in a house and they make them date each other. Yeah and um, this season was very messy so messy.
Speaker 1well, I think the other thing that we need to mention is they brought harry jouse, and for those of you who are familiar with any type of Netflix reality, you know that Harry Jousey I believe I'm saying his last name correctly is like the messiest of the messiest and such like the epitome of a red flag he's, he's like the netflix fucker, right, he, he famously just um goes after dom's exes, or rather dom's current girlfriends yeah, and like what's weird is that him and dom are friends that must be something like toxic on dom's part that he needs to work out.
Speaker 1Yeah, and also Dom was back this season. Dom was back, even though he won last season, yeah, so who else was on the cast?
Speaker 2Who else was on the cast? Okay, we're going to have to blitz through this because there are so many people. Yeah, we've got Alara, we've got Brighton. We've got Chris. We've got Alara, we've got Brighton, we've got Chris. We got Elise. We got Kaz. We got Micah. We got Stevan. We got Tolu, poor Tolu.
Speaker 1Yeah, Izzy.
Speaker 2Izzy, the plastic cup man from.
Speaker 1He gives me big Divorce, dad vibes.
Speaker 2We got Big Dad.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2We've got Jess from Love is Blind. Who was gonna give that one guy anaphylaxis? Yes, we've got Harry, we got Justin, we got Britton, we got Holly, we got Melinda, we got Dom, we got Jake, we got Dominique, we got Xanthi, we got Trevor, we've got Christine and we got Nigel. Oh my got Dominique, we got Xanthi, we got Trevor, we've got Christine and we got Nigel.
Speaker 1Oh my god, that's so many people yeah, and, like you know, the way the format of the show works is that some of them go in first, and so there's, like you know, just a few, not all of them, and then some of them are brought in as like dates for one another.
Speaker 2And they can decide whether they want to couple up or they want to keep with their own couples.
Speaker 1Yeah, and I think immediately, like in the very first episode, brighton matched up with Dominique and you and I were both like we hate this man, this man is like.
Speaker 2the first thing. I was like he rubs me the wrong way. And then he was like, well, yoga's not a workout, what are you talking about? And I was like, oh, I hate this man. Yeah, he's awful.
Speaker 1He is the worst.
Speaker 2And then he was like gaslighting and belittling her, they had to do the swinging thing. And she was like this is how you do it. Like gaslighting and belittling her, they had to do the swinging thing. And she was like this is how you do it. And he was like no, I'm just going to do it my way. And then he was like she was like that was what I told you to do. He's like what did you even go to school for? Did you go to college? And she was like I'm an engineer.
Speaker 1Like this.
Speaker 2This man is like somebody referred to him as a one-man podcast and I was like it was it, oh my god, in the last episode.
Speaker 1I fucking hate brighton so much well, and I think a lot of the cast came out after the show saying that he said some very like homophobic, transphobic. He just seems like misogynistic manosphere.
Speaker 2Incel absolutely, he like probably has compendium guides to like all of the game yes, um, micah was there and she originally did.
Speaker 1She originally match up with kaz, but her and kaz were basically in a in a partnership together for, uh, you know, a majority of the season.
Speaker 2Yeah, was it micah yeah, it was micah, it was micah and micah is like micah and kaz.
Speaker 1Their relationship together was very um bad. Yeah, it was like they were well matched, but they were also like you know, when you see a friend and they're in a relationship and you're like this feels like you two should break up it.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was. That it was.
Speaker 1You deserve each other negative, yeah, and it's like for all of the good moments that you have, there's also way more negatives a hundred percent and there were some like not to, and I think we we sort of talked about this, but you know, kaz would try and talk to her and then micah would be very upset about something, and I think that they kept saying to one another that they wanted to communicate to to each other, to sort of work through whatever was happening, because they said people kept coming after them because they were the strongest couple, but they weren't actually like they couldn't communicate to one another.
Speaker 2Well, do you know who they were? It reminds me of it was that relationship in this most recent or the previous season of love is blind, where it was like he seemed like he was a good guy and she seemed like she was crazy, but it was just because he was acting really kind and gaslighting her while the cameras were rolling and she was like freaking out because she was getting gaslit.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2She was the one who said that she looked kind of like Megan Fox.
Speaker 1Oh, yes, yes, yes. I think, her name was Megan.
