Episode 4 of Chapter 7 flips the script. No more just defending — now it’s time to go on the offense. It’s time to kill the snake. But not with fists, not with harsh words — with praise, perspective, and the power of gratitude.

🎙️ In this powerful close to the “Snakes” segment of Chapter 7, Richie reveals the spiritual secret weapon: worship. Straight from the playbook of Ephesians 6 and the story of Jehoshaphat, we discover how praise doesn’t just push back darkness — it cuts the head off the enemy.

💥 What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
* Why praise is the weapon the enemy can’t stand — literally.
* The snake used to be heaven’s worship leader — so your praise is his worst nightmare.
* How gratitude clears your mind, calms your emotions, and protects your purpose.
* Why reacting emotionally means you’ve already taken the bait.
* The role of perspective in battle — and why gratitude builds an invisible hedge around you.
* Practical examples of how Richie used this in real business battles and won.

🛡️ Don’t fight the snake on the ground. Elevate the battle. Let God take the front line. When you walk in gratitude, the enemy loses access. No matter the lies, accusations, or emotional bait — you stay grounded, focused, and victorious.

📖 This episode wraps the "Snakes" arc with deep insight, heartfelt testimony, and equipping truth for anyone under fire.

SPEAKER_00:

We're switching from the set defensive to offensive. And so to killing, you know, killing the snake, how is that or attack attacking the snake? You talk about that.

SPEAKER_01:

No, it's a kill.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, it's a game. It's a kill, man.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, because, you know, there's a chapter in Ephesians chapter six that really breaks down the spiritual armor of God. And that's the first place I went to study, like, all right, how do I, you know, prepare myself to attack the snake? And and when I was reading, man, I was like, I mean, just playing sports and stuff. I was like, man, this is defensive. This is like, I'm standing and I'm gonna defend myself when it attacks. But that's not killing the snake. It's great, don't get me wrong, there's offense and defense, and you got to be able to defend yourself. Even the sword of God, the sword, which is the word of God, was a defense mechanism because the sword, the word is the promises that that can defend off any attacks, which is which is true. And so, but even that wasn't like cutting the head off. So I was like, but then the the very last part where it says pray without ceasing, yeah, you know, that part was it is the final weapon it gave after the sword. I was like, pray, pray without ceasing. And I was like, so I went and studied again prayer, just the basics of it. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. And I was like, Wow. That just like, oh my gosh. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. We praise him continuously. And the reason why it clicked was like, I was thinking of the story of Jehoshaphat when three armies came to attack them. Yeah, Jehoshaphat was like, there's no way we can win this. Just like, you know, the snake, there's no way. God says, You don't need to fight this war, it's already won. I got the victory for you. And he had petitioned him. Jehoshaphat just gave him praise before he did a petition. And that's the thing. Petition is okay to ask, but let's praise him before we get to the ask. Come on. You know, so the praise was like, man, and then it just connected. Who was the snake before Adam and Eve? Yeah, he was the worship leader in heaven who gave praise. And so now he's on the reciprocal side, and now we're gonna take our praise to him. It cuts his head off. He can't be around it. It's the total opposite of what his assignment was to steward. He was the worship praise leader who turned, uh-huh, turned narcissist and fell out of heaven, brought his worship team, and they're down here now just roaming the earth trying to kill, steal, destroy. But he cannot be in the presence of what he used to be assigned to do, and it cuts his head off. And so Jehosaphat grabbed his little army, went down, he said, This is what we're gonna do. We're gonna put all the singers and worshipers on the front lines, not my greatest warriors, we're not gonna fight the eagle on the ground, we're going to elevate. Yeah, we are going to air Jordan on him, we are going to lift his name up and sing praise. They did, and the three armies were probably the greatest example of the bait kill and bait hook and kill the enemy, and they all got confused and started killing each other. And they just couldn't be around that noise of worship and praising the father. And I was just like, okay, well, okay. Yeah, like this is this is powerful. Praise is the sword that cuts the enemy's head off. He cannot be around it. And so practically now, when I'm able to categorize this snake, Ray, and I notice that this snake is is is is the adversity I'm going through, I start. I like the eagle, I just take it to the sky now, man.

SPEAKER_00:

Come on.

