Welcome to Word of Life Study Series - The truth makes us free. My encouragement is that as you listen to this material, be open in your thinking. Of course you are not obligated to accept anything in this podcast if you can’t see it plainly in the Word of God and bears witness with your spirit. However, if you begin to see things in the Word of God that may be a little different from what you have been accustomed to, we need to stay with the truth of God’s Word and not what we thought the Bible said, or what another person said they thought the Bible said. I don’t know about you, but if I am wrong in my thinking, I want to know about it and change so I can receive God’s blessing in my life.
1. Grace Filled Words
The Bible is saturated, permeated, impregnated, infused and full of His GRACE & POWER. I would like to offer an alternative to the traditional definition of grace, “God’s unmerited favor” with one that is in keeping with Scripture. “Grace is God’s power at work in those who believe to do what they don’t have the power in themselves to do.” The grace of God speaks of God’s power and ability, while “unmerited favor” actually speaks of God’s mercy and disposition towards humanity. God’s Words are containers for a spirit and life substance called grace; placing God’s Word in a class all by itself.
2. God’s Word is Living and Active
The Bible is a living spiritual book, pulsating with the life of God. All Scripture is God-breathed. Another Greek rendering for living is “Quick and Alive” and for active, “Operative, Effectual, and Powerfully Working”. In other words the Bible is not another dead book. The pages of the Bible record living words that DO SOMETHING!
