Cedar

Appearance: There are several types of evergreen trees that bear cones or berries known as cedars. The   cedars that commonly grow in North America are in the same order as the Biblical cedars, but not the same family or genus. They are not the same plant, but they do have similar habits.

The temple and palace that Solomon built were made of cedar. When a person in the Bible pronounced a blessing, they often compared the blessed individual to a cedar. Cedars are also a symbol of power and strength throughout the Bible.

In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
