After personally experiencing the authority and power of Jesus as he spoke peace to raging sea, the disciples were left sitting in like stillness and wet from the rain, and they were wondering, Who is this man? Even the winds and the waves obey him. Over and over again, we have written in the scriptures the names of Jesus. And I thought it would be good in this particular podcast episode is to highlight the names of Jesus, at least some of them. There's something that happens when we behold him, and that's this. We become like him. It's not a matter of us doubling down in life and trying hard to be religious. That's going to score some sort of points with God. He already loves us. We can't make him love us anymore. The best thing we can do is to cooperate with him. In fact, that's one of the main reasons why this podcast is in existence. It is to encourage relationship with God and with one another. A type of relationship that's a growing relationship. And so names of Jesus, there's something in the name, but there's something more in the person that carries the name. And the names of Jesus are powerful. And we want to take some time and highlight them so that you can have them and focus in on them so that there would be something that would transpire in your life that would cause your relationship with him to grow, but also your relationships with each other to nurture, to be nurtured as well. And so, without any further ado, here are some of the names of Jesus. First of all, Advocate Almighty Alpha and Omega Amen Apostle of our profession Atoning sacrifice for our sins author of life Author and Perfector of our faith, author of salvation, beginning and end, blessed and only ruler, bread of God, bread of life, capstone, chief cornerstone, chief shepherd, Christ, Christ creator, deliverer, eternal life, eternal father, gate, faithful and true, faithful witness, faith and true witness, first and last, first born from the dead, God, good shepherd, great shepherd, Great High Priest, Head of the Church, Heir of all things, High Priest, holy and true, holy one, hope, hope of glory, horn of salvation, I am image of God, King Eternal, King of Israel, King of the Jews, King of Kings, King of the Ages, Lamb, Lamb of God, Lamb without blemish, last Adam, life, light of the world, line of the tribe of Judah, living one, living stone, Lord, Lord of all, Lord of glory, Lord of Lords, Lord Yahweh, man from heaven, mediator of the new covenant, mighty God, morning star, offspring of David, only begotten Son of God, our great and God and Savior, our holiness, our husband, our protection, our redemption, our righteousness, our sacrifice, our Passover lamb, the power of God, precious cornerstone, Prince of Peace, Prophet, Resurrection and Life, righteous branch, righteous one, rock, root of David, ruler of God's creation, ruler of the kings of the earth, Savior, Son of David, Son of God, Son of Man, Son of the Most High God, source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, the one mediator, the true stone the builders rejected, true bread, true light, true vine, truth, way, wisdom, wonderful counselor, word, word of God. I have personally experienced Jesus through many of the names found on this list, but one of my greatest treasures is to know him as my friend. Hallelujah. Let's exalt the name of Jesus and see what happens. Let's just do that. When we get together as believers, let's exalt the name of Jesus. And then what?
SPEAKER_01:And then let's exalt the name of Jesus. You mean just that?
SPEAKER_00:Yes. Just that. Getting together just to exalt the name of Jesus and see what happens. Let's pray. Father, I ask by your spirit that there would be something of a groundswell concerning exalting the name of Jesus again. That we would see in our fellowships the exaltation of the Lord Jesus, that you remove from us those things that occupy our attention, that don't deliver us from evil. But you have said that when your name and you, Jesus, when you are lifted up, you will draw all men unto you. And so we look to exalt the name of Jesus, Father, and teach us how to do that more and more and more in our collective gatherings and in our quiet private times with you, that we would exalt your name. Father, I love you.
