Life Around "The Fire"
This podcast is dedicated to those wanting to experience a living and real relationship with God as well as growing together in love for one another. We consider that to be a true sign of spiritual growth as we journey along The Way. If this is you then come along with us as we co-operate with God in what He is doing around the corner and around the world!

Unity can sound abstract until you see what it does under pressure. We dig into why Spirit-led unity is one of the most countercultural signs of real Christianity and how it can literally change the atmosphere around us. When God’s internal strength meets the world’s external pressure, something shifts: peace rises, joy steadies, and people can finally see what life with Jesus looks like in the flesh and blood of everyday relationships.
We walk through Paul’s closing words in Philippians 4, where he calls two women in conflict to live in harmony. That moment opens a bigger conversation about how small relational fractures can spread if we ignore them. We connect it to the “little foxes that spoil the vine” and a vivid microchip lab illustration: one tiny contaminant can ruin an entire batch. In community, small offenses, quiet bitterness, or casual criticism can work the same way unless we address the roots early and let God’s presence cleanse what doesn’t belong.
Then we bring it home to the inner life. We talk about forbearance, learning to think kindly about others and ourselves, and why negative self-talk is not harmless. We end with a practical path from anxiety to prayer, thanksgiving, and the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds, helping us fix our eyes on Jesus and stay focused. If this encouraged you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review, then reply with the “little fox” you’re ready to deal with this week.

Folks, there's something that is so countercultural to the world that we live in today, when the body of Christ, now get this, when the body of Christ is united in the way that Jesus prayed that we would be united, that we would be one as He and the Father are one, just that same way. That type of unity. That wonderful
Unity That Proves Jesus
SPEAKER_01type of unity, the reality of unity that's brought about by the power of the Holy Spirit. When things are in right order, when things are peaceful, and when things have an undercurrent of joy that's given by the Holy Spirit, man, when we as the body of Christ function in that unity, the world will know that we represent Jesus Christ. They will be able to come into a place of seeing what relationship with Christ actually looks like. And when a group of people, when a group of people exhibited, it takes on a culture that is greater than the culture that we live in. It's amazing when the internal strength that is provided to us by God meets the external pressure of the world. The internal strength that God provides to us by his life in us is greater than external pressure, and it changes the atmosphere that we encounter. The external pressure gives way to the internal force of the kingdom of God, and we become atmosphere changers, peace makers, atmosphere changers. We begin to see a demonstration of the kingdom of God in our midst, because the kingdom of God functions in the midst of unity. Hallelujah. There's a passage in the New Testament found in the book of Philippians, and it's toward the end of the letter that Paul wrote to this group of people of Philippi, and in concluding the letter, in chapter four, he writes, Therefore, my beloved brethren, whom I long to see, my joy, my crown, so stand firm in the
Philippians Call To Harmony
SPEAKER_01Lord, he's telling them, stand firm in the Lord. I urge Eodia and Cynthia to live in harmony in the Lord. Let's just pause right there for a moment. These two women, Iodia and Syntiche, were members of that particular church in Philippi, and something had taken place in their relationship that caused there to be some rift and problems developed. And the Apostle Paul said, You need to take care of that. Because there's a statement that Solomon makes in a very interesting poem that he wrote, a screenplay actually, called The Song of Songs. And in the second chapter in the Song of Songs, he goes, Let's find the little foxes. Let's catch them. The little foxes that spoil the vine. And it's a picture of a
Little Foxes That Ruin Roots
SPEAKER_01little fox that actually goes to the root system of the vine and nibbles the root system and it destroys the vine. It doesn't come just nip at the fruit, it goes to the root. And the little foxes, the little things in life that we ignore oftentimes produce problems that are much bigger because they go to places that we're not expecting them to go to. The root. But when a little fox nibbles the root, it destroys the branch. It destroys the vine. Little things can be very problematic. I had a friend of mine who was a computer whiz, and in fact, part of his whole development was helping them develop the various microchips that they would place inside of these Intel brains that would function inside of these computers. And my friend Chris brought me one day to the lab that
The Microchip Lab Virus Lesson
