WEBVTT 00:00:00.100 --> 00:00:01.584 Hello, habit Mechanics. 00:00:01.584 --> 00:00:02.746 It's Dr John Finn here. 00:00:02.746 --> 00:00:04.631 I hope you're having a great week so far. 00:00:04.631 --> 00:00:30.085 So this is the part two of how to become a human AI coach, and in part one you learned about where that role fits into the workplace, and I genuinely think that becoming a human ii coach is going to be the most important role in the workplace. 00:00:30.908 --> 00:00:44.646 It is the least automatable thing and it is central for helping people's brains to work well, and our brain power what we call our cognitive performance is our most valuable asset. 00:00:44.646 --> 00:00:57.881 You know, people get that towards the end of their life, where their cognitive performance naturally declines, but also people get these terrible diseases like dementia and alzheimer's and all this kind of stuff, and that really hits home. 00:00:57.881 --> 00:01:09.468 How, how important are our cognitions, our thoughts and the ability to control them In other words, our cognitive performance is. 00:01:09.468 --> 00:01:31.045 But they're also essential right now, wherever you are in your life, because they are the essence of what makes you a human being, but they are also the thing that drives your ability to add value in your own life and to add value to other people's lives, which is how we make money. 00:01:31.045 --> 00:01:40.605 Ultimately, we we exchange value for money, and money is essential for paying the mortgage, putting food on the table, etc. 00:01:40.605 --> 00:02:23.270 So I I see that the most vital skill humans can learn is, I think, right now already, but, and increasingly, um, almost every day in the world that we're living in, it is brain state management, and that means people are going to need other people to not just give them the knowledge about what brain state management is, but to help them to actually change their behaviour and habitualise better recharge states and better high charge management, etc. 00:02:23.270 --> 00:02:49.585 So take their brain state profile from wherever they are right now, on that continuum from having a cross-the-bare profile through to a sharpening-up-an-arrowhead profile, and that's what you learn about in Chapter 8 of Train your Brain for the AI Revolution, which is the human eye readiness, self brain state assessment. 00:02:50.606 --> 00:02:55.281 Wherever anyone's score is, they're going to need help in terms of getting a better score. 00:02:55.281 --> 00:03:43.465 That's why we have coaches, that's why we have experts and, in the context of our bigger thinking about helping people, which is what we're passionate about, we know that actually to help people properly, we want to, first and foremost, show them how to work on themselves so almost and show them how to work on themselves, so almost, refining what they learn from our books, from our tools, from our training as they apply it to themselves. 00:03:43.465 --> 00:03:50.147 And essentially, that's what the first the the first four steps of train your brain for the ai revolution do. 00:03:50.147 --> 00:03:54.885 They show you how to put this four-step system into practice for yourself. 00:03:54.885 --> 00:04:05.691 But then, like I said, most people will get it, will get understand what to do, but they won't be able to do it themselves. 00:04:05.691 --> 00:04:06.612 They will need support. 00:04:06.612 --> 00:04:12.850 And therefore, the question is well, what does a human AI coach actually do? 00:04:12.850 --> 00:04:26.341 Well, they do the same thing that we map out in the four steps of train your brain for the AI revolution, but they help others to put that into practice. 00:04:26.341 --> 00:04:33.028 And, of course, to help others put into practice, you've you've got to be working on yourself first and foremost, but that's all that it is. 00:04:33.028 --> 00:04:36.922 So it's taking those first four steps and it's putting it into practice to help others. 00:04:37.482 --> 00:04:52.781 Now, of course, when we train our coaches to become certified habit mechanic AI edge coaches, then we also go deeper than train your brain for the AI revolution. 00:04:52.781 --> 00:04:56.812 We've got loads of other tools that we train our coaches on, but the premise is the same. 00:04:56.812 --> 00:05:06.166 We're taking people through this journey of measuring their brain states, doing that intelligent self-watching, then starting to target. 00:05:06.166 --> 00:05:09.942 What are the most important things for them to be working on? 00:05:09.942 --> 00:05:13.312 And that's the sort of task director work. 00:05:13.312 --> 00:05:20.225 Then giving people that container so they can manage every 24-hour period better. 