SPEAKER_01:

I just take the snake to the sky. I'm not gonna fight him on the ground. I know the truths, yeah, you know, and those are lies. I'm not gonna get bait, I'm just gonna cut, cut it, and so I'm just gonna start praising. And what I recognized as a business owner, there was some situations where I came in where there was a neighbor, man, that was just attacking my character on a project I was on, just doing everything it could, like those three armies coming to destroy me. And I was like, man, it was attacking my character, and the homeowner came in, and it was just one of those very challenging, my character was just feeling like insecure, like sure, you know, like I was just getting getting baited, and I just said, God, I cannot handle this stress, you know, of of being attacked like this, you know, and you know, at every different level. And so, you know, I was like, man, I just want to, I'm just gonna practice what I preach. Let's see if this cuts, I'm gonna cut the head snake off. And I just started praising God, man. And what I realized though, just in a practical sense, in a human body form, right? I I kind of my gratitude to God relaxed me and focused me. Just naturally, like, because instead of all the thoughts running through my head of the attack and what am I doing wrong, what all this like confusion, yeah, I just like praising God just in gratitude, just focused me. And then the emotions of what was trying to get baited was gone. So even if you don't even like know God, just the just being thankful, huge, just period, just a heart and perspective and mind frame of just being thankful. That's how God built us. He built our mind to have gratitude and moments where confusion or different thoughts come in, and it erases the board to start fresh. Yeah, and so then I got I got to actually practically think about how to make my next steps without being confused with bait and perspective. So it was it was a powerful like tool God gave, not only to praise him, but just have gratitude, period. Just say, man, I'm thankful for this job. I'm thankful for my workers showing up today. I'm thankful for you know, even the challenges that come ahead to help me learn and be better. And while I was doing that, any attack that came, I just was thankful. I returned it with a thankfulness.

SPEAKER_00:

Come on, man.

SPEAKER_01:

And then she was powerless, yeah. Powerless. The snake, I had elevated the snake, yeah. And the snake was just up there floating, didn't know what to do because any attack that came on me, I was just thankful. Yeah, wait a minute, it's not working. You know, it's like it's like powerless. And so basically, the head was cut off. There was nothing you could do because the attack was on was words, yeah. That's all it was. It was words. So good, bro. The words don't faze you, yeah. You know, and you respond in gratefulness, respond in praise. You're just elevating the situation, you're allowing God to come in now. So now you're allowing the builder of all things to step in on the front lines. That's what happens. You're giving up the front lines. That's what Joe Hosephat did. The king he said, I'm giving up the front lines for you to step in. You're my new marchers in the front, and then allow God to operate. And he's back there watching them conf, he's back there watching them confuse and fighting, and he's probably have a clear mind on how we're gonna actually penetrate, you know, to infiltrate in and take over now and do what we need to do.

SPEAKER_00:

So that's good. That's awesome. No, as we head into the close of this podcast, I'll I mean the while you're speaking and and as I'm reading this, Richie, there's a portion in there where you know the snake is meant to bring your emotions out of you, yes, because he wants you to react, not to respond. And that's one of my personal like life things is I always tell I always tell my wife or myself to remind myself, hey, let's not react to things, let's respond to it. And the one of the ways we have to set that up to respond is you have to have a clear mind, like you mentioned. And like you said, one of the biggest, what do you call it, biggest tools you can have is your perspective. And and I believe in the grand scheme of things, this book will 100% help you do that in all aspects of business and in life. And one of the things that I I wrote here was that you know, when in in any in any argument or in any situation, when you let your emotions run your actions, or you let your emotions, you know, take control of how you do how you proceed on things, you lose control, right? And control is one of the things you never want to lose, especially in an argument or in in an interaction where someone is attacking you personally and your character and all that, all that jazz. And and what you said here was that when you posture yourself to be, you know, thankful and and to have that mindset of gratitude, you keep your control. Because now, any like you mentioned, any of the words that this person is saying to you or posting online, you know it's not true, and you're able to hold your ground because you have that control, and because you're thankful for everything else that's going around you. I mean, that perspective shift is huge.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, and that's what I would want anybody listening today to leave with if in the simplicity of it is use the lens of gratitude to to position yourself to respond versus react. And that's the gift that God gave us, that's the tool he gave us was praising him. He doesn't just need praise, he understands that's how we're built, and use him as a tool to defeat the enemy.

SPEAKER_00:

That's good. Yeah, that's okay.

SPEAKER_01:

I mean, and it and it and it's worked real time for me. I mean, that is really that whole, like, I wanted to really build up who the snake was in the spiritual side of things, but at the end of the day, like walk around with the lens of gratitude, watch what happens. The snake won't even be in your territory. Come on, it can't, it's like you're building this hedge around you, yeah, that it can't even like he's gonna have to ask permission, like Job, say, Am I allowed? Can I can I try to get I mean, I I can't even get in his boundaries, man. He's like just always grateful. Like, what am I gonna do? Come on, man. You know what I mean? So if you can just walk around with the lens of gratitude, watch your life change, man. Watch God become your frontliner, you know, instead of you know, you know, trying to fight the snake on the ground.
