A unique shift took place in my personal spiritual life just recently, in that I found myself one day looking at things from the bottom-up perspective. Meaning I was looking up at my problems and I was doing them from the bottom up. And my problems looked
Bottom-Up Fear vs Higher View
SPEAKER_01much bigger. Some financial things had come my way, and it looked like I was gonna be in a real negative situation unless something took place. And I'll tell you what, man, I did not have the sense inside of me that I was feeling anything. But when you're a leader, feelings are a fringe benefit. Sometimes when you're a leader, feelings are a fringe benefit, and we can't go by our feelings first. Feelings are important, feelings are very important, and I'm going to share a way that recently has come into focus for me again, but even stronger, and it's the result of this shift that took place personally, and the sense that I was finding myself instead of looking from the bottom up at the problem, I was looking from the top down. I was on top of the problem. Different perspective, different scope, a different perspective, a different way of looking at things. And when you're looking at things from the top down, they look a lot different than looking at them from the bottom up. I realized that the problems that I had looked very small in comparison to this great space that I was in. And I couldn't really even identify the speck of the problem because the space that I was in was so great and it was higher than the problem. And I was able to speak into the situation because the word of the Lord came to me. I mean, he spoke to my heart very clearly. And he revealed to me that he was bringing these things into perspective because he wants me to speak into them. He wants me to declare things, but not just random things that come to my mind. He wants me to declare what comes out of his heart.
Hearing God And Speaking Provision
SPEAKER_01Jesus said that he only did and only said what he saw the Father do and say. He did nothing on his own accord. He did everything in dependence upon the Father because he was modeling what that was like for us to have total dependency upon our Heavenly Father. And when I looked at the problem from the bottom up, as I said before, it looked huge. When I was looking at it from the top down, it was very small in comparison to that vast space which symbolized God. And I spoke concerning the provision, and I commanded that provision to come into our hands and not be delayed. I will have you know that it was the very next day, without me soliciting anything from anybody, the very next day, there was a check amount that was dropped into our bank account that completely met every need that was there, and then some.
SPEAKER_00Because God is supreme.
SPEAKER_01The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Fat, and God the Holy Spirit make up the mysterious one and three and three and one. God Almighty, God most high, and there is nothing that is equal to God.
Why Problems Feel So Big
SPEAKER_00He has no equal opposite.
SPEAKER_01And so the problems, problems are only big when they get too close to us. You could take a penny and put it in front of your eye, and if you get it too close, it can block out the sun light. A penny. They get too close. And God wants to show us ways in which we can move above that. And one of the ways that's come to play for me again is this wonderful expression of tongues. And when I'm referring to tongues, I'm referring to both the Glosaleleia and the Zenoleleia. The Glosaleleia is speaking in an unknown tongue. The Zenoleleia is speaking in a
Tongues Defined And Practiced
SPEAKER_01tongue that is understandable. It's one of the tongues from the nations, and it is spoken in a way in which the hearer hears it in their own language, and the person speaking it hears it in their own language. It's a unique thing, it's a unique gift that takes place, and it's different. But those two components of tongues, in brief, make up this exercise or this practice, this lifestyle of praying in tongues out loud. And recently, as I said, I was taken to this place where a shift spiritually happened, and I began to speak in tongues, and I kept speaking, and I kept speaking, and I kept praying and speaking until an hour went by, and I was still praying and talking in tongues, declaring things that I didn't have what was going on was something very significant. And what I saw going on, I'm gonna list for you because hopefully it is an inspiration for you to open yourself up to pray in tongues. Like the Apostle Paul said, he says, I I wish that you could all pray in tongues as much as me.

SPEAKER_01Spirit, and the scriptures list out some of these benefits, but sometimes it's nice to know that they are literally experientially real today. And the first spiritual benefit that comes from praying in tongues for an extended period of time is self-edification. Mentioned in 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 4, it builds the believer's inner life. It's comparable to charging a battery.
