County staff directed to advance project to zone unzoned land

The Box Elder County Commission directed the county’s community development department and planning commission to prepare a proposal for zoning the county’s remaining unzoned land, nine months after the planning commission first requested permission to address the issue. No formal vote was taken at the Aug. 12 meeting. Box Elder County Community Development Director Scott Lyons said the commission’s direction was enough to begin developing a proposal.
