Brigham City renews wildfire resource-sharing agreement

The Brigham City Council approved a five-year wildfire resource-sharing agreement at the Aug. 6 meeting, allowing the city to recover eligible costs when its crews assist elsewhere, and to obtain outside resources when a major fire exceeds local capabilities. The Utah Wildfire Resource Memorandum of Understanding is an addendum to the city’s existing cooperative agreement with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands. Fire Chief Brandon Thueson said it is part of Utah’s Cooperative Wildfire System.
