WEBVTT 00:00:20.030 --> 00:00:21.513 Hello, habit Mechanics. 00:00:21.513 --> 00:00:22.676 It's Dr John Finn here. 00:00:22.676 --> 00:00:24.561 I hope you're having a great week so far. 00:00:24.561 --> 00:00:50.015 So this is the part two of how to become a human AI coach, and in part one you learned about where that role fits into the workplace, and I genuinely think that becoming a human ii coach is going to be the most important role in the workplace. 00:00:50.838 --> 00:01:04.576 It is the least automatable thing and it is central for helping people's brains to work well, and our brain power what we call our cognitive performance is our most valuable asset. 00:01:04.576 --> 00:01:17.811 You know, people get that towards the end of their life, where their cognitive performance naturally declines, but also people get these terrible diseases like dementia and alzheimer's and all this kind of stuff, and that really hits home. 00:01:17.811 --> 00:01:29.399 How, how important are our cognitions, our thoughts and the ability to control them In other words, our cognitive performance is. 00:01:29.399 --> 00:01:50.974 But they're also essential right now, wherever you are in your life, because they are the essence of what makes you a human being, but they are also the thing that drives your ability to add value in your own life and to add value to other people's lives, which is how we make money. 00:01:50.974 --> 00:02:00.536 Ultimately, we we exchange value for money, and money is essential for paying the mortgage, putting food on the table, etc. 00:02:00.536 --> 00:02:43.200 So I I see that the most vital skill humans can learn is, I think, right now already, but, and increasingly, um, almost every day in the world that we're living in, it is brain state management, and that means people are going to need other people to not just give them the knowledge about what brain state management is, but to help them to actually change their behaviour and habitualise better recharge states and better high charge management, etc. 00:02:43.200 --> 00:03:09.515 So take their brain state profile from wherever they are right now, on that continuum from having a cross-the-bare profile through to a sharpening-up-an-arrowhead profile, and that's what you learn about in Chapter 8 of Train your Brain for the AI Revolution, which is the human eye readiness, self brain state assessment. 00:03:10.537 --> 00:03:15.211 Wherever anyone's score is, they're going to need help in terms of getting a better score. 00:03:15.211 --> 00:04:03.395 That's why we have coaches, that's why we have experts and, in the context of our bigger thinking about helping people, which is what we're passionate about, we know that actually to help people properly, we want to, first and foremost, show them how to work on themselves so almost and show them how to work on themselves, so almost, refining what they learn from our books, from our tools, from our training as they apply it to themselves. 00:04:03.395 --> 00:04:10.078 And essentially, that's what the first the the first four steps of train your brain for the ai revolution do. 00:04:10.078 --> 00:04:14.816 They show you how to put this four-step system into practice for yourself. 00:04:14.816 --> 00:04:25.620 But then, like I said, most people will get it, will get understand what to do, but they won't be able to do it themselves. 00:04:25.620 --> 00:04:26.543 They will need support. 00:04:26.543 --> 00:04:32.781 And therefore, the question is well, what does a human AI coach actually do? 00:04:32.781 --> 00:04:46.271 Well, they do the same thing that we map out in the four steps of train your brain for the AI revolution, but they help others to put that into practice. 00:04:46.271 --> 00:04:52.958 And, of course, to help others put into practice, you've you've got to be working on yourself first and foremost, but that's all that it is. 00:04:52.958 --> 00:04:56.852 So it's taking those first four steps and it's putting it into practice to help others. 00:04:57.412 --> 00:05:12.711 Now, of course, when we train our coaches to become certified habit mechanic AI edge coaches, then we also go deeper than train your brain for the AI revolution. 00:05:12.711 --> 00:05:16.742 We've got loads of other tools that we train our coaches on, but the premise is the same. 00:05:16.742 --> 00:05:26.096 We're taking people through this journey of measuring their brain states, doing that intelligent self-watching, then starting to target. 00:05:26.096 --> 00:05:29.872 What are the most important things for them to be working on? 00:05:29.872 --> 00:05:33.242 And that's the sort of task director work. 00:05:33.242 --> 00:05:40.155 Then giving people that container so they can manage every 24-hour period better. 