Hey, welcome to a brand new episode of Man to Man 360. I'm your host, Darrell Anderson. This week I'm bringing you the man cave edition, the live version of the message I introduced last week for the man cave. This is it. We're gonna jump right in and remember to go to Man to man three sixty.com. That's man the number two man three sixty.com. This is the message here. It is in its entirety. Man cave edition of it's time to Get outta the Boat. Hey guys, how's it going tonight? Good. Oh, we got, we're in the u shake tonight, huh? Hey, big. How's it going, sir? Good. I smell good food. Yeah. Yeah. How's it going guys? Tonight, guys our topic tonight, or our theme tonight is time to get out the boat. And and obviously you know that's probably talking about Peter walking out on the water. But with that, I wanna show you something tonight where when we see that, we just see Peter stepping out in the water and then he sayings and Jesus saves him and all that. But it was way more to that story than just that. Actually there was a lot more to that story right before those verses. That link all these miracles together.'cause because can people step out on water today? Probably not. As a matter of fact, we never really saw it again other than that one time with Peter. So it wasn't like Jesus was trying to test to see if, hey, greater works. You should be able to step out water too. Probably not. But it was something greater he wanted us to see in that particular miracle. And we're gonna see that tonight. One of the things that that we see with a lot of guys is that, there are, there's always gonna be times that you're gonna step out of the boat. How many guys married here? That's it. That's all. Okay. So we got a lot of boating jumping out that we gotta do tonight. Meaning at some point somebody stepped out the boat to get married. Somebody said, you know what I'm tired of just doing, ah, let me just step out on the boat. Somebody decided to buy a house. Somebody decided to do something new and different. And so sometimes we think that salvation in the kingdom. I remember one time we was in our connect group when we talked about working the kingdom. Everybody in the class assumed it was passing our tracks and sharing the love of Jesus. I said, no, that's only 10% of the kingdom. Yeah. That's only 10% of the kingdom. The kingdom is not you passing our tracks and sharing Jesus, because then what else is there? If that's the case, once you get saved and you pass out a track, we can die. No, we should just be spread. No. There's more to the kingdom of God than just sharing Jesus and passing our tracks way more. And there's also way more to the believer than getting, oh, Chucky, what's up, man? Than just getting saved. And then just believ for, and just love and just telling people that Jesus loves you. No, you are missing 99% of what the walk is. Why was man created in the first place? That's a easy question. That's a trick. It's not a trick. Why weren't we designed to glorify God? To glorify God, but through a specific thing. What was the thing that Adam did when he was created? Take care of the, which was called what? It starts with a w.

Work.

Work. You was designed to work. Not to praise, not to sing, not to do all these things. You was designed to work. What is the work that God has called you to do? See, that's the catch. What I do I take down trees. That's his work. But what I have my business. Then that's work. You was designed to accomplish something on the earth, not to just phase out Earth and go straight to heaven. If that's the case, then we would get saved and die and go straight to heaven. But you was designed to do something. Your bodies was built a certain way to accomplish work. But what is the work? Some of the work is intellectual, some of it is spiritual work. Some of it is manual, but whatever it is, you was designed to do something and then once you was designed to do the work, you was designed to do it to another level than everybody else. Because if you're gonna be the tree man, you better be better than all the other people that do tree work. Why, so you are gonna get bigger and bigger with, in that business or if you're gonna be the firefighter, you might be the next lieutenant. In other words, we was designed based on Genesis one in 26 through 28 to multiply and to grow. And so tonight, why are you getting out of the boat and what are you getting out the boat to do? But you're supposed to be getting out the boat. A man is not supposed to stay in his mama's house. Amen. A man is not supposed to say man, or a woman is not supposed to remain in his mother's womb. Go back to his mother's womb. A man is not supposed to be taken care of by other. You are all supposed to take care of somebody, even if it's one person, two, two people, 12 people or a hundred people. And some of you actually take care of a lot of people, but your job is to take care of somebody. Even if you don't live with them. You take care of people. That's your job to take care of and look out for other people. Jesus is gonna show us how to do this tonight. And so tonight when you leave here tonight, you're gonna be thinking of how can I be that blessing? How can I what? What can I, what do I need to do to step out of this boat? And what do I, what am I stepping out into? Or it's a scary place to step out in the water. Because most times you sink. Actually nine point 99.9 9 9 9 9 9 9 times you sink. Unless it's ice, then you don't. But other than that, you will sink. But not when you're trusting the person that's calling you out in the water. Amen.