Speaker 2Possibly I don't remember. In any case, harry and Jess, we have to talk about, oh my god yeah. So, harry, like love bombs, jess and Jess. She's a single mother, she knows what she's worth, she knows what she wants. She's like I'm not fucking around.
Speaker 1If it's a no once once, it's a no forever also like jess gives me ever since her season of love is blind.
Speaker 2She's given me like squidgy vibes I feel the way that she was talking to Miranda was it. She was the one that Harry kissed.
Speaker 1Oh, melinda, melinda, thank you.
Speaker 2That gave me like the way she was acting. I was like this feels racially charged.
Speaker 1Yeah, and there's always been a bit of like huh, I do know that she's from South Carolina, so you know, Not a point in her favor.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was like meh. But yeah, harry, love bombs her. A lot irks me about their sort of pairing and relationship is that, you know, she almost sort of feels like she's superior to others because she's like well, harry said this and I'm gonna stick by him because he's, he's told me x and like we have, we love each other and whatever, and she kind of makes it seem like she knows better than everybody else.
Speaker 2It does that.
Speaker 1That is what it smacks of yeah, whereas, like there were instances where the other women in the villa were coming to her with information, like in what you would see as like a reality television show, like girl power yeah but they're coming the girl's girl, yeah trying to be like hey, uh, we're just trying to look out for you because you're a single mom yeah you didn't want something that's like for real, and this man ain't it, and she gets mad at them and this is the other thing is it's usually black women that she's like
Speaker 2well, yeah positioning herself as superior to, and it's like that. That also makes me feel really gross.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2For obvious reasons yeah.
Speaker 1So many reasons.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1It's, I mean like Harry is not a catch.
Speaker 2It's like OK, so he's conventionally attractive, I guess, and cheats on everyone well, and I think we like so.
Speaker 1In the episode which spoiler he, the guys get a day to themselves with the other single women that have all been quote-unquote eliminated, and then the girls also get a day where they're with all the guys. So they get days away from their like matches, partners, whatever, and Harry during this day is flirting Him and Melinda are sort of like going back and forth with one another, carrying her the entire day, like with her and forth with one another.
Speaker 1He's carrying her the entire day, like with her, facing him, and yeah, and Melinda calls him out during the episode and says you know we kissed. Are you just going to like? Pretend that that kiss meant nothing, and then he's like that didn't happen, like in real time, just a boosh a race.
Speaker 2The and all the guys are being really cagey about it being like I don't know, I didn't see anything. Was it on camera? Yeah which guys don't do that. Don't do that shit.
Speaker 1That's really gross yeah, it's super gross. It's it was uncomfortable to watch in real time, because you kind of like saw this bro, that's bro code.
Speaker 2Yeah, and like bro, code's gross.
Reality TV Drama Deep Dive
Speaker 1Yeah, bro code is gross. I loved, though, that in the last episode the producers actually included all of the footage.
Speaker 2They had the footage. They're mic'd up the entire time, so of course they're going to hear kissing sounds.
Speaker 1Yeah, and the best part is, harry asks the producers could you not include that? Yeah.
Speaker 2Can you see me? Can you see this?
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And also says all these like gross things, like how he wants to her and pregnant yeah, he's like I put a baby in you.
Speaker 1It's like girl.
Speaker 1Yeah, like run yeah, so just in the end chooses to leave because she's like this man yeah um although I did read, like in my yeah deep dive after the show read like in my yeah, deep dive after the show that apparently they kept dating afterwards and they didn't break up. Because I'm not sure if you knew this, but on this current season of dancing with the stars, harry was actually on it and yeah, I mean like fart in the wind but um, but I guess. But I guess because Perfect Match hadn't aired yet, all these people who were there couldn't talk about the relationships that they had formed, anything.
Speaker 2Oh gosh.
Speaker 1So he was in LA and she's in South Carolina and he's, you know, like being Harry. So apparently she was supposed to fly out to go to a taping of Dancing with the Stars, sit in the audience, but then all of this footage came out of him, like with I forget who his partner was on Dancing with the Stars, but they were holding hands and she was just like I've had enough, which I'm like wasn't the kiss enough. I'm confused.
Speaker 2So also important to mention the entire season. We're like Harry's doing Tom Sandoval.
Speaker 1Oh, the turtling.
Speaker 2The turtling, the fake crying, the wiping away non-existent tears. The turtling.
