Welcome to your spiritual insight. In this session, we're going to talk about how to make decisions with your spirit guides. When you are living spiritually connected so that you can align to your true self, one of the best things you can do is make decisions with your guides. This allows you to blend your inner wisdom and your intellect and life experience with guidance from your spirit guides who might see things that you don't see. So, how do you even start this process? I'm going to share with you the exact process I use anytime I am making a big decision and want to make sure I have covered every aspect from the spiritual to the human. So the very first step that I take is to calm and clear my mind. Making any decision from a place of intense emotions and overwhelm rarely gets us a great outcome. So the very first thing that I do is perform an emotional energetic reset. I personally do this in two ways. The first one is a meditation, and the second is a walk. Now, which one I choose depends on my current emotional level and overwhelm. If it's, we'll call it average, I start with a meditation. I typically do a 10-minute session with simply calming music, no guided words. And what I do instead is focus on my breath and really being present with the moment. Now, occasionally, if my mind won't calm down from this, I will do a guided visualization to connect with the ground and earth to really close my mind chatter off. Now, if this isn't working at all and I am experiencing a really intense emotion, let's say I'm angry because of an encounter I just had, I will then actually start with the walk. The walk is going to allow me to move that energy out of my body and calm down physically so that then I can calm down mentally. I will often follow that walk with a briefer meditation. So maybe five minutes instead of 10 minutes. So how do you know what will work for you? You're gonna have to practice different options and observe how quickly you can calm down. So maybe the walk will actually make you more jittery. Maybe what you actually need to do is only the meditation, and you have to do a guided meditation. Play around with what calms you down the fastest and most effectively because ultimately what you want is to get all of that excess energy, mental and physical, out of the way so that you can calmly move forward with decision making. Without this step, you end up making decisions from a very different part of your brain than you would if you were calm. So this one is actually probably one of the more important simply because it gets you into the right state of mind. Now, after I do that, I move to step two, which is journaling. With this journaling, I am going through a process of gathering data, exploring my emotions, and working through possible solutions. So the exact steps I take are I first write out the situation, getting as much detail onto paper as possible. I approach it like I'm writing a story, like if I had to write the movie script of what was going on. What this will do is not only help calm you even further, but it allows you to get everything onto paper, which then when you reread it, you might see things you didn't realize. Or because writing on paper activates different parts of your brain, it will activate different memories, different insights. So you might get something that you never would have gotten by just talking to a friend. After I've gotten everything written down, I then move to the next step, which is asking myself, how does this make me feel? And then I proceed to process those emotions before going to decision mode. Now, why do we do this? Because those emotions are not going anywhere. Even if you push them down and hide them and make a decision, at some point they are going to come back out. So it is better to process them right now. Now, this layer of emotional processing is slightly different than that first calming down one in that you've already put everything on paper and now you're actually processing the emotions of what is going on, what triggered you when you were writing that down. Let yourself actually feel those emotions and then release them. Now you might not be able to release those right away if this is a really intense situation or if it's an ongoing situation, but every time you take a moment to really process those emotions will help you make better decisions and move past something. If it's something difficult like a divorce or the death of a loved one, processing these emotions as you work through this will really help you down the road. After that, I then began to explore different solutions. I personally blend brainstorming with exploring how each particular situation will work. If you wanted to do traditional brainstorming where you just write everything down without any processing, go for it. You need to do what works right for you. And then finally, after I've done that, I narrow it down to one or two solutions that I think at this point in time would work. And this is when I switch to getting guidance from my spirit guides. So I do this in a few different ways. The first one is asking them to give me insight into what life will look like if I move forward with a specific decision. Now, the purpose of this is to gain insight about what you might expect and learn from that decision. And we're doing it this way instead of asking, is this good, yes or no? Because you want more details. A yes, it's good from your spirit team might get you very different results than what you would expect from yes, it's good. So, for example, let's say you're considering a new apartment to move to, and you've narrowed it down to two, and they say yes, both will be good, and you're like, great, so I'll take the one closer to work. What you might not realize is their yes, it's good means that you're gonna get 10 lessons while you're living there, but they're all gonna come from really difficult situations. But the other one that you didn't pick or weren't gonna pick because it's you know close to work was a yes, it's good because it was really gonna answer, it was gonna take care of those 10 lessons in a positive way. This asking is to get those details of what will it really be like. So I'm gonna share with you an example of one I did a few years ago. I was trying to decide what career path to take, and I had three options on the table. I asked my guides for each one, what would my life look like if I followed that option? With option one, they showed me a very