What if your everyday words are building the world you live in? We dive into the heart as the wellspring of life and trace how thoughts turn into speech that shapes relationships, atmosphere, and even our sense of calling. Starting with the cross, we name the sarx—the fallen nature—crucified with Christ, and we explore what it means to live as new creations who carry the life of Jesus within. From there, we get practical about language: not policing syllables, but yielding our mouths to the Holy Spirit so that what we say aligns with what the Father is saying.
We press into the mystery of glory and relationship. The Father conceives, the Son speaks, the Spirit brings to pass—and that divine pattern becomes a template for how we create with God. We talk about unity forged by presence rather than debate, the intensifying revelation that illuminates what has been hidden, and the way God’s Kingdom grows like seed—quietly, steadily, even while we sleep. Along the way we confront idle talk, self-sabotaging phrases, and the small narratives we reinforce without thinking. In their place, we practice speech rooted in identity: we have the mind of Christ, equal in value though different in function, called to carry righteousness, peace, and joy.
This conversation is both devotional and catalytic. Expect Scripture, honest self-audit, and a call to upgrade your inner dialogue and outer voice. If life and death sit in the power of the tongue, then our daily words are a sacred trust. Join us as we ask the Spirit to cleanse imagination and language, teach us to say what the Father is saying, and prepare us to serve as signs and wonders—people whose lives and words glow with the light of Christ. If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a review to help more listeners find the show.

All throughout scriptures, we read about and we find that it's important for us as people to guard our hearts, our deepest, innermost part of who we are. We're really supposed to keep an eye on that. Because we had discovered that it's out of our heart. Our heart is a wellspring, and it's out of our heart that precedes things that we think about, that we consider either doing or having done to us. The heart is the wellspring of life. And also, man, the power of life and death is found in our tongue. The fact that what we say matters. I mean, it matters what we think, because our thoughts, even our thoughts, project wavelengths, they project vibrations, they project signals of either light or the absence of light, a lower form of communication, a more base nature. Actually, the scriptures refers to it as our SARCS, S-A-R-X. It's that base fallen nature that tends toward things that are harmful, not only to ourselves physically, but to our relationships. They break things down relationally between us and God and us and each other because of the things that we think and say, due to communication that comes from that fallen or base nature. And it's interesting, that base nature, that sarks, that's the very thing that Jesus went to the cross to crucify. He took upon himself the sins, the sarks of the world, and it was nailed to the cross and crucified with him, so that it is no longer us who live, but Christ who lives in us by faith that we place in him. That faith activates or puts into motion the things that only the Holy Spirit can do, and that is to produce within us newness of life. The fact that we are new creations by placing our trust in Jesus concerning the things that he accomplished on the cross, in essence, he was crucified on our behalf. And because of that, we no longer are conditioned or we're no longer bound to live out that lower base nature because a new nature has been imparted to us. That's a powerful word. Imparted to us just as if, and made us just as if we had never sinned. We're justified. And now we're in the process of being made perfect. That's called sanctification. We are already perfect in Christ, and that is our destination. And we are here right now living out our salvation, even though sometimes it's in our fear and trembling that things are being worked out. But nonetheless, they are being worked out on our behalf by the Spirit of God who now lives within us. Because it's not us who live only, but Christ who lives in us. And our old nature has been crucified with him, and daily we need to remind ourselves and sometimes remind the powers of darkness that that old man is dead, man. It's dead. Temptation is that which tries to get us to participate once again in that old way of doing things. But we're no longer bound to do that when we place our faith in Jesus because that breaks the curse. That breaks it. And we're now, we're now free to walk like Jesus. We have his life in us. And so his life is the life that leads us not to sin, not to do that stupid stuff anymore. We're free from having to do that, but also we're free from having to say that stuff. Because that's actually the words that come out of our mouth have a creative force to them. And that creative force, that creative force is either creative in the realm of the kingdom of God or in the realm of the kingdom of darkness. Life or death is in the power of the tongue. It's a creative force. It's more than just noise. Our words are more than just noise. They are containers. They're like paint brushes that paint the world that we live in. It comes from the things that we say. This world was brought into existence from it being conceived and thought, spoken out loud, and then brought to pass by the Spirit of God. The Father conceived it, Jesus spoke it, the Word, and the Spirit brought it about, made it happen. That same type of thing is available for us today who walk in relationship. There's a key word right there, in relationship with Jesus, who then brings us into right relationship with our Heavenly Father. He's always wanted that, but there was something that prohibited us from experiencing that. And that was our own sin. And once that was removed, we can now have right relationship with God and His glory. His glory can once again clothe us. Hallelujah. There's coming a day when the glory of God that is within us will rise up and it will meet the glory of God that's coming upon us and that surrounds us, and