Speaker 1What is funny is in uh, trixie and katya, we like to watch a perfect match too. They also called that out absolutely, because he's not crying.
Speaker 2He's not crying, he's manipulating he's.
Speaker 1It's such bad acting. It's like buddy. I don't know who you're trying to convince here, but it's not us uh, we gotta talk about tolu yeah because tolu was my favorite on the season.
Speaker 2This. I feel like tolu was dom last season I would agree with that, like the voice of reason the voice of reason, trying to put herself out there yep, trying to actually do it, and just continues to get shit on yeah, so Dom comes back, which we all know, and everybody like loves Dom, I love Dom. Yeah.
Speaker 1I followed Dom before he became a reality.
Speaker 2Not to be like that's a flex. Yeah, no, he was a seasonal depression guy.
Speaker 1Yeah, and like he was big on TikTok, yeah, Anyways, he and I know he's been on the offense online because he's been called out for his treatment of Tolu.
Speaker 1Yeah, Um but it was like I don't know and again, I think we've talked about this before I'm like I'm not sure if, like the way, like in his head, he probably thought he was communicating and he wasn't, because if in there's like a certain, there's a few clips, it's one of the challenge ones where he just looks like so uninterested to be there period and like not like he does not fuck with her at all and I was like that's so like rude yeah, like.
Speaker 2So. She matched with izzy the first night. Yes, then don, she went on, was sent on a date with dom and she matched with dom yeah, because she was very excited yeah watched the last season, having seen dom's personality on social media uh. Then he said they get like top couple and he's like I want to explore this to the fullest. And she's like, wait, what? So she matches with Chris and Chris is also a fuck boy who's like just kind of jerking her around.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And it's like I feel like Tolu can't catch a break.
Speaker 1Yeah, break, yeah, apparently uh again in my deep dives, post watch yeah uh, apparently, chris, like just ghosted tolu after the show oh, fuck that man yeah so and I mean we kind of got glimpses of that as we're watching, because on that sort of day where the guys get to go with the girls, yeah. Xanthi sort of calls him out, yeah On his shit, and is like wait a minute. Huh, like you. I thought you and Tolu were together and you're like you're perfect. I guess not.
Speaker 2We also, then in the end she matches with Izzy as like friend.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And I'm like that'm like that's nice, Like I want nothing but the world for Tolu. Yeah, I feel so bad for Tolu, I mean.
Speaker 1Tolu's gonna be just fine Well.
Speaker 2Tolu got the good at it this season.
Speaker 1Yeah, and what I mean by Tolu's gonna be just fine, is that like?
Speaker 2Oh yeah.
Speaker 1Anybody who's watching. This is just like look at the material yeah like beautiful woman yeah, like that's, that's who you want to be with yeah you're not gonna go with like any anybody else yeah uh, we gotta talk about the winners, because the winner were.
Speaker 2Winners were Nigel and Christine Christine, who were both dates who didn't get chosen but then matched up at the last second. Yeah, and then everybody hated everyone else, so they just voted for them.
Speaker 1Yeah, I was like I remember, as we got to the final episode and they were going into that vote, I was like wouldn't it be really funny? Again, I tried to avoid spoilers.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1But I was like, wouldn't it be really funny if they all just went and voted for Christina and Nigel and they've only been here for like two episodes?
Speaker 2Well, I remember I was like well, it's obviously going to be Stevan and Elise.
Speaker 1Alara. Alara, yeah, oh okay, yeah, elise was the blonde that ended up matching with Brain at the end. Which I was like girl. That is a choice.
Speaker 2Run.
Speaker 1And like it's giving misogyny.
Speaker 2But they're just boring.
Speaker 1Well, I think it's that I wouldn't so much say boring, but I think it's. They even said they had met each other at an event previously in New York.
Speaker 1They I think it was either Nigel or Christine. One of them had feelings for the other but didn't know if the other reciprocated or thought they were attractive or whatever. So this was the first time that they actually got to like act on anything, and so I don't think it was so much boring as like. In the grand scheme it was probably the most authentic and genuine out of all.
Speaker 2I was talking about Stevan and oh.
Speaker 1I thought you were talking about Christine and Nigel.
Speaker 2No, I was talking about Stevan and.
Speaker 1Lara, I was like they're boring.
