From the stage to the studio, Ashara Shapiro’s creative journey has been anything but conventional. A Magna Cum Laude graduate in Acting and Theater Education from Emerson College, Ashara spent years as a performer and arts educator before expanding her artistic reach into creative writing, design, and entrepreneurship. Her latest venture, ArtWRKD, located in Newtown, PA, is an experiential space that houses a gallery, artist studios, and a workshop hub designed to foster community and creativity.
In this episode, Ashara shares the bold vision behind ArtWRKD and the challenges of bringing such a multifaceted space to life. She opens up about her transition from performance art to visual arts, her passion for supporting outsider and emerging artists, and how launching ArtWRKD became her bravest moment yet.
