2 Timothy 1, Paul encouraging Timothy from death row

Paul was about to be martyred for his faith by Nero and he knew that he needed to encourage Timothy to stand strong against false Gnosticism once he was gone. Paul also wanted to remind Timothy of his solid faith in Christ. He did this by using his own faith as an example and his own persistence as example.
