The Brigham City Council on Wednesday approved the donation of surplus police radios to Box Elder County, a decision rooted in the city’s departure from Box Elder Communication Center emergency dispatch and the continuing effort to maintain communication between agencies now operating under different dispatch systems. The radios became surplus after Brigham City, along with Perry, Tremonton and Garland, transitioned emergency dispatch services to Weber Area 911, ending the county’s shared dispatch arrangement and forcing both city and county agencies to address interoperability concerns.