Speaker 2Well, I don't were talking about Christine and Nigel. No, I was talking about Seven and Lara. I was like they're boring. I don't know anything about Nigel and Christine because they were on one episode.
Speaker 1Two.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Okay, but yes, I like.
Speaker 2You paused it and you're like do you know, what would be the most chaotic is if they won?
Speaker 1And then they won and I was like hell yeah. They won a fabulous trip.
Speaker 2Yeah, I, I was like wait these people don't even win no money, just they just get a trip. They get a trip.
Speaker 1Oh, maybe they're paid by the episode perhaps, but um again in my deep dive post yeah viewing nigel and christine actually stayed together for like nine months?
Speaker 2No, no, it's almost a year.
Speaker 1Yeah, they were together for quite some time, whereas everybody else-.
Speaker 2Immediate, immediate split.
Speaker 1Nothing happened.
Speaker 2It was a showmance for everybody.
Speaker 1And Christine did an interview where she said you know, I really love Nigel. The reason why we broke up is because I guess she cheated on him. Yeah, that's right, and he was like I can't do this Yep, which is so valid.
Speaker 2So fair.
Speaker 1And she acknowledged and recognized the part that she played in the demise of that relationship.
Speaker 2Yeah, the cheating.
Speaker 1Yeah, you know the cheating, so I think Overall it was a fun watch.
Speaker 2Yeah, I mean like it's a quick watch.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Except for the finale, which is almost two hours.
Speaker 1Yeah, and like let's be honest.
Speaker 2For no reason.
Speaker 1The finale did not need to be two hours At all. Like an hour.
Speaker 2Maybe, but I mean like they rolled in like the reunion into it.
Speaker 1They should have just cut it into two episodes.
Speaker 2They should have two episodes. They should have.
Speaker 1Absolutely. There was no point for like two hours, we don't need that. I was just like fuck. This is like watching a movie and like Perfect Match the movie is not good.
Speaker 2I know we're running long, but do we want to talk about the Mole?
Speaker 1Yeah, we can talk about the Mole quickly, okay. So we, right after we finished Perfect Match, we were like what are we going to watch now?
Speaker 2And we saw the Mole, season two came out.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Revisiting the Mole Reality Show
Speaker 2And we loved the Mole season one. It was great.
Speaker 1I loved the Mole If you haven't watched the first season, which Dom appeared in. You should go and watch it because it's actually like a fun reality show yeah, it's big traitor, vibes. Yes.
Speaker 2Except we don't know who the Mole is.
Speaker 1Yeah, big traitor vibes yes, except we don't know who the mole is. Yeah, they never. They never tell you and you, almost with the cast, have to try and figure it out. Yeah, but some of the strategy that I found was super interesting this year of some of the people who were on the cast was that they wanted to act like the mole so that they could throw off the gameplay of other people.
Speaker 2So that happened in season one too, but like, okay, we're going to obviously spoil it. Yeah, my big issue with this season was the person who won. It was Michael, and his entire strategy was I'm going to be the mole. Yeah, I'm going to fuck everything up to make everybody think that I'm the mole, so that I can basically have a handicap while I am in the voting process. Yeah, so he did that, but they couldn't show like his thought process, so he just looked incompetent.
Speaker 1Yeah, and it's interesting because Michael and I think I told you about this. Because Michael and I think I told you about this. Michael did an interview where I guess because they can't really like they don't have phones he had a notebook where every day he was taking like his debrief notes of each individual and I guess he knew from like the first episode who the mole was.
Speaker 2He knew from the first episode who the mole was. He caught the mole in the, at least as far as what they showed on TV. Yeah, as of episode three, it was when they were at the dinner, yes, and he saw the mole pull someone's photo off the wall and he's like oh fuck, okay, they're the mole Amazing.
Speaker 1Yeah, so there was that, um, but the the cast was actually very. We had deanna who was a webbs I loved deanna yeah, um, who else did we have? We had ryan, who was like a volleyball coach yep, uh, we had.
Speaker 2Uh, we had andy, who was, like uh, older dude. Yeah, uh, we had. Uh, my two favorites hannah and tony no hannah and uh amuna oh, okay, I love.
Speaker 2Like it was so funny in the first two episodes, like I fucking hate these people. And then I was like, actually I love these people because moon was like she's like acting so meek and she's lying outright, and but like the longer I spent with her I was just like, oh, she's awesome, I love this woman yeah, and actually um the the final episode, she actually she figures out who the mole is too because she talks about how she has.
