The Creative Frame - A Photography Podcast
A podcast for photographers looking for creative inspiration and a glance into other artist’s creative processes.
Are you feeling stuck right now with everything going on in the world? What would it mean for your photography to lean in, really lean in, to the idea of creating straight from the heart.
Creating for yourself not for the socials or for posting but creating work that resonates with you & makes your heart burst. How can we bring a little light into our lives right now through our art?
Each month I’ll be interviewing photographers about what’s inspiring their current projects, their dreams, and how they’ve found their voice as an artist along with how to stay inspired to pick up your camera. I hope you’ll join us for this adventure.

Mixing Timeless Photography with Creative Experimenting on Film
For today’s episode, I’m talking with Sara Johansen. Sara is a film family and lifestyle photographer located in Des Moines, Iowa. She loves taking pictures of her family and wants to give that same joy to others through timeless images. Here's a couple fun tidbits about her: She is a bit film obsessed. She believes the colors and tones that film photography produces has no comparison. It can produce the most timeless portrait and in the next instance she can experiment with it and produce an other worldly rainbow delight.
In this conversation, Sara shares about her love for Polaroids, why she loves film, some of her photography projects, and how she found her style as a photographer. I’m so excited to share this one so let’s jump in!
You can find all the information on her art and her workshops on her website or her Instagram.