00:05:20.225 --> 00:05:21.369 That's the willpower story. 00:05:21.369 --> 00:05:26.372 And then helping people to activate the habit building plan. 00:05:26.372 --> 00:05:38.954 And there are then other tools we can start to layer on top of that and we can take that same approach not just for the individuals, but also for teams and also for businesses. 00:05:38.954 --> 00:05:54.908 And it's so, so key to recognize actually what you are, if you want to become a human AI coach, is you are a cognitive performance coach, but that language might feel a little bit well. 00:05:54.908 --> 00:05:55.529 What does that mean? 00:05:55.529 --> 00:06:09.360 It just means cognition, just means thinking, and we want to help people to be high-performing thinkers so they can be healthy, happy and at their best. 00:06:09.360 --> 00:06:13.089 And our vehicle to help people to do that is brent step management. 00:06:13.089 --> 00:06:26.798 So what I'm gonna, what's gonna follow, is I'm gonna share with you um chapter 27 of Train your Brain for the AI Revolution. 00:06:26.798 --> 00:06:35.233 And remember, you can actually listen to the full version of Train your Brain for the AI Revolution inside of the Hammond Mechanic University app. 00:06:35.233 --> 00:06:57.504 It is also available on many audiobook platforms, the more and more each day as it gets, as the distribution just um well, as the distributors start to make the book available on their own platforms, but you can listen to it in the app for free. 00:06:57.504 --> 00:07:05.576 But this is chapter 27, so this builds on what we learned in the last podcast, where we focused on chapter 26. 00:07:05.576 --> 00:07:32.329 So, yeah, this is 27, and it just sort of shows you step-by-step, practically what human AI coaches do, and I just genuinely believe that human AI coaches will become the most important professionals in the workplace, because without our brains working well, nothing else is going to be good in our lives or our businesses. 00:07:32.329 --> 00:07:34.372 So this is the key. 00:07:34.372 --> 00:07:46.956 So, yeah, hope you enjoy it and look out for the next episode, which will be part three of this little mini-series, chapter 27,. 00:07:47.456 --> 00:07:50.461 Teaching Others to Thrive in the AI Era. 00:07:50.461 --> 00:07:58.875 Sarah watched her colleague James staring at his screen, surrounded by the same AI tools that had once overwhelmed her. 00:07:58.875 --> 00:08:07.894 An accomplished engineer, james had the potential to be a brilliant automator, but his fragmented brain states were holding him back. 00:08:07.894 --> 00:08:12.673 The frustration in his expression was all too familiar. 00:08:12.673 --> 00:08:13.735 She remembered. 00:08:13.735 --> 00:08:20.875 That's when I knew helping others optimise their brain states wasn't just an opportunity. 00:08:20.875 --> 00:08:31.464 It was becoming essential essential. 00:08:31.464 --> 00:08:33.187 This is where your journey expands beyond personal mastery. 00:08:33.187 --> 00:08:44.054 As organisations worldwide struggle to implement AI effectively, they're missing something crucial Experts who understand how to optimise human brain states for this new way of working. 00:08:44.054 --> 00:08:48.423 This isn't about teaching people to use AI tools. 00:08:48.423 --> 00:08:55.375 It's about helping them build the habits that make human AI collaboration natural and effective. 00:08:56.697 --> 00:09:10.567 The key to this method's success, sarah observed, was focusing on brain states and habits rather than technology, states and habits rather than technology. 00:09:10.567 --> 00:09:21.311 Instead of another AI training session, I could show people how to match their natural energy patterns to different types of work, optimize their focus and use AI tools strategically during different brain states. 00:09:21.311 --> 00:09:26.537 Three levels of impact that human AI coaches can make. 00:09:26.537 --> 00:09:29.760 First, individual optimisation. 00:09:29.760 --> 00:09:35.085 Second, team integration. 00:09:35.085 --> 00:09:36.807 Third, cultural transformation. 00:09:36.807 --> 00:09:38.610 Here's each area in more detail. 00:09:38.610 --> 00:09:57.738 First, individual optimisation Helping others identify their optimal brain states, guiding them to draft their first FAM story and willpower story, supporting them as they craft their first habit building plan. 00:09:57.738 --> 00:10:01.815 I started with simple things, sarah shared. 