The world feels louder than it used to, and not in a good way. When you’re surrounded by pressure, cruelty, and nonstop noise, it’s easy to get numb, cynical, or simply tired. We start there, naming the reality of spiritual darkness while also holding onto a bigger claim: God’s Spirit is moving like a rising wave, and we’re meant to meet this moment equipped, not overwhelmed.
From that foundation, we get practical about spiritual warfare and the tools God gives believers. The focus is one weapon that’s often misunderstood or treated like a checkbox: praying in tongues, also called praying in the Spirit. We break down the difference between glossolalia (a devotional prayer language) and xenoglossia (speaking a real language you never learned), then ask the question people rarely say out loud: what does God get out of it? We talk about Spirit-to-Spirit intimacy, “perfect intercession” shaped by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26-27), and the beauty of surrender when you yield your voice to God in focused worship.
We also lay out the real-life effects many believers experience when they practice extended prayer in tongues: spiritual edification (1 Corinthians 14:4), sharper sensitivity to God’s leading, stronger resistance against discouragement, and a deep sense of peace and rest. If you’ve been craving mental clarity, emotional release, or a way to carry shalom into your home and relationships, this conversation offers a clear path and a bold challenge: one hour a day for 30 days, with your attention fixed on Jesus.
If this helps you, subscribe, share it with a friend who feels worn down, and leave a review so more people can find it. What would you want to change most through a deeper prayer life?

Why The Times Feel Intense
SPEAKER_01You know, it's been quite some time since we stopped being coy around here and really looking to get right to the heart of the matter as soon as we possibly can because we're really living in some very unique times, and the scripture encourages us to really make the most of the days, the most of the time, because the days are evil. There is a lot of very unhealthy things taking place, beginning from children being mistreated all the way through to the elderly being mistreated, the people that are helpless being used and abused, and that's just a sliver of some of the evil that's going on on planet earth right now, and it's rampant. But also, also, there is a mighty tsunami of God's spirit, of his kingdom, of his power, of his glory. Excuse me. There's a mighty, mighty tsunami of it coming our way. And we're seeing some of the early stages of that movement right now. And when the enemy comes in,
Spiritual Warfare And Kingdom Authority
SPEAKER_01the Lord lies up like a flood and lays up a banner against him. Because God has no equal opposites. He reigns supreme, and in the end, when he administers his judgments, his decisions concerning the affairs of earth, and its need to account for what we as citizens on this planet have done.
SPEAKER_00The end will come after that.
SPEAKER_01But in the meantime, we're in some very significant battles, and one of the things that we need to really understand is that God has given us spiritual weapons for spiritual warfare. And the weapons that are our warfare, they're not carnal, but they are mighty. We don't fight against flesh and blood. Our battle is against spirits, against principalities, against powers in high places. But we rule and reign with Christ, and we do that from the highest place. We have been called to make decisions and declarations with us being seated with Christ in heavenly places, and we have the opportunity of doing that now in part. Because when Jesus comes in his fullness, meaning when he comes physically back on earth, he's going to establish his rule and his reign sovereignly and completely. He will be the leader in a theocracy, a kingdom. But leading up to that, we have the opportunity of enforcing his kingdom and declaring it to be active and open. On the face of the earth right now, Jesus came and made the kingdom open to us, even though it is apprehended by violence, and the violence, violent ones taken by force, meaning the ones who are really bent on God's kingdom being their prize, regardless of what it's gonna it's gonna take, they're gonna have it. Well, here we are in a time right now when those weapons need to be brought back out and seen, appreciated, and applied to our lives. And one of the weapons, one of the weapons is prayer, right? But not just any type of praying, praying in the spirit and declaring things in the spirit, and that comes oftentimes through exercising tongues. The tongues that God gives us to intercede, and the tongues that he gives us to make declarations in a language