00:05:40.155 --> 00:05:41.299 That's the willpower story. 00:05:41.299 --> 00:05:46.302 And then helping people to activate the habit building plan. 00:05:46.302 --> 00:05:58.884 And there are then other tools we can start to layer on top of that and we can take that same approach not just for the individuals, but also for teams and also for businesses. 00:05:58.884 --> 00:06:14.838 And it's so, so key to recognize actually what you are, if you want to become a human AI coach, is you are a cognitive performance coach, but that language might feel a little bit well. 00:06:14.838 --> 00:06:15.459 What does that mean? 00:06:15.459 --> 00:06:29.290 It just means cognition, just means thinking, and we want to help people to be high-performing thinkers so they can be healthy, happy and at their best. 00:06:29.290 --> 00:06:33.019 And our vehicle to help people to do that is brent step management. 00:06:33.019 --> 00:06:46.728 So what I'm gonna, what's gonna follow, is I'm gonna share with you um chapter 27 of Train your Brain for the AI Revolution. 00:06:46.728 --> 00:06:55.163 And remember, you can actually listen to the full version of Train your Brain for the AI Revolution inside of the Hammond Mechanic University app. 00:06:55.163 --> 00:07:17.435 It is also available on many audiobook platforms, the more and more each day as it gets, as the distribution just um well, as the distributors start to make the book available on their own platforms, but you can listen to it in the app for free. 00:07:17.435 --> 00:07:25.506 But this is chapter 27, so this builds on what we learned in the last podcast, where we focused on chapter 26. 00:07:25.506 --> 00:07:52.259 So, yeah, this is 27, and it just sort of shows you step-by-step, practically what human AI coaches do, and I just genuinely believe that human AI coaches will become the most important professionals in the workplace, because without our brains working well, nothing else is going to be good in our lives or our businesses. 00:07:52.259 --> 00:07:54.302 So this is the key. 00:07:54.302 --> 00:08:06.886 So, yeah, hope you enjoy it and look out for the next episode, which will be part three of this little mini-series, chapter 27,. 00:08:07.387 --> 00:08:10.391 Teaching Others to Thrive in the AI Era. 00:08:10.391 --> 00:08:18.805 Sarah watched her colleague James staring at his screen, surrounded by the same AI tools that had once overwhelmed her. 00:08:18.805 --> 00:08:27.824 An accomplished engineer, james had the potential to be a brilliant automator, but his fragmented brain states were holding him back. 00:08:27.824 --> 00:08:32.602 The frustration in his expression was all too familiar. 00:08:32.602 --> 00:08:33.664 She remembered. 00:08:33.664 --> 00:08:40.804 That's when I knew helping others optimise their brain states wasn't just an opportunity. 00:08:40.804 --> 00:08:51.394 It was becoming essential essential. 00:08:51.394 --> 00:08:53.117 This is where your journey expands beyond personal mastery. 00:08:53.117 --> 00:09:03.984 As organisations worldwide struggle to implement AI effectively, they're missing something crucial Experts who understand how to optimise human brain states for this new way of working. 00:09:03.984 --> 00:09:08.352 This isn't about teaching people to use AI tools. 00:09:08.352 --> 00:09:15.305 It's about helping them build the habits that make human AI collaboration natural and effective. 00:09:16.627 --> 00:09:30.496 The key to this method's success, sarah observed, was focusing on brain states and habits rather than technology, states and habits rather than technology. 00:09:30.496 --> 00:09:41.240 Instead of another AI training session, I could show people how to match their natural energy patterns to different types of work, optimize their focus and use AI tools strategically during different brain states. 00:09:41.240 --> 00:09:46.466 Three levels of impact that human AI coaches can make. 00:09:46.466 --> 00:09:49.690 First, individual optimisation. 00:09:49.690 --> 00:09:55.014 Second, team integration. 00:09:55.014 --> 00:09:56.736 Third, cultural transformation. 00:09:56.736 --> 00:09:58.540 Here's each area in more detail. 00:09:58.540 --> 00:10:17.668 First, individual optimisation Helping others identify their optimal brain states, guiding them to draft their first FAM story and willpower story, supporting them as they craft their first habit building plan. 00:10:17.668 --> 00:10:21.745 I started with simple things, sarah shared. 