Growing participation in athletics at Box Elder High School is straining limited gym space and making it harder for the school to accommodate Brigham City recreation programs, BEHS Athletic Director Jesse Roberts told the Brigham City Council at the Aug. 6 meeting. Speaking during the public comment portion of the meeting, Roberts said Box Elder High has added seven sports during the past seven years without adding gym space, increasing competition for indoor facilities during the colder months. “We didn’t increase gym space, but we increased sports,” Roberts said.