00:10:01.815 --> 00:10:14.316 When I helped James create his first willpower story, we focused on identifying his natural high-charge times, those morning hours when his thinking was clearest. 00:10:14.316 --> 00:10:26.581 Just matching his important work to these peak times and using AI to handle routine tasks during energy dips transformed his productivity. 00:10:28.326 --> 00:10:30.995 Second, team integration. 00:10:30.995 --> 00:10:36.035 Coordinating team brain states for optimal collaboration. 00:10:36.035 --> 00:10:40.897 Creating shared brain energy-aware meeting protocols. 00:10:40.897 --> 00:10:45.014 Building supportive environments for high-charge work. 00:10:45.014 --> 00:10:49.975 The power of team awareness became clear, sarah explained. 00:10:49.975 --> 00:10:57.537 Once everyone understood brain states, they naturally started coordinating their collective energy patterns. 00:10:57.537 --> 00:11:11.750 They'd schedule creative meetings during shared high-charge times, used AI to handle routine tasks during energy dips and planned coaching conversations when people had the right energy for deep thinking. 00:11:11.750 --> 00:11:22.081 Third, cultural transformation Embedding brain states into organisational strategy and decision making. 00:11:22.081 --> 00:11:29.077 Creating company-wide policies that support brain state energy optimization. 00:11:29.077 --> 00:11:35.158 Building brain state understanding into leadership development programs. 00:11:35.158 --> 00:11:40.836 The real transformation happened to our workplace culture, sarah explained. 00:11:40.836 --> 00:11:45.832 Leaders began making brain states part of our company DNA. 00:11:45.832 --> 00:12:05.826 They changed performance metrics to value energy management, invested in tools and training to support optimal brain states and recognized teams who consistently delivered high-impact work by matching tasks to their peak brain states. 00:12:05.826 --> 00:12:15.707 More importantly, they created an environment where people felt safe to optimize their own performance and support others in doing the same. 00:12:16.495 --> 00:12:24.889 Common challenges and solutions as Sarah helped more people optimise their brain states, she encountered several common challenges. 00:12:24.889 --> 00:12:29.466 Understanding these helps you support others more effectively. 00:12:29.466 --> 00:12:31.298 Challenge 1. 00:12:31.298 --> 00:12:33.686 The technology focus trap. 00:12:33.686 --> 00:12:38.826 People often fixate on AI tools rather than their brain states. 00:12:38.826 --> 00:12:44.628 The solution is to start with the human AI readiness brain state assessment. 00:12:44.628 --> 00:12:50.267 Once they see how their energy affects their work, ai's role becomes clearer. 00:12:50.267 --> 00:12:52.278 Challenge 2. 00:12:52.278 --> 00:12:54.566 The quick fix expectation. 00:12:54.566 --> 00:12:58.102 People want immediate results without building habits. 00:12:58.102 --> 00:13:06.240 The solution is to begin with tiny changes that show quick wins while building toward larger transformation. 00:13:06.240 --> 00:13:10.085 Challenge three the all-or-nothing mindset. 00:13:10.085 --> 00:13:14.591 People think they must master all AI tools immediately. 00:13:14.591 --> 00:13:24.298 The solution is to focus on optimising one brain state at a time, gradually introducing AI support your coaching framework. 00:13:24.980 --> 00:13:28.288 Let's explore the three key elements of effective coaching. 00:13:28.288 --> 00:13:29.739 Element 1. 00:13:29.739 --> 00:13:32.005 Build trust and understanding. 00:13:32.005 --> 00:13:35.485 Help map individual brain state patterns. 00:13:35.485 --> 00:13:38.261 Listen and show genuine care. 00:13:38.261 --> 00:13:41.884 Understand current AI challenges. 00:13:41.884 --> 00:13:43.397 Element 2. 00:13:43.397 --> 00:13:45.605 Guide habit development. 00:13:45.605 --> 00:13:49.924 Start with personal fam stories and willpower stories. 00:13:49.924 --> 00:13:52.784 Connect daily habits to meaningful goals. 00:13:52.784 --> 00:13:58.667 Create sustainable change plans using the habit building plan framework. 00:13:58.667 --> 00:14:03.384 Element three establish support systems. 00:14:03.384 --> 00:14:06.023 Have regular check-in conversations. 00:14:06.023 --> 00:14:09.123 Create accountability partnerships. 00:14:09.123 --> 00:14:11.522 Build shared team practices. 00:14:17.350 --> 00:14:18.195 Sarah's journey to teaching. 00:14:18.195 --> 00:14:27.464 At first I just shared the willpower story tool Sarah explained, but I quickly realised the success cycle that transformed my own performance was exactly what others needed. 00:14:27.464 --> 00:14:30.889 I'd guide them through each step systematically. 