And so tonight we're gonna talk about that tonight because I got a feeling each one of you got something, including myself. We have something we're gonna step out into. Yeah. But you don't know how old I am has nothing to do with age. Yeah. But you don't know the infirmity or the illness I have or the Or. The handicap I have has nothing to do with that guys. It is gonna have nothing to do with race, color, nothing. It's gonna have nothing to do with income level. There's guys in here who make six and seven figures. There's guys who make four and five figures. It's not gonna have anything to do with that. Yeah. But my credit rating got nothing to do with that guys. Yeah, but you don't know. It has nothing. I'm single. It has nothing to do with that. I'm married, I'm nothing, I'm divorced. Nothing to do with that. Amen. So there's no limitation at this point, and I'm excited to share this with you tonight. So guys, tonight we are gonna step up the boat. How many you guys ready for the man cave? Yeah. Hey. Oh, there is no, no room for excuses. There's no room for excuses, guys. Because you are gonna find out that there are gonna be, we're gonna talk about the excuses. There's gonna be an excuse. But they don't, there's no room for excuses. But that's the beautiful thing. He actually has something for you to do. See, it is one thing if only certain people were called to do certain things, but he actually has something for you to do and you, he actually has something for you and you to do well. No, maybe those guys, Nope. You. See. They're more educated than me. Nope. You Oh. That's why I love Jesus.'cause I'm a dummy and he can still use me. Amen. Amen. We're gonna talk about that tonight, guys. It was funny he brought that up. We didn't know how he's gonna bring that up, whatever. Huh? You know what I was looking into this right. And they were they in, in one of the links, it showed these guys who said they believe they know how Jesus walked on the water, that it was a once in a lifetime chance, that during the storm there was a wind that caused the water, the strip of water to drop below 32 degrees, and Jesus walked on ice. I said first of all, that's a lot of faith to see that strip of ice in the middle of the darkness. I couldn't I can't take it, guys. I you need more faith for that foolishness than anything else. Amen. But I wanna first start in the obvious place. Let's go straight to 22. And and you know how we do, I'm gonna have you guys read I, I'm gonna show you something here but before we go I'm gonna give you a head notice of what, how I'm gonna preach this message. Hey.

So what we're gonna do tonight, so the cool thing about the gospels is that you have one guy standing here and you got four camera angles. You got a camera angle here that sees what I'm doing here. Then you got another camera angle that sees if, but you missed what's going on here. Then you have another camera angle here. What's these camera angles? You got St. Matthew. You got St. Mark, you got Luke and you got John. They catch different things. They're all catching the same thing, but they're catching different things. And I'm gonna show you in here why Peter actually walked on water and why you are gonna be able to walk out of that boat and do the exact same thing, if not greater.

Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land for a strong wind had risen and they were fighting heavy weight

In their fear, they cried out. It's a ghost. But Jesus spoke to them at once. Don't be afraid. He said, take courage. I'm here.

Stop. What's the key word in that verse in verse 27? Don't keep. Nope. That's not it. Who stay? Courage. No, I am here. That's the key. Ver that's the key word. The key word is, I am here, which I'll explain it in a second. Keep going.

When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.

Then the disciples worship.

Darryl

They're what? Worship. They worship me. And what? And keep going.

Speaker 8

You really are the son of God.

Darryl

Oh, you really are. So now we know that. Okay, keep going.

They explain after they had crossed the lake, they landed at y. No. When the people recognize Jesus. The news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area. And soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed.

Darryl

Okay. Keep going.

They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe and all who touched him were healed.

Darryl

Okay. Now I'm gonna, I'm gonna sh I'm gonna move a little fast with this because I want you to see something here. So now the disciples, which was traveling with him for, I don't know at this point, I don't know if it was two years already. Three. I don't know. Now you decide, you realize, oh, you are the son of God. Wow. And the people gathered. Why did they gather? They gather for why. Why did they gather to get healed? Okay. Now I want, now I wanna take you to the obvi, to the place that was there all along, because this story doesn't end there. It actually to, to some degree. It does end there because we're gonna go backwards. Now we're gonna go read verse 13. Somebody read verse 13, same chapter, verse 13.

Okay, now this is the second time they're telling you what kind of place this was. That's key. Once you see something mentioned more than once, then you need to start to key in on that. Now say that again. Read that. Read that again.

Now, when you look at the strong concordance in that one that word actually means desolate uncultivated. And matter of fact, when it puts it in human form, it means a rejected person. I want you to keep those and keep going. Keep going,

Stop. I'm thinking you somewhere else. Guys, I want you to go here. I want you somebody grab one Corinthians nine. Quick grab. One Corinthians nine.'cause some of you were supposed to be stepping out of ministry. Some of you were guys were supposed to be stepping out into business and stepping out into some risky areas, but you're saying, yeah, but hold on now. This ain't the right economy. It's desolate. This ain't the right time. It's desolate. This is not the right place. It's desolate. This isn't, this ain't it. And besides, I need to be able to take care of my family. My wife is gonna be screaming if I walk off and start some ministry or start some business. And we're we, this company is pretty reliable with our$25,000 we make a year. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. You are trying to tell me if I step out into the area that God wants me to step, that he's asking me to step into, that he's actually gonna provide. So you are gonna step out of the ministry. You are gonna come away from your comfortable job. You are gonna come out that comfortable boat, and you are gonna, you're gonna, nah. But it's comfortable here. And all the other 11, they're still here too, in the boat. We're all here with our 4 0 1 Ks. Oh wait, this is you, but, and Jesus said what? What's the one word? He said? Come,

