And we get these two freshman kids, they come up to us and say, Hey man, we want to wrestle, you guys, we want to fight you. Like some brown shit. And one of those guys was Jeremy here. Whoa! And there's another guy named Fernando.

SPEAKER_11So we're like, okay, bet. Meet us out in the parking lot in the bandfill at 3 o'clock. So we come out there, me and my friend Chris, we get our wrestling shirts. We're ready.
SPEAKER_10And this guy, me and Fernando decided to wear a fucking Luchador mask.

SPEAKER_02I'm like, Yeah, that's crazy. That's cool. So intimidation factor, I get it. Oh, we tried.
SPEAKER_11I'm like, right away. I look at Chris. I'm like, man, I hate what I'm about to do to Rey Mysterio right now. So we we like start beating each other up, of course. Well, it was kind of one started. Uh big guy. Well, and we're wrestling, putting them in walls of Jericho, all the submission moves you want, we were just going for what we knew. Beating our ass. And at the end, we were cool. Shook hands. Yeah, shook hands. Are we friends? Yeah, friends.

SPEAKER_11Yes. Oh, yeah. We've been cool. I remember we had a this is how I knew this guy was my boy. So we had a class called BCIS together. Oh shit. It was like a computer class, right? That's right. I remember that class. Yeah, I remember that class. I don't think they upgrade it anymore. So I remember the one the teacher came in there one day and they're like checking people like for mustache or beards or whatever. I'm babyface rain out here, no hair. Like, you see now what I got, like this is all I've ever had. You work hard for that. I see. Thank you, thank you. So the teacher comes in and looks at Jeremy and tells Jeremy, man, you could this boy had a mustache probably in like five hours.
SPEAKER_02She was peach for us. She was like a three-year-old man, I bet. Peach for us. Don't lie, bro.
SPEAKER_08She's like, Yeah, yeah, you need to go.
SPEAKER_11I was like, What? So she's like, Yeah, you need to shave, you need to shave. And Jeremy's looking around, he's like, Man, that girl got a mustache right there. She got a shave.

SPEAKER_10So, you know, I'm a truck driver, by the way. And so, like, I used to use uh iHeart a lot. Yeah. And so they had a podcast session. I mean section. And so they use, you know, it was like Reviv's Club, Seahart Morning Show. Um, you had uh another guy I listened to his name uh Alonzo Bowton. Oh yeah, uh Gary Owen, uh Bill Burr got his own. And so I noticed like so I was like all they doing is talking. Like, I like talking. So that being said, I was I kind of like analyzing different podcasts. And so like Alonzo Bowden, Gary Owen, and even uh Bill Burr. So they all like comedians. Well, they ain't all like they all comedians. And it was about themselves. I'm like, I'm gonna sound crazy if I do it by myself. Like I I have one, like I said, it makes me sound crazy. Like, yeah, that's right, you're the Jeremy, you're doing crazy but then I have no like nobody to kind of push against me with my beliefs or my thoughts or anything like that. Like no other thoughts, it's just one-sided. So I was thinking like, I was like, well, maybe I could do this with somebody else.
SPEAKER_05I'm like, see, who can I do it with? Hey bro, kudos on now, because most people wouldn't do that. They wouldn't think like that.
SPEAKER_10Well, I mean, if you think about it, well, because I mean, to me, I think the most dangerous thing is a person with his own thoughts, his or her own thoughts by himself. Solitary confinement is like, why you think solitary confinement is like the worst thing that you can do to a person? Because all you guys are your thoughts. Yeah. Yeah, that's a developer point, yeah.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. And so some of my thoughts are fucked up.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, there's certain things I won't say out loud because I'm like, Yeah, examples.

SPEAKER_10Right, exactly. So um, I was like, I thought about Chad. So I was like, man, so I asked Chad. Chad, hey bro, let's do a podcast together. And he was like, Nah, I'm cool on that, bro. I I can't do that.

SPEAKER_11It's because, like, okay, I listened to podcasts at the time too. Yeah. And I was just like, man, who wants to hear me talk? I don't even like the sound of my voice. Like, I don't want to hear me like on a record. Like, what are we gonna be talking about? We didn't he we kind of didn't have like that together at all. Uh but the one thing that kind of led me to it was the realization was that one day, so it was a little bit after that, me and him went to GameStop in the morning after the gym or whatever, so pick up some video games or whatever, and we got into a debate. I don't, I can't remember what the debate was about, but we were gonna do it all the time. So we were sitting there talking, like going back and forth in GameStop, and the people just start coming over there, like joining in on what we were talking about. And I was sitting there, I'm like, wait a minute, I think we can do that.
SPEAKER_05Oh, you saw the magic happen, right? Yeah, I'm like, yeah, because in real life, dad.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, because it's like so. When that happened, I was like, wait, now I'm starting to second guess myself because I'm like, this happens a lot with me and Jeremy. Like, we went to anime Marseille one time and we had like a party following us because of a debate about I can't even remember something about anime related.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, we were debate.
SPEAKER_11We were sitting there talking, and these dudes just started following us around the whole time. They just like liked our conversation and they were just like hanging out with us and kicking it. So I'm like, man, like this has happened multiple times. Like, I think we can do this. So I'm like, Jeremy, you know what, bro? Let's go. I'm down.
SPEAKER_10Wow, it's like three times access out of the way.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah. I was like, I'm down. I'm like, I'm down, bro. Let's go. Let's go.
SPEAKER_02So it was like three times over like a year span, or like within uh, I'd say about six to nine months, man.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow, so it was still a good little photo, man. Damn.

