Monster Rabbit Words Part 2 - How and Why Do We Teach Syllable Types -  

Listen and learn how to teach spelling using the Monster Rabbit syllable type.

When three or more consonants are between two vowels, we divide between the consonants, keeping the initial blends and diagraphs together. The sounds should be natural sounding. This often makes the first syllable closed and the vowel is short.
