Are Ecumenical Dialogues Worth Continuing?

In this episode Richard Tutin muses on ecumenical dialogues. Though they are seen as an important part of the ecumenical movement he raises the question about their effectiveness. This includes how the agreements and statements that arise from dialogues are received by churches. Does the dialogue process need some revision or should we acknowledge its effectiveness and give it more credit than we do at present?