we are going to be revealed. Just like Jesus was revealed at the Mount of Transfiguration. There are going to be times where people around the nations, in the days that we're living in, are going to be revealed for the purpose of being a witness. A sign and a wonder. One of the signs and wonders is going to be the literal light of life. Will shine from within us and come upon us and be around us. Because God is going to glorify Himself. And He's going to have a people that walk in a way that's going to be a sign and a wonder. Where on a street corner, one day, you'll see someone glowing, not because of a hologram, but because of the glory of God. And the things that we are going to be able to say from within that glory are going to be some of the mysteries of God, man, revealed. Because it's the glory of God to conceal a matter. But it's a king's purpose to find it out. And God's mysteries are hidden in his glory. So we find the answers in his glory, because it's in his glory that revelation gives light to things that once we couldn't see. They've been there all the time, but it takes revelation to see them, and it's found in the glory of God. And also, his glory is going to be a uniting force within the body of Christ. It's not going to be by virtue of our doctrinal expertise and our ability to parse verbs correctly in the Greek or Hebrew, but it's going to be because of our relationship with God, with one another as people who have faith in Christ, but also it's going to be by virtue primarily of the presence of God. The presence of God is the uniting force by which we are going to experience more unity in the body of Christ than we have ever been able to experience previously. Because God is going to intensify the measure of his glory being revealed on planet earth in the days that we're living in, and it's going to continue to increase and increase and increase until he has accomplished what he wants to accomplish in the unfolding of his plans and his purposes. We are living in a very important time in world history. I mean, every generation could say that, but this is being said with an exclamation point. Those of us who are alive on planet Earth right now are living in a time that is more defined by prophecy than any other time previous, other than the birth of Jesus. That's powerful, man. And the fact that we get to participate in that, and one of the key ways that we get to participate in it is by the things that come out of our mouths. How we speak to each other, how we speak to the world around us, how we speak to God. If it's based out of relationship and right relationship, righteous, it has that peace, that shalom, that quality of no need at all. There is no need, that shalom, that rest that comes from there being no needs whatsoever. And the joy that ensues with all of your needs met. Everything. And they're at peace. And then you can hear things that you couldn't hear before. You can see things that you couldn't see before in the kingdom of God. Because that is the kingdom of God. Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. But what comes out of our mouth? That's what we're really emphasizing in this particular podcast episode. What comes out of our mouth matters. The power of life and death matters. And it's not being paranoid about what we say, it's just being submitted, yielded over to Holy Spirit, so that we can be like Jesus, where we say, I only do what I see the Father doing and say what I hear the Father saying. Walking that way in relationship with our Heavenly Father. A man. Something's happening on a level that hasn't happened before. And there's communication coming from so many different sources that are providing this same or similar type of emphasis that we're conveying here at Life on the Fire. And that is that the level of the movement, the demonstration of God that we're in right now is increasing. It's gone from ankle deep to knee deep to now waist high, man. And it's affecting all of our lives, whether we know it or not. You see, the kingdom of God advances even while we're sleeping. It grows. Jesus gave a parable concerning that, where a farmer plants his seed and he goes about his daily routine. And you know, he goes to bed, he wakes up, and all the time this seed is growing, and he really doesn't know exactly how that's happening, but it's happening. Same goes for the kingdom of God. It's at work. Sometimes we don't even know if it is or how it is, but it is. And God's kingdom is his rule and his reign. It is his good pleasure. It's what comes from God. Whatever comes from God is his kingdom. Just like whatever comes from the king, that makes up his kingdom. That's the culture of his kingdom, is what's found in the heart of the king. Same goes for the kingdom of God. What's found in the heart of God makes up the culture of God's kingdom. And those are his ways, and that is what we are learning right now as people who are following in the footsteps of Jesus by the Holy Spirit. We are learning to function in the ways of God, in the culture of God, so we can participate in his kingdom on all levels, because his kingdom is so chock full of things that we have yet to experience, that it's going to take eternity for us to continue to grow and develop into more and more awareness of who God really is. We're going to continue to be astounded as to who he is eternally. Just like the angels flying around, the the cherubim and the seraphim, extolling the greatness of God, saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. Heaven and earth are filled with his glory. And then they come around him again and they say the same thing. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. Heaven and earth are filled with his glory. They say that because they see something new each time they come around the Lord, God Almighty, who sits on the throne, and they see him and they say, unbelievable, believable, beautiful. I mean, they're almost at a loss, but the only word that can come out of their mouth is holy, because that's who God is. There's no one like God. He's holy, original. And he called us to be that, and he called us to participate in the same type of things that he's doing, and part of it is through the things that we say.