Tongues As A Spiritual Weapon
SPEAKER_01that we've not studied, but it is an identifiable language and is being given to those who are being given the gospel. Because the Lord wants us to have relationship with him, and he wants each one of us to hear it clearly, to hear it plainly, to understand what it is that he is saying to us so we can have relationship with him and grow out from that dead place of sin and death, and we can become literally the active children of God because of the life of God in us. And part of the life of God in us is expressed in tongues. And we've talked about that briefly in a previous podcast episode, but we're looking back around because it's an important component in our lives. And in theological and in linguistic discussions regarding speaking in tongues, the phenomena is often categorized in two distinct forms Glosolia, which is unintelligible prayer
Glossolalia And Xenoglossia Explained
SPEAKER_01language, and xenoglacia, which is supernatural speaking of a known learned foreign human language. Glossolia or Xenaglosia. It refers it refers to fluid, vocalized, ecstatic speech like utterances that do not correspond to any human language typically used for private or corporate devotional worship. Xenoglasia also derives from Greek roots meaning foreign and tongue. It describes the purported or miraculous capacity to speak an actual recognizable foreign human language that the speaker has never studied or acquired naturally. That's very impacting when we apply tongues on a regular basis because it's not a one and done thing. Once you've spoken in tongues, that's it. You can say, I checked that one off my list. I've spoken in tongues. Actually, speaking in tongues, we're going to review the benefits that that really has for us as people, but the question begs to be asked, what what cookies does God have in any of this? I mean, what's to what benefit is this to God? If my life is to be one devoted to worshiping God, how do tongues come into play? And what effect do tongues, what effect does it have to God when I speak to him in tongues? And again, I speak and pray in tongues hours, plural, hours out of the day. It's part of my calling. But really, I then want to know what what does God get out of this? And number one thing God gets out of all of this, tongues talk. God receives communication that bypasses human intellectual limitation. As your spirit speaks straight to his spirit in unadultered fellowship, he receives that from you. He also receives perfect intercession.
What God Receives When We Pray
SPEAKER_01He receives prayers that are completely untainted by human doubt, selfishness, or mistaken motives because the Holy Spirit directs the content. You find that in Romans chapter eight, verses twenty-six to twenty-seven. And direct intimacy of God you can find in First Corinthians chapter fourteen, verse two. So we have direct intimacy, direct intimacy. That's just that just sounds good. Direct intimacy, like just pure intimacy, no distractions, just pure view when we're praying in tongues and focusing on Jesus. Praying in tongues and focusing on Jesus. Praying in tongues and focusing on your relationship with your Heavenly Father. Praying in tongues to God. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_00Direct intimacy, perfect intercession. And last but not least, delight in surrender.
SPEAKER_01Well, what do we mean by delight in surrender? God honors the humility and devotion of a believer who sets aside a full hour just to yield their physical voice entirely to his Holy Spirit. Right? That's that's that's part of the challenge that I have for you listening. If you would pray or speak in tongues to God, focusing in on Jesus for an hour. What takes place is so significant that you will not go back to praying the old way. Guaranteed. What are the effects again that these praying in tongues has on us? Spiritual edification. Scripture notes that speaking in tongues builds up and charges your inner spiritual man like a battery being charged. First Corinthians chapter fourteen verse four.
SPEAKER_00Also, heightened sensitivity.