00:10:21.745 --> 00:10:34.245 When I helped James create his first willpower story, we focused on identifying his natural high-charge times, those morning hours when his thinking was clearest. 00:10:34.245 --> 00:10:46.510 Just matching his important work to these peak times and using AI to handle routine tasks during energy dips transformed his productivity. 00:10:48.256 --> 00:10:50.925 Second, team integration. 00:10:50.925 --> 00:10:55.965 Coordinating team brain states for optimal collaboration. 00:10:55.965 --> 00:11:00.826 Creating shared brain energy-aware meeting protocols. 00:11:00.826 --> 00:11:04.944 Building supportive environments for high-charge work. 00:11:04.944 --> 00:11:09.905 The power of team awareness became clear, sarah explained. 00:11:09.905 --> 00:11:17.466 Once everyone understood brain states, they naturally started coordinating their collective energy patterns. 00:11:17.466 --> 00:11:31.680 They'd schedule creative meetings during shared high-charge times, used AI to handle routine tasks during energy dips and planned coaching conversations when people had the right energy for deep thinking. 00:11:31.680 --> 00:11:42.010 Third, cultural transformation Embedding brain states into organisational strategy and decision making. 00:11:42.010 --> 00:11:49.007 Creating company-wide policies that support brain state energy optimization. 00:11:49.007 --> 00:11:55.087 Building brain state understanding into leadership development programs. 00:11:55.087 --> 00:12:00.766 The real transformation happened to our workplace culture, sarah explained. 00:12:00.766 --> 00:12:05.762 Leaders began making brain states part of our company DNA. 00:12:05.762 --> 00:12:25.755 They changed performance metrics to value energy management, invested in tools and training to support optimal brain states and recognized teams who consistently delivered high-impact work by matching tasks to their peak brain states. 00:12:25.755 --> 00:12:35.637 More importantly, they created an environment where people felt safe to optimize their own performance and support others in doing the same. 00:12:36.425 --> 00:12:44.818 Common challenges and solutions as Sarah helped more people optimise their brain states, she encountered several common challenges. 00:12:44.818 --> 00:12:49.395 Understanding these helps you support others more effectively. 00:12:49.395 --> 00:12:51.227 Challenge 1. 00:12:51.227 --> 00:12:53.615 The technology focus trap. 00:12:53.615 --> 00:12:58.756 People often fixate on AI tools rather than their brain states. 00:12:58.756 --> 00:13:04.557 The solution is to start with the human AI readiness brain state assessment. 00:13:04.557 --> 00:13:10.197 Once they see how their energy affects their work, ai's role becomes clearer. 00:13:10.197 --> 00:13:12.208 Challenge 2. 00:13:12.208 --> 00:13:14.495 The quick fix expectation. 00:13:14.495 --> 00:13:18.032 People want immediate results without building habits. 00:13:18.032 --> 00:13:26.169 The solution is to begin with tiny changes that show quick wins while building toward larger transformation. 00:13:26.169 --> 00:13:30.014 Challenge three the all-or-nothing mindset. 00:13:30.014 --> 00:13:34.520 People think they must master all AI tools immediately. 00:13:34.520 --> 00:13:44.227 The solution is to focus on optimising one brain state at a time, gradually introducing AI support your coaching framework. 00:13:44.909 --> 00:13:48.217 Let's explore the three key elements of effective coaching. 00:13:48.217 --> 00:13:49.668 Element 1. 00:13:49.668 --> 00:13:51.935 Build trust and understanding. 00:13:51.935 --> 00:13:55.414 Help map individual brain state patterns. 00:13:55.414 --> 00:13:58.191 Listen and show genuine care. 00:13:58.191 --> 00:14:01.813 Understand current AI challenges. 00:14:01.813 --> 00:14:03.326 Element 2. 00:14:03.326 --> 00:14:05.534 Guide habit development. 00:14:05.534 --> 00:14:09.854 Start with personal fam stories and willpower stories. 00:14:09.854 --> 00:14:12.714 Connect daily habits to meaningful goals. 00:14:12.714 --> 00:14:18.596 Create sustainable change plans using the habit building plan framework. 00:14:18.596 --> 00:14:23.314 Element three establish support systems. 00:14:23.314 --> 00:14:25.952 Have regular check-in conversations. 00:14:25.952 --> 00:14:29.052 Create accountability partnerships. 00:14:29.052 --> 00:14:31.451 Build shared team practices. 00:14:37.280 --> 00:14:38.125 Sarah's journey to teaching. 00:14:38.125 --> 00:14:47.394 At first I just shared the willpower story tool Sarah explained, but I quickly realised the success cycle that transformed my own performance was exactly what others needed. 00:14:47.394 --> 00:14:50.819 I'd guide them through each step systematically. 