SPEAKER_01:We create the world that we live in by what comes out of our mouth.
SPEAKER_00:And if we listen to ourselves, catch ourselves talking, we just might be amazed at the stuff that comes out of our mouths that we just off-handedly say. And again, this is an encouragement to just invite Holy Spirit to enlighten you as to how to go about expressing your thoughts and actually even purging your thoughts and our imagination. We are created, designed to have an active imagination. It's not to be poo-pooed and looked at as something that is secondary. Our imagination is an important tool for God to use in our lives. He paints pictures on our imagination, and we have internal visions. We can be entranced by His word so that we stop what we're doing and we just focus like one who's transfixed on duty, just can't look away. That happens when God moves upon us to see things differently. He enlightens us. Hallelujah. And we are able to declare things. We realize that there's a lot of idle talk that's been coming out of my mouth. I've realized it. I've realized that there are negative things that come out of my mouth. I just say off-handily, like, oh man, that was stupid. Yeah? That little comment like that. Well, that was dumb. Man, I create that atmosphere when I say that. I at least reinforce it, if not create it. I drive that thing inside me, like, oh man, I am kind of dumb. Well, in all reality, I'm not dumb. I have the mind of Christ. I am alive and very intelligent.
SPEAKER_01:So are you. We all are. In different ways. And that's why we need each other.
SPEAKER_00:We are equal in value, but we differ in function. Equal in value, yet differ in function. But the power that we all have is in the things that we convey. You say, Well, I can't speak out loud. Well, you can sign language, you can vibrate, you can, you can, you can express things with your thoughts, you can you can you can express them emotionally.
SPEAKER_01:You can send signals by virtue of the things that you emote, things that you sign, hallelujah, things that you draw, things you paint, things that you create that are artisan, artifacts, beautiful things, poetry, the list goes on.
SPEAKER_00:We have the ability to communicate things, and they are creative either for life or death. But there's power, wonderful working power in the blood of the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Gives us the opportunity to have a clean conscience, a clean imagination, and clean, a clean tongue. Clean communication. Righteous.
SPEAKER_01:To be righteous, to be peaceful, to be joyful, to be in the Holy Spirit. Wonderful. We're living in those days. And the best is yet to come.
SPEAKER_00:Let's pray. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_01:Glory to God in the highest. And peace on earth to all men. Father, your grace and your peace.
SPEAKER_00:They go beyond our understanding, but they keep our hearts and minds centered in on Christ. And so we welcome, Holy Spirit, the grace and the peace that you provide.
SPEAKER_01:And we have to cooperate with you as you do things across the nations. We offer ourselves to you to be people that speak and think things that are righteous, things that are peaceful, things that are joyful, things that are encouraging, things that are full of life.
SPEAKER_00:Show us that you've already crucified those dead things, that they could be crucified today, that we are crucified with you, and we die daily. Hallelujah. I'm dead to that thing that once was ruled by. And now you are Lord. Hallelujah. We honor you, and we invite you to empower us to do the things that you've called us to both be and do, to see and say, to live out, in the mighty, powerful name of Jesus. We stand here and we say, Father, Amen. It's going to be done. Amen. In the name of Jesus, amen. Hallelujah. Amen. Alright, folks, we love you.
