Romans 3:27
(27) Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
According to the Word Aflame study Bible note on vs 27 Here, the word “law” means a principle. Since man’s salvation is based on the principle of faith in the work of Christ, not the principle of works, no man can boast.
Romans 3:28
(28) Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Romans 3:29
(29) Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
Ezekiel 18:4:
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Numbers 27:16:
Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
Most of what we see in the Word of God is God’s relationship with the descendants of Abraham.
It is clear though, when reading the Word, that Yahweh created all races of men, and He alone is the God of all men whether they recognize this fact or not.
Paul says;
Acts 17:24:
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Acts 17:25:
Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
Acts 17:26:
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
Romans 3:30
(30) Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Colossians 2:10:
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Colossians 2:11:
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
When we read Acts 15th chapter and then go over to Galatians, we would get the idea that circumcision was of the utmost importance to the Jewish people, and rightfully so, it was the sign of the covenant given to Abraham, but it had a deeper meaning that God was trying to get across to Israel;
Deuteronomy 10:14:
Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD’S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
Deuteronomy 10:15:
Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 10:16:
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
As far as the covenant goes, yes, circumcising a male on the 8th day was very important, but God had long ago tried to get through the hardness of their hearts.
Micah 6:6:
Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
Micah 6:7:
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
Micah 6:8:
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Joel 2:13:
And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
The point is, God was always looking for the circumcision of the heart. Any of us are capable of putting on a show of loving God and being His people, but the apostle John says it this way;
I John 5:1:
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
I John 5:2:
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
I John 5:3:
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
We can put on a show, blow the trumpet before us as we drop the tithing envelope into the offering plate, we can pray for half an hour when we are asked to pray the closing prayer, that’s all fine, but the apostle is saying, if you really love God, if you are really grateful for being saved from condemnation, there’s a biblical way to show it, keep His commandments!
Romans 3:31
(31) Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Psalms 111:7:
The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
Psalms 111:8:
They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

God’s commandments, what we call the 10 commandments, are eternal. We establish His law because now instead of being written on stone tablets He writes them on our hearts so we don’t forget them!
David says;
Psalms 119:11:
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
But God speaking through the prophet Jeremiah takes it further;
Jeremiah 31:31:
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jeremiah 31:32:
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jeremiah 31:33:
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
I understand that this may cause some to question exactly what I’m saying, but you will have to stick with us until chapter 11 to get the gist of it.
It’s never going to be ok to have another god. It’s never going to be ok to have a graven image or to take His name in vain.
Yes, we love God, but the difference is now we want to obey Him, we want to keep His Word!