00:14:50.819 --> 00:14:56.989 Let me share how Sarah approached each step of the success cycle. 00:14:56.989 --> 00:14:59.714 Step one measurement. 00:14:59.714 --> 00:15:08.798 We'd start by having them track their brain states for a few days and complete the human AI readiness brain state assessment. 00:15:08.798 --> 00:15:13.346 This gave us a clear baseline of their current patterns and challenges. 00:15:15.269 --> 00:15:18.313 Step two planning with the task director. 00:15:18.313 --> 00:15:21.659 This was about more than just tasks. 00:15:21.659 --> 00:15:32.073 We'd start by creating their FAM story, helping them see how optimising their brain states connected to their biggest goals and ambitions. 00:15:32.073 --> 00:15:38.032 Once they had that vision, we'd identify their ice sculptures and ice cubes. 00:15:38.032 --> 00:15:44.232 Creating their first willpower story focused on optimizing their morning hours. 00:15:44.232 --> 00:15:55.387 Having their FAM story made this planning more meaningful because they could see how each small improvement moved them toward their larger goals. 00:15:55.387 --> 00:16:00.175 Step three optimization with the day designer. 00:16:00.175 --> 00:16:13.951 Once they saw results from their morning routine, we'd gradually expand to designing their full day around their brain states, matching tasks to energy levels and using AI tools strategically. 00:16:13.951 --> 00:16:15.986 Step 4. 00:16:15.986 --> 00:16:19.135 Automation with the routine engineer. 00:16:19.135 --> 00:16:29.813 We'd build triggers and systems using the habit-building plan framework that made their new patterns automatic rather than effortful. 00:16:29.813 --> 00:16:36.069 This was crucial for sustaining their transformation, even during challenging periods. 00:16:36.069 --> 00:16:45.375 What amazed me was how this systematic approach worked, whether I was coaching colleagues, entire teams or senior leaders. 00:16:45.375 --> 00:16:57.830 Sarah explained the success cycle anchored by the F story, gave everyone a clear path from struggling with AI tools to thriving alongside them. 00:16:59.012 --> 00:16:59.834 Your next steps. 00:16:59.834 --> 00:17:06.892 Just as Sarah discovered, your journey to helping others is guided by the success cycle. 00:17:06.892 --> 00:17:11.019 Let's break this down into four clear phases. 00:17:11.019 --> 00:17:12.287 Phase 1. 00:17:12.287 --> 00:17:14.168 Start with measurement. 00:17:14.168 --> 00:17:18.794 Help your first person complete the brain state assessment. 00:17:18.794 --> 00:17:21.832 Guide them in tracking their daily patterns. 00:17:21.832 --> 00:17:26.692 Document their current AI tool challenges and opportunities. 00:17:26.692 --> 00:17:28.537 Phase 2. 00:17:28.537 --> 00:17:29.865 Move to planning. 00:17:29.865 --> 00:17:35.778 Remember the task director's saying the foundation determines the height. 00:17:35.778 --> 00:17:42.378 Guide them in drafting their FAM story and Ice Cube and Ice Sculpture lists. 00:17:42.378 --> 00:17:48.137 Help them create their first willpower story focusing on morning hours. 00:17:48.137 --> 00:17:53.557 Show them how to match Ice Cube and ice sculpture tasks to brain states. 00:17:53.557 --> 00:17:55.007 Phase 3. 00:17:55.007 --> 00:17:57.315 Progress to optimisation. 00:17:57.315 --> 00:18:02.952 Remember the day designers saying planning transforms energy. 00:18:02.952 --> 00:18:08.417 Help them expand their willpower story to cover the full day. 00:18:08.417 --> 00:18:12.115 Guide them in using AI tools strategically. 00:18:12.115 --> 00:18:16.256 Help them design supportive environments for high-charge work. 00:18:17.144 --> 00:18:17.687 Phase 4. 00:18:17.687 --> 00:18:20.134 Build toward automation. 00:18:20.134 --> 00:18:25.392 Remember the routine engineers saying systems beat struggle. 00:18:25.392 --> 00:18:29.736 Develop triggers that make good habits automatic. 00:18:29.736 --> 00:18:33.535 Help them create their first habit-building plan. 00:18:33.535 --> 00:18:37.575 Help them build resilient routines that last. 00:18:37.575 --> 00:18:41.956 Remember your role isn't to be a technical expert. 00:18:41.956 --> 00:18:50.496 You're a guide, helping others optimise their most valuable asset their brain states in an AI-augmented world. 00:18:50.496 --> 00:18:58.758 As you master this process with individuals, you can expand to teams and eventually whole organizations. 00:18:58.758 --> 00:19:10.612 As Sarah discovered, when you help someone master their brain states and build effective habits, you don't just improve their performance, you transform their life.