00:14:30.889 --> 00:14:37.059 Let me share how Sarah approached each step of the success cycle. 00:14:37.059 --> 00:14:39.784 Step one measurement. 00:14:39.784 --> 00:14:48.869 We'd start by having them track their brain states for a few days and complete the human AI readiness brain state assessment. 00:14:48.869 --> 00:14:53.416 This gave us a clear baseline of their current patterns and challenges. 00:14:55.339 --> 00:14:58.384 Step two planning with the task director. 00:14:58.384 --> 00:15:01.730 This was about more than just tasks. 00:15:01.730 --> 00:15:12.144 We'd start by creating their FAM story, helping them see how optimising their brain states connected to their biggest goals and ambitions. 00:15:12.144 --> 00:15:18.102 Once they had that vision, we'd identify their ice sculptures and ice cubes. 00:15:18.102 --> 00:15:24.302 Creating their first willpower story focused on optimizing their morning hours. 00:15:24.302 --> 00:15:35.457 Having their FAM story made this planning more meaningful because they could see how each small improvement moved them toward their larger goals. 00:15:35.457 --> 00:15:40.245 Step three optimization with the day designer. 00:15:40.245 --> 00:15:54.022 Once they saw results from their morning routine, we'd gradually expand to designing their full day around their brain states, matching tasks to energy levels and using AI tools strategically. 00:15:54.022 --> 00:15:56.057 Step 4. 00:15:56.057 --> 00:15:59.206 Automation with the routine engineer. 00:15:59.206 --> 00:16:09.884 We'd build triggers and systems using the habit-building plan framework that made their new patterns automatic rather than effortful. 00:16:09.884 --> 00:16:16.139 This was crucial for sustaining their transformation, even during challenging periods. 00:16:16.139 --> 00:16:25.445 What amazed me was how this systematic approach worked, whether I was coaching colleagues, entire teams or senior leaders. 00:16:25.445 --> 00:16:37.900 Sarah explained the success cycle anchored by the F story, gave everyone a clear path from struggling with AI tools to thriving alongside them. 00:16:39.082 --> 00:16:39.904 Your next steps. 00:16:39.904 --> 00:16:46.961 Just as Sarah discovered, your journey to helping others is guided by the success cycle. 00:16:46.961 --> 00:16:51.089 Let's break this down into four clear phases. 00:16:51.089 --> 00:16:52.356 Phase 1. 00:16:52.356 --> 00:16:54.238 Start with measurement. 00:16:54.238 --> 00:16:58.864 Help your first person complete the brain state assessment. 00:16:58.864 --> 00:17:01.902 Guide them in tracking their daily patterns. 00:17:01.902 --> 00:17:06.762 Document their current AI tool challenges and opportunities. 00:17:06.762 --> 00:17:08.606 Phase 2. 00:17:08.606 --> 00:17:09.935 Move to planning. 00:17:09.935 --> 00:17:15.848 Remember the task director's saying the foundation determines the height. 00:17:15.848 --> 00:17:22.448 Guide them in drafting their FAM story and Ice Cube and Ice Sculpture lists. 00:17:22.448 --> 00:17:28.207 Help them create their first willpower story focusing on morning hours. 00:17:28.207 --> 00:17:33.626 Show them how to match Ice Cube and ice sculpture tasks to brain states. 00:17:33.626 --> 00:17:35.076 Phase 3. 00:17:35.076 --> 00:17:37.384 Progress to optimisation. 00:17:37.384 --> 00:17:43.022 Remember the day designers saying planning transforms energy. 00:17:43.022 --> 00:17:48.487 Help them expand their willpower story to cover the full day. 00:17:48.487 --> 00:17:52.184 Guide them in using AI tools strategically. 00:17:52.184 --> 00:17:56.326 Help them design supportive environments for high-charge work. 00:17:57.214 --> 00:17:57.757 Phase 4. 00:17:57.757 --> 00:18:00.204 Build toward automation. 00:18:00.204 --> 00:18:05.461 Remember the routine engineers saying systems beat struggle. 00:18:05.461 --> 00:18:09.806 Develop triggers that make good habits automatic. 00:18:09.806 --> 00:18:13.605 Help them create their first habit-building plan. 00:18:13.605 --> 00:18:17.644 Help them build resilient routines that last. 00:18:17.644 --> 00:18:22.026 Remember your role isn't to be a technical expert. 00:18:22.026 --> 00:18:30.566 You're a guide, helping others optimise their most valuable asset their brain states in an AI-augmented world. 00:18:30.566 --> 00:18:38.827 As you master this process with individuals, you can expand to teams and eventually whole organizations. 00:18:38.827 --> 00:18:50.682 As Sarah discovered, when you help someone master their brain states and build effective habits, you don't just improve their performance, you transform their life.
