Rob Grill was the lead singer, bassist, and frontman of The Grass Roots, one of the most successful pop-rock bands of the late 1960s and 1970s.

- Grill joined the band in 1967 and remained its driving force for decades, continuing to tour under The Grass Rootsname even after the group’s mainstream success had peaked.
- He also released solo work, including the 1979 album Uprooted.