SPEAKER_05Yeah. So how'd you guys go about it? How'd you start literally the tinkering, like developing the podcast, the name, how'd it come about?
SPEAKER_10So, okay, I came with the format of what we're gonna talk about, right? You know, because we always talking about music, uh, anime, and it's funny because we don't really talk as much nowadays about music, but I mean we do uh anime, video games, wrestling. The top three things we like, and then first it was music too, and we we threw that in there first, and you know, like you see if you ever like watch our past so to now, it's like yeah, we kind of shot away with that.
SPEAKER_11Because somebody's a grandpa when it comes to music.
SPEAKER_10Anyway, uh so I'm sometimes good with names, just sometimes, and I'm like, okay, I got what we can talk about, like we can talk about it very well. But when it came down to um names, I was like, what the fuck are we gonna call this shit?
SPEAKER_06Like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_11Like, what you got? And J. Give me a minute, give me a minute, yeah. So I was like, man, give me some time to think it over. And I couldn't think of anything. I was just like, uh, I don't know. Two black guys, I don't know, bro. What am I calling? I don't know. Yeah, but then I was like, wait a minute. So we're like, I like to think that we're kind of funny. Yeah. And I'm like, You guys are fucking hilarious. Thank you. Thank you. So I'm like, wait, we're talking about all these different things. Not we're not just talking about anime, we're talking about video games, music, pop culture, comics, all that stuff. I'm like, it's kind of like a mix of things. More like a few fusion ha!

SPEAKER_11So I sit there, I'm in, I'm in, and so I'm at work, and I like call this guy. I'm like, bro, I got it. Fusion, fusion ha. And he's like, oh my god, that's genius. But we throw an extra A at the end for like ha, like funny. Okay, okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_05So, how'd you guys come about deciding just you two individuals? Like, how did that go? Just us two, and that's it, nobody more, nobody else. Or how did this uh take route?
SPEAKER_10I mean, I just wanted to just chat myself at first, you know. And because I mean you can talk to anybody if if you're good at communicating, you know? Right. And like this guy is myself, you know. We can communicate with anybody. Like, I tell people all the time, I was like, I can talk about fire hair, it'll be a fire conversation straight up. Just chat myself. I was like, just us, because we we were trying to do hanging things, obviously. Yeah, and like uh kind of go back a little bit. Chad just like, okay, let's do it. And then he bought a mic and he downloaded Idacity, and it was just audio flight thing, like the first what, six, seven episodes? Yeah, maybe even ten. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And hell, one of them, my wife was in there, and we were doing it for two fucking hours.
SPEAKER_11We were trying to be Joe Rogan for real. Joe Rogan for real. Wow, bro. Yeah, it's and it's funny because I was like, man, how long can we do this for? Like, I don't know, like, yeah, because we you kind of mentioned around that like time frame, I was like, bro, we can't do that. Man, that first episode went by so quick. I was like, dang, we're almost at three hours. I was like, yeah. But at the top, I'm like, man, this is fire. Three hours, let's go, we killing it. But we go back and listen, it's like, ooh.
SPEAKER_10I listened to at least one and a half times. I was like, and when people go, I listen to the first episode so goddamn long, I'm going, you are brave. You went through the whole episode. You went through that shit. Yeah, like I got to because you know, I want to see how good we are, and then what we can improve on. This is just a learning lesson for me, including Jad. But you did, just because you're nice, I'm like, man, you're gonna get some black wings when you go to heaven. God damn. And um, you know, and believe it or not, it was a friend of mine named Jordan, he was on there too, so you can't nobody say, like, oh, you don't like gay people, like the first episode. Episode one, bro. Episode one. Piss my ass. Shout out, Oda. There you go. You know what I'm saying? So I'm glad you're about to like I'm just being funny, obviously.
SPEAKER_05How was like the first, like your first couple days starting out, like your first years, how did that go about? I mean, oh, like how you started, because I'm sure like I think you said the episode was three hours, right? But like it was like two to three hours, yeah.
SPEAKER_09Okay, because we had the kind of kind of the same thing, like our recording sessions are our first ones, they're like long, long, long. I understand. And we go on this like random long tangents. Yeah, we had no real path or train of thought. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10So everybody does it.
SPEAKER_11So I know like at least at the beginning, like the first episode, we kind of mentioned a little bit what we want to talk about, but after that, I started thinking like maybe we should be like, okay, we're gonna talk about these certain things on this episode so that way we can kind of at least okay, even if we go off on tangents, at least there'll be tangents somewhat hopefully kind of related to what we're talking about, and we can tie it in. Um and that's what we started doing in the beginning. Kind of we started doing it in the beginning, which was kind of cool, because yeah, you know, I feel like in the first episode we were rambling, like it was just like we talked about like Dragon Ball, which I mean we could talk about Dragon Ball all day, but it was like Bro we talked about Krillin all day, bro. Yeah, goat.