SPEAKER_01he worked, and in order for me to go into the place in which Chris worked, I had to go through three different layers of being cleaned up and prepared for literally being completely sanitized so that when I went into this room, I did not have even one little germ with me, one little thing with me, one little particle of dirt with me. Because that little particle getting inside of a computer chip could ruin the entire batch and ruin millions of dollars worth of research that had gone into that development. So a little virus, a little thing can actually ruin an entire batch of chips. The same thing goes when it comes to the kingdom of God. There are certain things that are not allowable in the kingdom of God. They're like a virus. They don't belong. And so God has ways of eradicating them, and the primary way is his presence. The presence of God eradicates those things that are problematic. And he does not allow for those viruses to be part of his kingdom. And so these women that had a problem, they had a little virus inside of them, so to speak, that was potentially going to ruin the whole fellowship. Because that stuff happens. A little problem between two people can boil over and become something that infects a whole group of people. And Paul said, I urge Iodia and Sintiche to live in harmony in the Lord. Indeed, to comment, it was indeed true, comrade. I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers whose names are in the book of life. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice. Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. I love that. Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. You know, in other words, we need to think
Choosing Forbearance Toward Others
SPEAKER_01kindly about other people. But also, we need to think kindly about ourselves. The things that we tell ourselves about ourselves, sometimes it's very negative. The other day, in fact, to illustrate the point, the other day I was going along doing something, and I bumped into the wall, and I inadvertently said, Ah, that was stupid.
SPEAKER_00I was saying it about myself. Ah, that was stupid.
SPEAKER_01And I've done that, I can't tell you how many times, and
Stop Speaking Negativity Over Yourself
SPEAKER_01I've never really had a corrector's word spoken to me, but the time had come now in my life. The time had come now in my life that that was no longer tolerable. In fact, the Lord said to me very clearly, he was David, I have not given you permission to speak that way about yourself. In fact, I've not given you permission to speak that way about anyone.
SPEAKER_00I want you to begin to look at other people differently, yourself included. Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men.
SPEAKER_01The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which passes all comprehension, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
SPEAKER_00Powerful.
SPEAKER_01The peace of God will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. What we center
Prayer That Replaces Anxiety With Peace
SPEAKER_01our thoughts on matters because what we behold, we become like. And so to have our eyes fixed on Jesus, well a powerful thing to have the ability to focus for an extended period of time on someone other than yourself, or the negative things that you see other people doing. But to focus
Focus On Jesus And Stay Centered
SPEAKER_01in on the perfect one, the Lord God Almighty, to focus in on him and to have his peace, his internal strength, his internal calm, his internal way of seeing things where everything's in right order, that peace gives us the ability to focus. Because without it, we are scattered all over the place. Our thoughts go here, our thoughts go there. We have a hard time focusing on anything for any length of time at all. But the peace of God allows us to focus.
SPEAKER_00And it allows us to focus on Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_01And so, folks, around here, we're trying our best these days to lift high the name of Jesus, but also to pray for the unity of the Spirit of God in the bond of peace. That we as a people become one as Jesus prayed for us to be one. And we're living in those days right now in which the presence of God is creating an environment for that to take place on a greater level. And I'm seeing it happen in my life and I'm hearing others from different parts of the world share the same type of thing. And so I'm very encouraged, and I want to encourage you that if you're seeing in
A Push For Spirit-Given Unity
SPEAKER_01your life this real desire to let go of the negative things concerning yourself and of others, that's more than likely the work of the Spirit of God inside of you, creating within you the ability to be transformed from the inside out. So, folks, let's turn our eyes onto Jesus and look full in his wonderful face, so that the things of this earth can grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and the perfective of our faith, and that the peace of God that goes beyond all understanding would keep our hearts and minds focused in on Jesus. Hallelujah. Let's pray. Father, I thank you, God, once again, for who you are, for what you're doing, how you're doing it, where you're doing your work. And we ask now by your Spirit that your kingdom would come and that your will be done in our lives as it is in heaven. And we thank you for providing all these things and giving us the ability to be