SPEAKER_01An hour
How Tongues Builds Inner Strength
SPEAKER_01in the spirit helps quiet worldly distractions, sharpening your spiritual awareness and receptivity to divine wisdom. Heightened sensitivity. We can all use heightened sensitivity in discerning the voice of God or the whispers of God or the glance that God gives us. Spiritual warfare, which we talked about that to begin with. Spiritual warfare. Believers view extended praying in the spirit as an effective weapon of spiritual pushback against unseen pressure and discouragements. Now, looking at just some of the basic effects that praying in tongues has on our lives physically, mentally emotionally. Many believers experience a profound
Mental And Physical Effects Of Prayer
SPEAKER_01sense of emotional unloading, exchanging anxiety and stress for the peace that surpasses all understanding. Rest and refreshing. Extended time in this devotional language brings an inner quietness and an emotional stabilization to the soul. There are the other mental effects cognitive surrender. Brain scans studies that glossalaya show a temporary down regulation in the frontal lobes associated with active analytical control, letting the analytical mind rest while the deeper self connects with God. Cognitive surrender. That's not just being empty headed, that's emptying yourself out so God can fill you up. And the focus is important. The focus is on Jesus. Mental clarity. Releasing the need to constantly formulate words or figure out life's problems analytically can clear mental fatigue, leaving you refreshed afterward. Mental clarity, releasing the need to constantly formulate words. That's I mean that's so key. That's the area in podcasting that's the most challenging for me is to see words formulated in the English language that express the truth that God has revealed to me. Sometimes it's a challenge. And when I pray in tongues, my cognitive mind isn't thinking about what I'm going to say next. My spirit is expressing things to God, spirit to spirit. Physical effects and benefits reduces stress responses by calming brainwave activity and lowering perceived anxiety. An hour of focused devotional prayer helps reduce stress-related tension in the body. And last but not least, relaxation and rest. Believers frequently link the quiet euphoria and spiritual rest of extended prayer with overall physical relaxation and a restorative body state. Relaxation and rest, it's called shalom. Shalom is so rich and deep it's best descriptive of a person and their presence, but a person's presence that emits this sense of calm as well as being satisfied completely because there are no needs. That feeling that comes when we have no needs. In fact, we are exuding from us peace. That's changing the atmosphere. We become atmosphere changers, peacemakers. Hallelujah. Because we're walking in something that is divine. And when we pray in tongues for an hour a day or more, when we do that, things start changing in our lives. And God is able to use that time that we give over to Him in ways that we won't see until we spend eternity with Him. And we realize just what has taken place as a result of us functioning in these gifts that God gives us. The Lord is doing something very significant across the nations, has been for years, and now we're in a time where it's increasing again. A wave of it is upon us, and it's going to continue to grow. And with that, we're going to see some other things taking place that are very negative on the planet. And we need to be equipped so we don't get depressed by the pressure of the negative
Becoming A Peace Filled Influencer
SPEAKER_01energies around us. But we have the ability to have the strength from within us be greater than the external pressures. And we're the ones who are the influencers. We change the atmosphere around us because of the life of God in us, but not contained just within us. It's to us and through us. Hallelujah. The power of God is not intended to stay within us. We are not the Dead Sea. We are a river flowing with God. And his hand is on us for purposes that are kingdom-related. And he's equipped us with things that are effective and powerful. And his word, that's sharper than any two-edged sword, is given to us, and as a result of that, we can see an overcoming and a deliverance from evil that the world has never seen before. And it frees us up to love one another so that the love of God can be demonstrated once again to us and through us to the world around us. So, my challenge to you is to offer yourself over to the Lord and to offer yourself to him to pray in tongues for at least an hour a day. Try that for 30 days and see what happens. Drop me a line after you do that. Drop us a line, and we would love to hear from you because man, we want to see these things applied and see what takes place as a result of them being applied to one's life,
The 30 Day One Hour Challenge
SPEAKER_01to your life. So here we are, ready to participate in divine things that God has in store for us. So let's do this right now. Let's pray. Hallelujah. Lord, we honor you. We lift your name up high. And ask that you would release by your spirit the wonderful expression of tongues, of glossaliah,
Guided Prayer And Activation
SPEAKER_01of xenoblasia. Your word being established within us, but being expressed through us. Uniquely. But the power of your spirit. And we do so in tongues, Lord, according to the great mysteries of God. Let your kingdom come and your will be done in earth as it is in heaven, Father. And I thank you for fulfilling these things in our lives as we stand here in the name of Jesus and we say, In Him, it's Amen, yes, and Amen. Amen. Hallelujah, folks. We love you.
