Those habits, the daily and weekly habits that have you prioritizing your business and making it work is what we're here to talk about today. Welcome back to 10 Minutes to Being Boss. A bite-size show, offering up tips, tools, and tactics for helping you do business. I'm Emily Thompson. And in this episode, I'm sharing four habits to help you prioritize your business. But first here's a bit about our sponsor, Podia. You know, one of the things that I love at most about Podia is that they are here to support creators like me, and also likely like you too. Now I've recently done episodes on prioritizing projects in your business and putting your creativity first as a business owner. But today I want to talk about the habits that has you putting your business first in the event, that that is something that you are struggling with. Whenever you can make your business a priority, you are that much more likely to make this thing work for you. So here are four habits to help you along the way. First is you have to start. If you are not already planning your week, I talk about planning your week all the time, because it's important. I do it every single week. I sit down once a week. And plan out everything that I'm doing for the week. In the context of helping you prioritize your business, this is where you sit down and you block out time for yourself when you are going to be working on your business. Block it out and don't let anything touch it. If you need help planning your week, and one to learn more about this process of time blocking your calendar, I've created some free training for you that you can get at beingboss.club/time. You can get it down below in the description or in the show notes for this episode. Planning your week is the best way for you to prioritize to name the thing that is most important. For you in this case, your business setting time aside for you to show up and do the work that you know, you need to be doing to make your business work for you. Next up is you have got to also be scheduling CEO time. If you are struggling with prioritizing your business, it's quite likely that this is because you're doing. The hard, boring or lame work that is also required for you to run a business, but that work isn't fun. You find yourself in a place where you are just simply doing the daily grind, the day-to-day to do lists. It's not inspiring. It's not necessarily fun. And though it is an important part of being a business owner, you're never going to get out of doing those day to day, grind tasks in your business. You also need to remember that you are the boss and to schedule CEO time in your business, you are putting your business first and you are making sure that you are working on your business as well as in your business. And as a business owner, you will likely find that time significantly more motivating. Spiring and will actually help you make more sense and find more fun I'll call it. And the day-to-day grind that probably has you in this place in the first place, helping you carve out this CEO time for yourself, for you to be working on your business. It's actually something we're pretty passionate about here at Being Boss. We've even created a tool set called CEO day kit. That includes guidance and worksheets for you to take a whole day and do a years worth of planning in your business. In that one day, you're going to find more about CEO day kit being boss.club/ceo, and use it to not only carve out this time for you to be the CEO, but also for you to make those big picture plans in your business. Now, CEO day kit does help you create a CEO day a once, twice, maybe quarterly in your year. But what we are talking about here is some weekly or daily habits. So even though CEO day kit will help you create an annual habit of being the boss of your business. Scheduling CEO, time is also something you should be doing every single week. Most bosses that I know carve out about half a day, every single week, maybe it's Monday morning or Friday morning for you to sit down and do those overarching plans to check in with your annual CEO day, the plan that you create and that day, or to otherwise check in with your vision or goals and make sure that you are on the right path and to chart your path towards those goals. So habit number two is schedule your CEO time. Habit number three is to intake business content or otherwise be inspired. Now this one is honestly a bit of a tricky one because a lot of times people keep themselves from doing the work because they're really just intaking too much business content. And here's where the problem lies is that it is not so much a habit as it is a way for you to procrastinate what it is that you are supposed to be doing. So instead of using intaking business content to procrastinate, instead of create a habit of intaking business, a content so that you can gain the broadening perspective, the insight. The, uh, the assistance and guidance, you need to do your work, but do it in a way that you control that you can tap into to be inspired or motivated to continue doing your work. This can be something like being a part of a monthly business book club. We actually have one of those in the being boss community or in sitting down and listening to your favorite podcast once or twice or three times a week. Whatever it is for you create buckets of time. You can use that time blocking in order to do this, to set aside designated time for you to intake that business content, to grow as a business owner so that you are doing it proactively and not as a way for you to procrastinate. And then habit number four is for you to actually just celebrate your wins, make it a habit to, for yourself to celebrate the things that you accomplish in your business all along the way. I often say that you should not only be celebrating the large milestones that you achieve in your business, but you should also be celebrating the small wins along the way. This can also help you stay inspired or motivated to continue doing the work. And this is one of the joys of being the CEO of being the boss of your business is that you can achieve lots of things every single day. And you get to choose if when and how you are celebrating those wins. Another angle of this is also in you making a point to reap the benefits of the hard work that you are doing. Whenever you are reaping these benefits, it's easier for you to continue prioritizing your business. It acts as a sort of positive feedback loop. The more work you do on your business, the more rewards you get to reap, the more you are encouraged to work on your business. So whenever you can really tap in, and celebrate your wins to reap the benefits of your hard work all along the way. It is going to be so much easier for you to show up and prioritize your business. Now, those are your four habits to help you prioritize your business every single week, work these into your weekly habits. And don't forget to check out the extra resources along the way either. Video in the description or for the show notes of this, if you were listening to it as a podcast and as always, thank you so much for coming to hang out with me. As I shared these poor habits for you to be more boss in your business. I have a couple of these I need to get on this week. So if you'll, excuse me, I'm going to go get started. So you soon. Until next time, do the work, the boss.