Speaker 1I don't know if it's a photographic memory, but she has a very like.
Speaker 2Well, she's a software engineer, yeah, so she's very. She deals with algorithms and patterns, yeah.
Speaker 1So she's like I've got this. It was something about recognition.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And then they had to step on mines and make sure nothing blew up.
Speaker 2Yeah, to step on mines and make sure nothing blew up yeah, um, and the mole whose name I'm not saying just in case you would like to go and watch it.
Speaker 1Um, kept trying to throw her off and tell her to step in a different direction and she was like are you sure?
Speaker 2100 yeah, and she's like oh, that's the mole, okay, cool, I mean I know who this is and it just came down to two questions yes and michael, because he figured it out so early. He spent the entire game trying to get to know the mole so he could test well yeah, so michael played a great game. He didn't show on tv, uh, which was unfortunate. I would have loved to see a bonus episode which was all of the interview questions with Michael after the fact.
Speaker 1Yeah, I also think it was interesting that the three people who went to see the mole because they had this episode where you could spend however much money to go see a movie of one of your competitors.
Speaker 1Five thousand dollars, five thousand dollars and you to see why they said that they would be a good mole in the game. Uh, in interviews that they did with them and the three people that selected who the mole, actually they weren't gone like I think they, except for ryan yeah, ryan, but also ryan left pretty late in the game.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was uh kind of as soon as you. If you watched this person's movie, it was like oh, they're the mole.
Speaker 1Like there's no way we can not see this it's very mole, like yeah yeah, um great season yeah, we watched the entire season three days, yeah, three days.
Speaker 2We started it. Uh. Then the next day I was like I wonder how many episodes. I was like oh, we're caught up. And then the next day was friday and then, which was the finale? Then we watched that instead of going to see long Legs, and then the next day we saw Long Legs and that was not as good as the Mole.
Speaker 1I mean, facts are facts and you know what. The final episode of the Mole was not two hours I know we have to talk about Hannah.
Speaker 2Yeah, I loved Hannah so much.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2The very beginning I didn't like her because she was like I think. I just don't like it when people are, when heteros shove it down our throats.
Speaker 1Oh, are you talking about the showmance between her and Tony, her and?
Speaker 2Tony yeah, because like they had to sit in a chair and like they're like okay, as soon you can tap out whenever the last person sitting gets the exemption from the quiz, but you will lose all the money that has gone from the pot. And Tony and Hannah basically were like we're not moving and then she starts flirting with him and I'm like it's a tactic.
Speaker 1Don't rub our faces in it well, I mean, at least it's better than when niche bid the all the entire 59 500 on an exemption. Yeah, fuck that guy. Yeah, and everybody like literally lost their mind from the get-go I was like I don't.
Speaker 2Nish seems like an NBA bro.
Speaker 1Well, I said, he seems like one of those Instagram coaches that you would see being like. Can I help you do better in life?
Speaker 2Let me tell you how you walk into an interview. Meanwhile does not have a full time job.
Speaker 1Basically yeah, so that was the vibe I got from yeah, tldr team hannah and moona yeah, team hannah, I I'm. I'm more team moona than hannah, but that's fair, that's so fair.
Speaker 2Yeah, I just thought hannah by the end of it was so cunty I loved her hannah was very cunty I love her like hannah got very close. I think hannah or moona should have won I would have loved to see moona one I mean because she kept like being like, yeah, my family's immigrants and well, I even I remember, because I don't think we mentioned this, but uh, moona is in a hijab yeah and so I was like 100, she's not the mole.
Speaker 1Because if they did that, I feel like, oh, where the political climate is, there's gonna be spin, there's gonna be gross comments about it, yeah it was like not because I have anything wrong with that, but because I know white people in america are genuinely terrible.
Speaker 2Yeah, not great, not good.
Speaker 1Muna's probably not the mole.
Speaker 2Probably not.
Speaker 1Spoiler.
Speaker 2Muna was not the mole. Go watch the Mole. We loved it. Yeah, it's a relatively quick watch, it is. They range from 40 minutes to an hour episodes there's 10 of them. It goes by quick, it is.
Speaker 1They're like range from like 40 minutes to an hour episodes. There's 10 of them. Goes by quick, goes by pretty quick. I guess that's the episode.