nice life. I was happy, I was content, it was easy. However, it also meant I would not be living on purpose and would not finish all of my incarnation plans that I had for this lifetime. Option two would be very difficult the first few years, but in the end, I would live on purpose and be happy with what I was doing. Option three wasn't going to be as hard as option two, but it was going to take a lot longer to get to the same place. Now, with these different approaches, I had a much better view of what life was going to be like and what I could expect than just yes or no. And so, if you're curious, I chose option two, the very hard for a few years. Um, so yeah, glutton for punishment here. But that's what you're trying to do is get more information than just a yes or no, because your human goals are different sometimes than their goals. Remember, your spirit guides job is to make sure that any life contracts or plans are accomplished. And so they are always going to push you in the direction that's going to achieve more of that than necessarily an easy human existence. Now, the second thing that I ask them is: is there anything I'm missing? Is there a component I haven't taken into consideration? This allows you to tap into their view of the world. They see things we simply can't see. You can consider this like asking your friend what they think. Um, but they get the spirit perspective and not the human perspective. And then the third thing that I ask my guides is is there anything else that I need to know right now? This is very similar to that last question, but it's broader so that they can bring in information that doesn't directly involve the decision. So, for example, maybe you aren't missing anything, you're seeing everything right, but there's a timing issue that they want you to be aware of with something that doesn't have anything to do with this. And while it might not change your decision, it could impact when you take action. So let's pick something really easy as an example. Let's say you're getting ready to plan a big vacation that you've been dreaming about for a long time and you have everything in place, and they've even agreed it's a great plan. What they see that might impact that great vacation is maybe something happening at work or something with a family member where they might say, it looks great. We agree with everything, but there's something coming up, you might want to move it to July instead of August. So that really allows them to give you information that might not actually apply to the decision, but more in the execution of the decision. Now, the next and final step is to review everything and decide. Look at your ideas, look at what your guides said, tap into your intuition again, and make the final decision. Remembering you do have free will, you can disregard what your guides say. This is your decision. Also keep in mind that after going through this process one time, you might not have an answer. The bigger the decision is, the more times you might actually have to go through this process. And each time you go through the process, you're gonna gain more and more insight. Different things will happen, like your subconscious will start connecting details for you that weren't obvious, or your spirit guides can bring confirmation signs or more details so that you have more confidence. So if at the end of the first time through you're still feeling unsure, or your instincts say there's something else that you need to know, then go ahead and hit pause, repeat the process, and continue doing that until you're more confident. A lot of times, even when I'm 99% sure that is the path I'm gonna take, I might sleep on it and then do a quick journal session in the morning again, just to make sure I'm not missing anything. Now, I know that that section where you're getting information from your guides can be a little bit difficult if you're new to communicating with your guides. So there are a couple of things you can do. The first is have them send you a sign. Have them confirm through sign that what you're thinking is the right path. Now, with this sign, you're gonna want it to be very specific. You're not gonna say, give me a sign, and then just you know, wait for it to happen, because then you're gonna end up in a situation where you're gonna go, wait, was that a sign? No, that was a sign. No, that was a sign. You want to tell them what sign you want. So for example, maybe you say, if this is a yes, will you please show me a red balloon? Now, when you're picking out what you see, don't pick something you see every single day. If you work at a kid's party place, picking a red balloon, probably not a great idea for you. On the other hand, if you pick something that is so wild and out there that you wouldn't see it, then don't pick that either. So pick something that isn't part of your daily life, but is actually reasonable that you would see it. Now, another thing that you can do if you struggle to hear your guides or are just new to it is use something like Oracle cards or tarot cards to guide your journaling. I will do this when I'm stuck in the on the human side and like nothing is coming. I will grab a deck and then I will pull a card and start writing on what resonated with me. And then I might pull another card and I will basically just kind of interact with my guides through the cards while journaling. This one can be really effective when everything else is sort of blocked because they will help you get the right cards. And then when you read the description of it, you will notice a place that you might want to start. And then using that, you might go, okay, well, I think these are the two options. And then you can ask for a sign. Now, I do have some other resources that can help you with this. First, I have an article on how to get spiritual guidance. I will put a link to that in the show notes. I also have a Reiki video on YouTube for decision making to help you get clarity. And I also have a guided meditation to get information from your heart. Sometimes your heart might have way more information than your mind does. That meditation is in podcast episode 69. It is also available on YouTube and Insight Timer. So if you prefer to do your meditations there, I will put the links in the show notes for all of those. I hope that helps you combine your own inner wisdom and human experience with your guides information to make better decisions. Thank you for joining me today.