How many are ready for the man cave? Yeah, the man cave is developed around, we call it the five pillars. There's praise and worship where we sing a song or two and really just invite the president of God in and get the guys singing and clapping and whatever, and really make a push on getting guys into the music. It's typically guys like to avoid phrase or lifting of hands or singing and that type of, so we really put a focus on that. And then we go right in from that into prayer, intercession, prayer. We ask guys if there's certain things that they want us to pray for, to agree with them and pray for and we make sure to focus it on them. Sometimes guys will say, Hey, listen, I got this neighbor and you pray for them. And we're like no. We want to know what is it that you need prayer for? Because, Because you're the neighbor, that's your job to pray for your neighbor. From there, we actually go into the competition part. Now that's the exciting part of the man cave. It just creates that competitive. Peace makes it exciting, but it gets that testosterone uh, bubbling up and everything else. And there's a reason to that really too. I've been doing men's ministry now for almost 30 years. A lot of times men don't really have those men focused things at churches. So in some cases. To guys, it can feel a little um, feminine or emasculating in some cases. And because of that, we wanna make sure that there's a, a, a masculine feel to men's fellowship. It's both fun, it's inviting. It's also used as a fish bait to get guys out to. The other reason that we do competition is so, so we can create two teams, and in creating two teams, we create a, a comradery between those guys. They stay on those teams for the duration. You don't go from second Friday to second Friday? No. You, you, You're contacting guys in between guys are able to reach out, guys are able to, Hey man I'm really dealing with this thing or struggling with this thing so they can reach out to somebody. We go from the competition park and then we go into the work, we go into scripture, we uh, do some teaching, and then we. Make breakout into breakout groups. The breakout groups allows guys to be able to um, answer some things or share their thoughts on those same top topics. That was just preached a few minutes ago. The word is a two-headed sword. It cuts open things. It exposes us to ourselves at least. To what's really happening on the inside or the things we've been trying to cover up and hide. And then we break from there and then we eat. That's a great time to be able to dive in and just really see how guys are doing. Pastors and churches don't have a men's ministry. You're missing out on the opportunity to. Free that man from that thing. He's been trapped in that, that stronghold that's been in his life ins ministry allows him to be free, vulnerable, and then free.

There was 12 baskets. Did you guys ever catch it? There was 12 baskets. How many a disciples were there?

That meant he had enough to take care of you, but I need you first to do something before I feed you. There's a reason why leaders eat last. I need you to serve first, but I'm gonna take care of you. Yeah. But if we serve them, we won't have nothing else. Uhuh. That's not how you think you serve first. You do what I tell you to do. And then I'll provide for you. I gave them 12 baskets. Are you hearing this? He was gonna provide for them? They didn't necessarily know that they was also gonna go be able to take this home with them, but Jesus was saying, no. I'm gonna make sure you are well taken care of. You just do what I asked to do first. Amen. What is the thing that Jesus asked him to do? Asked Peter to do? Come. Why did Peter sink? Come on. Come on. Why did PE everybody come on? Somebody say, why did Peter, he took it. Hold on, hold up. I always have for years heard people say the reason Peter Sink was because he took his eyes off the Lord and I can't find that in scripture. He did look at other things distracted him.

He paid attention to'em to the other things.

Because it does say that the waves were on the left or right, that he like, and to your point, it doesn't say that he looked away because the wave was flashed in front of him and he, they just, he just looked focused away from the wave and looked back. He could still be seeing Jesus.

Darryl

Yeah. Yeah. Now everything y'all said was good, but it's still not truth. I'm gonna tell you why, because last time I checked in the ocean, the waves can get 10 feet tall. So if that's Jesus, the wave goes up. Do I see Jesus? No, but Jesus didn't say step out on site. He said, come. He said, if I hear you call, I'll come. It wasn't based on seeing Jesus. It was based on obedience. Just doing what he said.

Come cop. They didn't get it. They didn't get it. They didn't get it. It was the relationship,

father and dad and a son. If I tell my son, come, he hears my voice. He understands my voice. Yep. And he does that trust he has. But the moment that he said solving the issues that desperate,

Darryl

he said, my sheep hear my voice. And another they will not follow. So I recognize the voice if I don't never see him.'cause remember it's three o'clock in the morning, you ain't gonna see him pitch dark. You ain't seeing Jesus. I know everybody says'cause he took his eyes off and he couldn't see'em. No, it's because he focused on what was negative. He focused on the waves and he believed the waves over what Jesus said. True. That's what will happen. He did not. It wasn't'cause he saw Jesus. He didn't see Jesus. It's because he believed the ways, first, he believed the economy. No, this is the wrong time to step out in the business. No. This is the wrong time to step in the ministry. Hey man, ain't nobody going to churches and ministries no more. Jesus, step off in this. Good job to do that for I didn't call you in. No. You obey his voice. Amen. You obey his voice. Now watch this. Watch this. Guys. I'm gonna get ready to wrap this up.