SPEAKER_00It's a way that we get built up in our inner man. Self-edification.
SPEAKER_01Deepened intimacy with God is another thing that I've experienced as a result of praying in tongues to the Lord out loud. Deepened intimacy with God. It's viewed as direct spirit to spirit communication, bypassing the intellect to speak divine mysteries.
SPEAKER_00That's what's going on when we express ourselves with the glossololeia.
SPEAKER_01Spirit to spirit communication, bypassing the intellect to speak divine mysteries. Next, I notice that there was an increased spiritual sensitivity. Long durations in prayer enhance the ability to hear the Holy Spirit's voice and understand biblical revelations. I'm going to say that again.
SPEAKER_00Excuse me, increased spiritual sensitivity.
SPEAKER_01Our prayers are enhanced, and the ability to hear the Holy Spirit's voice and understand biblical revelations is also enhanced. Powerful. Spiritual warfare. Praying in tongues acts as a powerful tool in spiritual warfare, helping believers resist temptation and gain victory over obstacles.
SPEAKER_00It also produces calmness and stress reduction.
SPEAKER_01This is pretty cool, man. Scientific studies, including research from the University of Pennsylvania, show that during tongues, the brain's frontal lobes they decrease in activity, leading to a surrender of control that can produce intense feelings of peace and joy. The renewing of the mind. Consistently
Peace, Mind Renewal, And Healing Claims
SPEAKER_01praying in the spirit can shift negative subconscious programming, reducing anxiety and improving mental focus. And the last thing that I realized that I want to share is emotional release. Praying in tongues has led to a profound emotional breakthrough, releasing emotional pain that was in me and comforting my soul. I experienced as a result of that pain joy. I was experiencing the reality of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_00Physical benefits.
SPEAKER_01Rejuvenation and energy. Many believers report an invigoration of the spirit, soul, and body, comparing it to spiritual energization breakthrough that refuels them after exhaustion. Improved health and healing. It's often reported to strengthen the body, bolster the immune system through decreased stress, and in some cases facilitate physical healing. It comes as a result of praying in tongues. Deep rest, last but not least. Deep rest. Similar to meditation, this form of prayer can bring deep rest to the mind and body, acting as a restful alternative to sleep.
SPEAKER_00Amazing. But what I'm looking to share with you considering this aspect of praying in tongues, let's just say for over an hour. Out loud, praying in tongues to God, what takes place, there's a significant spiritual awareness that becomes more and more of a reality because the discernment level that a person operates in is heightened.
SPEAKER_01And I've been hearing more than a few people who have been sharing similar stories. And I'm talking about leaders, I'm talking about well-known leaders who are sharing similar stories about their just appetite, growing appetite to praying in tongues, sometimes two, three, four hours at a time. And the impact of that is changing
Western Skepticism And A Call To Try
SPEAKER_01things. I think that in the Western world, in Christianity, in the Western Hemisphere, because of the heavy overemphasis on science, we have missed out on some of the spiritual benefits of things that science can't speak into.
SPEAKER_00And some things are discerned spiritually, and it can't be formulated and put under a microscope and scientifically proven.
SPEAKER_01But when you look at the quality of life, when you study the quality of life of individuals who have expressed their involvement in speaking in tongues, the quality of life that the majority of these individuals are living is a life of beauty and holiness, of righteousness, of peace, of joy. There is a deep calm, as well as an authority that people walk in as a result of being in communion with the Spirit of God on that level. And so, folks, I'm encouraging you that if you're experiencing that, go with it, man.
SPEAKER_00Go with it, don't fight it. And if you're theological background hasn't allowed for you to speak in tongues because it was told to you that those things ceased and they're no longer relevant.
SPEAKER_01But you have something going on inside of you that is contrary to that, and it's the Spirit of God wanting you to express yourself in ways that go far beyond what you've been able to express in English or whatever other language you're using, and it just opens a whole new realm up.