Like my wife just happened to come in, we were talking, and she kind of like, yeah, yeah, you know. And it's all like, you know, she's like, my listen, Miss Elizabeth. And I'm like, Randy Savage.

SPEAKER_05I was about to ask that, because in your journey, how is the support growing over time? Like, how's it going for you guys?
SPEAKER_11Okay. That's you guys, first and foremost. Thank you. Absolutely. That's honestly, I'm not gonna lie, not like, you know, trying to just blow smoke up y'all since we're here, but meeting like you guys, yeah, you guys and meeting the phantom nerds, bro. Like, this was like this was like the highlight of like what we've been trying to accomplish. Yeah, same. Same here, guys. So you guys were talking about like what Jeremy mentioned earlier that we're very personable. Like, I didn't think that I was, like, because I'm a very naturally shy person. Oh. But doing this podcast, I never really realized that I have like this skill and ability to talk to people. Yeah, I've always wanted to be able to do it because I used to want to be a journalist like as a kid. Yeah. Oh, okay. Like that was like all like a writer or something.
SPEAKER_05I can see that you advise, you know? In the middle of Ukraine, you know?

And this is like a support system that we love. But like in the beginning, it was just our family, our wives, you know, they're watching the kids. We gotta sit there, record, we gotta try to figure these things out. And before, it was just me and Jeremy doing this, getting like one view, two views, three listens.
SPEAKER_05Gotta start somewhere. Yeah, I mean some, right?
SPEAKER_11Yeah. And it just kind of blossomed and bloomed. And I think things really took an uptick and turn when we got our first interview. A guy named Patrick Hickey Jr. reached out to us. Oh man, we and yeah, that's at the end of the day, we was like, girls.

SPEAKER_05So this was your first interview? How'd you guys go about it? How'd you guys uh book it?
SPEAKER_11He came to us.
SPEAKER_10He came to us on Instagram.
SPEAKER_11Oh, wow. He came to us and was like, hey, I saw you guys' podcast. Has someone uh framing to you, uh, how do you feel about interviewing me, you know, in my comic stuff? Wow, man. Like, because he's like a comic comic book creator, all around awesome person. He just does everything. Yeah, yeah. He was just like, How do you feel about interviewing us? I'm like, uh, yeah. But then at the time, me and Jeremy are like, hey, we ain't never interviewed anybody before. So it's like, of course, we promised, we're like, yeah, let's do this, but it's like, we don't know what we're doing.

Chad does his freaking homework. I did at that time I did some homework, and then like later on, it was kind of like I'm kind of lacking days with certain things. And when it came to that one, you know, after you know, he he did all the talking, this, that, and the third. Chad ask his questions, I asked my questions, blah, blah, blah. Then when he got off uh the Zoom meeting with us, Chad and I look at each other like we did that, bro.

My man, and we were and we were ready to go. So that just I'm like, man, there's so much we can do. So that's when I started getting the courage to apply for panels to do these different things, yeah. And then we got another interview with a musician and Charlie Cope, Charlie Cope, he reached out to us too. And it's funny, I the exact thing that brought him to us is I posted a meme about Loki. Like when Loki first came out, yeah. That's what it was. Yeah, okay. Wow, yeah. He was like, Man, I like Loki too. Hey, you would you mind coming on the show? I'm an Americana artist, you know, which is like somewhat like country focusy, whatever.
SPEAKER_10We're like, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_11We're like, shoo, why not? Sure. We get anybody on here that wants to listen to us and you know that wants to sit there and uh chop it up with us. You know, we did their interview, it went well, and that's when I was like, wait. Saturday morning. Yep, Saturday morning, and I'm like, wait, we just interviewed an Americana artist. We pulled this interview off. Yeah, we don't know anything about this kind of music. Hell no. Anything at all, but we were we pulled this off. We can do anything. We listen to it. We listen to his music. Oh, absolutely.

Yeah, yeah. That's a very like um from my perspective, maybe I'm ignorant in this on the field, yeah, but I don't see a lot of people talk like wrestling like you guys do.

Choji down with the swirl man with the swirl. And um him and his daughter, like she's like trying to meet like a movie star or something like that. So like the ninjas are trying to do that. I'm like, bro, at this point in time, y'all is fighting for y'all life in the forest to death. This is what y'all doing in episode 80 right here. That's what we doing. Yes, I mean, um so I just stopped. I just stopped watching it, I couldn't do it. And then they went to like a really great part in the mangas when they um they go back in time to Naruto age. Yeah. So Boruto and Sasuke go back in time because they're trying to stop. What? So back in time travel? Yes. So the enemies in Boruto are the people or Kagia's people. Like the I forget what they're called. Um but basically they're basically coming to uh do the job that Kagura couldn't complete. So they're trying to get the chakra from uh bring still all the chakra or whatever. So those are the main villains, which makes Shapu make more sense now because I hated Kagya's existence in there. I feel like she should have never been in there.
